Booster Gold - daily sketch

What?!

It doesn't seem like I've posted a lot lately??

A'right!
Here's a Booster Gold drawing I did today, for the DailySketchChallenge over at the OoutcastStudios.

Deleted Scenes - Superman: Death & Disco

In the Superman movie history, there's been a lot off would-be movies starring big blue that never made it past the pre-production stages.

Including a 5th classic Superman movie with Reeves, a Tim Burton Superman movie, another Tim Burton take with Supes on a wheelchair, a Kevin Smith-written one also directed by Burton, a Superman/Batman movie and a hundred more concepts that we may never know about! (including at one point having Nic Cage as Superman himself!!)

With a new movie announced, directed by Zack Snyder, in the work, some scrapped projects have been revealed since some key players, directors or producers won't be involved anymore.

Very nice subtle redesign by BeyondComics.TV, a more colorful and faithful approach

Stan Lee interviews Rob Liefeld

EXTREEEEMEEE!!

Back in the 90s, comic book legend Stan Lee had a little video show were he used to interview other comic authors. It was called Comic Book Greats.

Well, since I watched some videos about Rob Liefeld not long ago (posted on the blog last week), I watched this interview Stan Lee did of Liefeld.

Very interesting video I posted below and thought it would be nice to have on the blog.
You may hate his style or the guy himself, but there's no denying this guy was genuinely in love with the medium and helped up boost sales during the 90s.
And the real problem with Leifeld is in my eyes how people kept buying more and more, and asking for even more, various artists trying to imitate his art style or copying it...and the whole industry went into this EXTREEEME!! direction just to emulate what this very young artists was doing.

Daniel Way

I did a post about Jeph Loeb a while ago...
And I wanted to do the same for some other comic book writers.

Today, our man is....

Daniel Way.

Cartoon NEWS! The JLI on B:TBATB

You're ready for this?
The JLI will come to be on Batman: The Brave And The Bold!
Well, a variation on the JLI. Though they'll stay as comedic and disfunctional as we  all remember them to be.

The Blue Beetle Ted Kords will be replaced by Jaime (like in the comics Generation Lost), this will mark J'onn and Ice's debut (Fire already appeared briefly once), Aquaman will join in the JLI for the first time (because he's so OUTRAGEOUS), they'll face Darkseid and his miniiioooons and another JLI episode will happen next season.

Here's a preview:

And some pics:

 Looks OUTRAGEOUS!!

Awesome! Can't wait!! Prepare your milk and Oreos~
Ice looks so darn' cute^^

Rob Liefeld - on Deadpool

Trolls like to hate on Rob Liefeld nowadays on teh interwebz..
But some years ago it was people buying his stuff that made him the super-popular artist he came to be!

Even his portrait screams EXTREEEEME!!

Anyway, I still find it quite impressive how a guy like him, I never did any art school, came to define the art direction of most comics from the 90s.
Sure he may had some problems with proportions and/or feet. But he never aimed to draw realistically (it's called "stylized").

Gamin' NEWS! New game by Toshihiro Nagoshi's team

Who's Toshihiro Nagoshi?
He's one of Sega's most iconic creative forces currently.

His studio ex-Sega AM4/then-Amusement Vision/now-Team CS1 (since they absorbed Smilebit, another ol' Sega studio) was behind the excellent fun series Super Monkey Ball and the ultra popular Yakuza series.

Here's a game for ya!
Follow Nagoshi's evolution from the 90s, through his success with Monkey Ball into his Yakuza series!

Anyway, they just revealed their brand new game with a teaser trailer!
And what will it be?
Another Yakuza?
Monkey Ball's debut for the next gen systems? (if only...)

No...nope... it's...

What?!

Binary Domain will be out on PS3 and Xbox 360 next year.
It seems to be a (pretty random if I may add) 3rd person over-the-top shooter with cliché action characters...
And...
So unexpected...

With his huge successes and lots of money he bring in to Sega, Toshihiro Nagoshi seems to be one of those rare developers who has more creative freedom than any other Sega in-house team leaders...
And he uses it to make this!

Bwahahaha! XD
I kinda already want it!

What's new on CoolApe dot com.

Don't miss out my new parodies @ CoolApe dot com!
I'm on Tuesday spots (yeah, I missed this yesterday!)

There's a lot of others more talented funny artists there making both videos and comics.

Anyway, my latest Bat-parody is right here.

Also, have a look at the classic Heroes! parodies (formerly Archers! Lanterns! etc..) currently being re-cut for CoolApe vertically. (with slight changes and arrangements), there.

Why I love watching Nic Cage movies

I love Nicolas Cage movies!
He's done some pretty kickass movies (Raising Arizona, Matchstick Men,..) some great blockbusters (Con Air, Face/Off, The Rock, National Treasure...) even great comedies (Honeymoon in Vegas, Family Man..)!

But people tend to hate/critize the guy for a minor bad movie or two...
