VGR Splatterhouse (2010)
Finally!
I said I would only review games I played through!
(heck, that's already a lot more thought put into my reviews than, say, Gamespot or IGN right there)
So after many hours put into Splatterhouse, the main game and most of its secrets explored...how is this new Splatterhouse game?
Did it live up the original franchise expectations?
Is it good, is it pretty?
And more importantly, is it any fun? (that's what entertainment's all about at hear, ya know?)
Let's see~

CBR Spider-Man 1602
I love Neil Gaiman.
His creativity, the way he plays with original and fun concepts and ideas.
For a long time already, I really wanted to try to read MARVEL 1602, his original all-new take on the Marvel Universe during "simpler times". A sort of "What if.." story, if the Marvel Universe stories took place in the 1600s.
But. For some reason I never got to read it.
I've always been a big fan of these "alternate universe", where things seem and look familiar, but the big picture throws out the window all our usual references.
So, like Marvel's 2099 universe, I decided to start with a similar character I'm used to. I used Spider-man as entry point back in the 90s for the "2099".
I finally 'got me the trade paperback collecting 1602's Spider-man's spinoff (not written by Neil Gaiman, but using a very similar narration and structure!)

If I talk to you about Justice League opening theme songs...
You probably think about this one:

And/or that other one:

Gamin' NEWS! Tea for two, and zombies for two.
Here's the launch trailer for Dead Rising 2: Case West, a sort of spinoff/DLC for Dead Rising 2 that doesn't require a copy of the game to be played (like Dead Rising 2: Case Zero which acted as a demo for DR2 on Xbox 360)
It's funny how it even has its own features that didn't made it into the actual Dead Rising 2 game.
Like co-op.
And Frank West - who has covered wars you know?
Frank strangely reminds me of Dan Aykroyd here.. Anyone else?

CBR Heroes, Inc. Presents Cannon
A while ago, after receiving by mail some comics I ordered over the web, I looked at my mail...and there it was...
A random comics I never heard of, thrown in the mix as a "gift".
The comics looked old, from the 50 or 60s probably. The pages were all turned yellow.
Was I a lucky "winner", did I get a super rare oldie? Or was this just some seller trying to get rid of something?
Let's dig in this book...
What did you do this weekend?!
Long time since I put up a review, right?
Well in the meantime, here's a little recap of this past weekend!

Gamin' NEWS! Batman Arkham City new trailer!
Here's a brand new trailer for Batman Arkham City straight from the VGA 2010!
I know everybody's fanboy-ing about this one.
And I loved the original game and all...
This CGi's quite pretty, sure, but I don't see no reason to be crazy about this new video more so than the past trailer! (also revealed at the VGA, in 2009)
It's not like it confirms Nightwing or Robin's appearance or something crazy like that.. Just a mysterious vague trailer with no gameplay whatsover, despite how nice this looks. Plus Hugo Strange's a nice bad guy, but not one of my favorites!...
Badass, sure, but I would have liked more. *not impressed with next gen or gritty stuff*

Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror - Remastered by Revolution Software, will be out soon on iPad / iPhone / iPod touch before Christmas and on PC & Mac "very early next year" in 2011 (probably on Wii too, and maybe DS as well, though not announced yet, or with the new DS coming out..they probably dropped it?).

Gamin' NEWS! BTTF website details!
The Back to the Future: The Game website at TellTale Games has now been updated with lots more new details and infos.
There's character profiles, more concept arts and specially, the important part for an adventure game, voice clips from the game!
AND.
It seems that Biff won't be voiced by Tom Wilson!!!
Which is plain stupid! X__X
I love the guy!
And he's a big part of the BTTF franchise for me, just as much as Doc/Christopher Lloyd or Marty/Michael J. Fox!!
Plus he's actually a voice actor now these days, having appeared in many shows/cartoons/movies and games goshdarn'!! He was in 2 Crash Bandicoot games and many more I won't spend the time quoting!
Well, there's still some time for it, it's an episodic game, many things may still change (like LeChuck's voice in TellTale's Monkey Island, which was changed for the non-human LeChuck in later episodes and the disc release )
Anyway, check out their page!

Fabian Nicieza - Interview on Red Robin
There's a very nice interview on Newsarama with one of my favorite writers, Fabian Nicieza!
It's about the current on-going comic Red Robin.
He talks about Tim Drake/Red Robin, what's to come, Cassandra Cain everyone's favorite ex-Batgirl and more!
"The Red Robin book is no longer about the training of a young hero, like the original Robin series was. It's about the decisions and actions that an established young hero takes in learning how to best wield the power and intelligence he has."
Check it out, yo!
Gamin' NEWS! Tron launch trailer, who'ya gonna call for this??

Deleted Scenes - Superman: Death & Disco
In the Superman movie history, there's been a lot off would-be movies starring big blue that never made it past the pre-production stages.
Including a 5th classic Superman movie with Reeves, a Tim Burton Superman movie, another Tim Burton take with Supes on a wheelchair, a Kevin Smith-written one also directed by Burton, a Superman/Batman movie and a hundred more concepts that we may never know about! (including at one point having Nic Cage as Superman himself!!)
With a new movie announced, directed by Zack Snyder, in the work, some scrapped projects have been revealed since some key players, directors or producers won't be involved anymore.

Stan Lee interviews Rob Liefeld
EXTREEEEMEEE!!
Back in the 90s, comic book legend Stan Lee had a little video show were he used to interview other comic authors. It was called Comic Book Greats.
Well, since I watched some videos about Rob Liefeld not long ago (posted on the blog last week), I watched this interview Stan Lee did of Liefeld.
Very interesting video I posted below and thought it would be nice to have on the blog.
You may hate his style or the guy himself, but there's no denying this guy was genuinely in love with the medium and helped up boost sales during the 90s.
And the real problem with Leifeld is in my eyes how people kept buying more and more, and asking for even more, various artists trying to imitate his art style or copying it...and the whole industry went into this EXTREEEME!! direction just to emulate what this very young artists was doing.

Cartoon NEWS! The JLI on B:TBATB
You're ready for this?
The JLI will come to be on Batman: The Brave And The Bold!
Well, a variation on the JLI. Though they'll stay as comedic and disfunctional as we all remember them to be.
The Blue Beetle Ted Kords will be replaced by Jaime (like in the comics Generation Lost), this will mark J'onn and Ice's debut (Fire already appeared briefly once), Aquaman will join in the JLI for the first time (because he's so OUTRAGEOUS), they'll face Darkseid and his miniiioooons and another JLI episode will happen next season.
Here's a preview:
And some pics:
Awesome! Can't wait!! Prepare your milk and Oreos~
Ice looks so darn' cute^^
