So much time has passed between those two...

In case you're wondering, I've been preparing my Street Fighter reviews and I'll have up as soon as I can a review of the original Street Fighter on this blog!

And YES, I try to make honest reviews/write down real impressions. So I always (re)finish the game (specially if it's an adventure) and at least have many playthroughs (for arcade games) before writing anything!

It seems Ryu grew some muscles over the year... And Mount Rushmore lost Roosevelt over Juri... What??

And I just found out spending an afternoon on Street Fighter 1 completly ruined my Super Street Fighter 4 reflexes for good.. I was sucking so much while playing it a moment ago...

Stay tuned fellas~

MOVIE NEWS! JJ Abrams and giant lezards...

So did you have a chance to see Ironman 2 already?
I just did yesterday : P

But living in Europe, I had not the chance to see the first teaser trailer of Abrams new movie called Super 8...
Nope, in fact here the trailers aren't selected by the producers/distributers, in case you didn't knew it.
The theatres themselves have their "current" selection that they show alongside all current movies. (most of the times, with a selection for family friendly/kids movies, one for more adult/action/thriller/drama stuff, one for more romantic/girly/love stories and so on...)

Anyway, I didn't had the chance to have my "new Abrams project" preview : (
Thanks to the magic of youtube here's the sneak peak preview:

*hope it stays online for a bit, or I'll have to relink it to somewhere else*

Nice. Doesn't tell much, but leaves us asking for more/imaging stuff.
Building our expectations for the content of this new mystery box.

Secondly here's a preview for the new blockbuster Prince of Persia the sands of time, based on the classic cult gaming franchise. One of my cult classic gaming franchises.

A 50 seconds preview from the movie, not a trailer/teaser!

On the good side: the screenplay was made by Jordan Mechner himself!I love the guy, and I'm pretty sure nobody else would have done a good transition job for this game-to-movie adaptation.

It seems to be mainly inspired by (the trilogy) Sands of Time. But it will draw aspects from the original PoP trilogy (1-Shadow of the Flame-3D) and even the last one (PoP 2008) as well.
The princess seems pretty based on Elika as a matter of fact, which is great : P

Finally, news of a Godzilla reboot/new saga seems be confirmed.
There were rumours of it. And since the original REAL japanese Godzilla already had many different incarnations, a reboot seemed logical after the last Godzilla: Final Wars.

These pics, supposed to be early shots of Godzilla new design, seem to be legit, despite some may say against it.

Enjoy:

Joss Whedon is awesome.

Since I'm not sure I'll be able to have my next review - my Street fighter review - online today,
here's a little update.

It's an awesome video from youtube made as an answer against the Restore Stephen Baldwin movement that this mister Baldwin launched to regain money since the guy's, well, broke.

Ignore Stephen Baldwin - Restore Joss Whedon instead!!

Pretty darn' random and awesome!

Oh, and if you haven't already, GO WATCH FIREFLY!!
Scrap that- watch it again if you already know it as well!

CBR Batman: Year One

And here's my very first comic book review on this blog!
I've picked up a cult favorite of mine for this one, so it would be a easy one to write about : P
I'll try picking up underrated great stuff and more mainstream ones as well.
You can also ask me comics to check for ya or to suggest!

Anyhow, let's start our look into...

MOVIE NEWS! Abrams and stuff

I'll admit it to you guys right away, I'm fascinated by J.J. Abrams!

As a director/writer/producer, he's one of the few modern guys in Hollywood who's willing to push the envelope of both movies and tv shows.
Few would have done what you can see on Alias or Lost, the risk to alienate mainstream audience by going on unexpected roads and turn of events.

I'm sure some of you (yes, you 4 or 5 reading this very line) wouldn't agree with me, maybe prefering watching an expected Hollywood blockbuster product such as Micheal Bay's Transformers 2 (seriously guys?? Come on!!)
But that why I like his stuff and respect Abrams.
Mainstream audience may have lost the plot of Lost (get it? hu hu hu..) or not followed Alias to the end, or not willing to embrace the fantastic aspect of Fringe expecting an X-files rehash... And it's only natural!
When you see mainstream audience prefer watching reality tv, sports, teen dramas and cliché sitcoms!

