Gamin' NEWS! Sonic 20th Anniversary «Generations» Teaser Trailer

So here it is.

The first video of Sonic's 20th Anniversary game!

CBR JLA: Year One

Over the years, DC Comics released a lot of Year One titles.
Afte rthe big crisis of the 80s, the Post-Crisis DCUniverse was brand new to explore. Most books kept their old and classic roots (like the ongoings Green Lantern, Flash...), others were given a fresh start (Wonder Woman, Superman: The Man of Steel,...) as I already discussed in my Batman: Year One review.

As for DC's first team-up book, the Justice League, it wasn't clearly defined for a while. But with Batman keeping for himself in Gotham, Wonder Woman arriving late in "man's world" and Superman protecting the world all by himself the roots of the team wasn't as clear as it seemed.
That is where Mark Waid came in.

Gamin' NEWS! Green Lantern's light, in pixels

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters!
That's not the name of a sequel of the upcoming movie already.
That's the name of the game they're improvising making to coincide with the movie's release.

New template for the blog!

What do you think?

It was time to change things up a bit.
I guess I'll be tweaking it up alongside, this week.

So it goes better with my parody blog:

I made various versions of this background, featuring either only comic books stuff, movies stuff, gaming stuff, a mix of all, just Heroes! panels... I'll be using them be it on websites like ComicVine, etc..

- Eyz out~

Gamin' NEWS! Max Payne 3 continues to look awful

Remember this Max Payne 3 (above)?
Well, there's new infos + some new pics around.

So Rockstar, that already bastardized Red Dead (yeah, yeah.. I know you guys love it, but it doesn't have a thing to do with the arcadysh Red Dead Revolver) into a GTA mod will now be doing the same to the Max Payne series.
Now, listen to me. I wouldn't have a problem with these sequels they're turning into GTA-likes. Hell, if they were turned into original IPs or be spinoffs of GTA I wouldn't.
But they're simply using well known brands, established games that were successful to sell their new games.

Anyway - back to Max - this new game will follow-up the plot some years after MP2, as they said recently.
We'll be able to play with Max at various points, because time will have an impact on plot. A time-bending story?
I'm not sure what they're implying, if it's only the story that will be told in a non-linear way as past Max Payne games. Or if we'll actually affect the past and change the future or something...?

Anyway, here's new pics of an haired Max - that still doesn't look like Max nevertheless.

We'll be able to play with Sam Fisher/Splinter Cell's grandpa? Where's Max?!

Random NEWS! AHHHNNOOOOOOLD!!

Huh... Awesome?

This video is the first trailer for The Governator, an Arnold Schwarzenegger "documentary" cartoon from the mind of Stan Lee.

Cartoon NEWS! Thor : Blood Brothers Trailer

Like one Thor animated movie on direct-to-DVD/Bluray was enough....
There's another Thor animated flick coming up, this one won't be in cheap CGi but in classic 2D animation.

Thor: Tales of Asgard from Marvel Animation's studios. This one will hit the shelves on  May 17, 2011 and will be about Thor's early days, on Asgard long before he came to earth. Sort of a prequel to what we're used to with Thor's upcoming live movie/Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes' Thor/or Thor in the comics.

Alright.
...pretty much unexpected... kinda. I should have expected some more Thor related stuff coming these days :P

Looks decent..too bad it didn't follow the recent Thor: The Mighty Avengers comics! Perfect starting point for all things Asgard-related!
The art-direction's a bit too much anime-oriented for a comic book adaptation in my tastes.

ComicPageOfTheWeekend: Thorpool Vs. Thor

Memo for my blog:
Alright then! Let's get to it:

Gamin' NEWS! New Spidey game announced

Missed this one yesterday (blogging about it that is).

So, a new Spider-man game was announced from publisher Activision, heh?

Spider-Man: Edge of Time.

I feared another bland open-world sandbox type of game (I know, I know...lots of fanboys love Spider-man 2: the movie: the game). Seriously, once you played one of those, you've played them all.
Do you really want the same game getting released time after time after time again?
I rather have something new.
(I probably already posted my opinion on that, follow the label Spider-man or Activision)

Anyway, I was glad to discover it will be another game from the studio Beenox, responsable for Shattered Dimensions.

And it will be a sort of sequel to that previous game, we'll be able to play this time both classic Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 to correct a timestream gone awry and prevent a catastrophic future brought on by the early and untimely death of Peter Parker.

Two Spider-men they will be able to focus on? Nice!
Shattered Dimensions was my favorite Spidey game since the first 3D one (Spider-man available on Dreamcast/64/PS1 and PC). Most 3D games, as fun and nice as they were, always seemeed a bit repetitive and empty after a while. Plus helping red shirts through the city, racing across buildings and catching balloons didn't help me like the 3 Spider-man movie games. (Web of Shadows was a bit better, but soooo generic...seriously, the symbiotes craze must stop, we're not in the XTREME!! 90s anymore!)

"The first Spider-Man entry by Beenox, Spider-Man™: Shattered Dimensions was touted as one of the wall-crawler's best Spider-Man games to date from both critics and fans," said Vicharin Vadakan, Director, Global Brand Management. "Beenox is once again taking a fresh and different approach to bring a fast-paced and high-octane adventure and unexpected story to life in Spider-Man: Edge of Time."

"At Beenox, we are constantly listening to the fans and looking for new and creative ways to innovate the gameplay experience for them," said Dee Brown, Studio Head, Beenox.   "We want to create a totally distinct experience in Spider-Man: Edge of Time by working with Peter David on the story and creating this urgent, high-stakes experience where time is working against you and the fate of Spider-Man hangs in the balance."
Neat! :D
The game will be an action-packed adventure set in two connected and evolving timelines set against the backdrop of a tightly crafted narrative by acclaimed Marvel veteran Peter David (co-creator of Spider-Man 2099). The game also features an all-new "cause-and-effect" gameplay where players will see how immediate and sometimes unexpected effects of their actions as one Spider-Man changes the timeline of the other Spider-Man.

Let's hope this one will be good!
And Dan Gilvezan returns to voice O'Hara!