Anyway here's Abrams himself talking about mystery and showing a bit of his inner nerd:

Even if you hate what he's done so far, give this video a chance. ; )

I really like his spirit and opinion on mysteries.
Because that's what his stuff his about in the end, imagination.
Something that most people aren't interested in anymore now...

Well, after this long introduction here the real movie news!

There's a lot of rumours and expectations from Abrams lately.
He's rumoured to be doing an old school Alien movie/Spielberg tribute. It will have and draw a lot of inspiration from his favorite movies which are Spielberg 70/80 movies. (E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind) specially JAWS which Abrams said many times is his favorite movie.
It will use lots of practical effects (AWESOME!) and is supposed to be the Anti-Avatar, conceptually-wise. (small budget, practical, with real content...).

And there's a rumoured SUPER 8 movie, called just that way which is supposed to have a trailer attached to Ironman in America. This one is mostly unknown (subject) but it may just be that Alien/Spielberg tribute.

Plus, finally, there's another "rumour" about an Abrams-produced movie (not directing this one), which may turn out to be a Cloverfield-related movie. (a prequel? a sequel? a parallel story not on a shaky cam? another Kaiju movie?)

That's all for now!
I'm trying to have my first comic book review for later ; )

So yesterday was Star Wars day..?

...

Yes I missed it : P
It would have been a good day for more star wars posts... oh well!

Enjoy this awesome creative fun youtube video:

Amazing lego recap of the original trilogy!

Very well done! Kudos to the creators of this vid!^^

We live in such a cynical world nowadays...

I hate how nowadays people tend to hate everything or try to make everybody else aware of their hate against stuff.
You know, how people like to criticize this and that. For example in games or movies forums, going voluntary to topics about things they hate and then "sharing" their hate there...
They're such attention whores.

But what do I hate more than those spammers/lonely kids? How uncool it is to like something now.

I have no problems saying I like a movie or a book, be it good or even bad.
What's wrong in liking something a bit amateurysh or badly executed?
Movie exemple: not every director has to be Coppola or Kubrick! We would end up with tons of well made movies but boring!! There's no problem liking a B-movie, not just blockbusters!

Usually what you would hear people say or write instead would be:
I liked it in some degree...
Or in a tongue-in-cheek way...
A bad movie that was cheesy but fun...

Why would you like something as a guilty pleasure?? Can't you just like it. Period??
Are you that affected by the other's perception of yourself?

Usually people will say about something that is commonly treated as bad that they like it, because it's so bad that it's good.
There's some problem with this "guilty" mentality. Like an entertainment masochist, you like stuff because you call them bad.
Can't you just admit that you like those? That they're good, in your opinion.
We don't have all the same tastes nor opinion!

Be yourself! Don't follow the others like some stupid bipedal media sheep!
Have your own opinions, dammit!!

This message was brought to you by Eyz.
Eyz, who actually likes the original live action Street Fighter movie, even if it didn't follow the plot of the games, didn't have a good plot either and had a pretty mixed casting. The film was fun, enjoyable and Eyz would rewatch it any day over any current modern blockbuster!

Don't act like the others just to fit in.

GADOKEN!!!

I guess this is to announce officially I'll be making a FIGHTING MARATHON-Review!

So expect reviews of most (if not all) Street fighters from SF1 to SuperSF4!
AND
King of fighters, Fatal Fury, etc.. Rare franchises, cult franchises, 2D or 3D ones!

But I won't stop my current reviews for that, I'll try to alternate between those.

I still wanted to review such games as Resident Evil Code Veronica, Bayou Billy, Sonic, Segata Sanshiro, Monkey Island 3, Prince of Persia 3, Bonk 2, Red Dead Revolver....

Until next time, dudes and dudettes-
Alright bay-beeee~!!
