Eyz Drawing + 8-bits tune - Kiki's "Message of Rouge"

Here's a new drawing for a change!
I wanted to draw Kiki from Hayao Miyazaki's classic movie Kiki's Delivery Service for some time :P

And since I was thinking about that..
I love the opening Rock 'n' Roll theme so much, that I uploaded an 8-bits version of it on my youtube channel:

It came out pretty good I think, surprisingly!

The opening tune of Studio Ghibli's "Kiki's Delivery Service", "Rouge No Dengon" (Message of Rouge).
A very fun 60s style japanese rock and roll song!
Once again done using FL Studio 8 with the plugin magical8bit to simulate the 8 bits sound.
Hope you like it ;)
(and that youtube won't screw up the sound too much as usual!)

Gamin' NEWS! The Walking Dead-game 1st pic

Remember all those games Telltale announced a while back?

Here's the first in-game picture of The Walking Dead!

And what can I say, besides the fact that it looks great!
This is in-game graphics? Boy, am I sure my computer won't be able to run that! XD
If Back to the Future was Telltale graphics at their cartooniest/stylized and the upcoming Jurassic Park is their take on a realistic direction...well Walking Dead looks like a pretty good compromised to look realistic and containt cartoony aspects.
I guess I see why they went this way, despite the color, it looks pretty close to the comic book series, specially with these light cell shading effects (see the darker parts on the guy's clothes, they way it appears like inked shadows).
Very nice! Also this is probably the best background I saw in a Telltale game!

The only awkward part that might or might not ruin it will be the animations, which has always been their weakest aspect. I mean, some people criticize Back to the Future graphics or direction... I liked it, reminded me of the old BTTF cartoon in a way. And it looked nice to be honest, those haters are just Gears of War-fanboys who want all video games to look the same (boring) way!
No, Telltale's main problem, besides easy puzzles/too accessible adventure games for the mainstream audience, has always been in the awkward animations which ruined a bit of BTTF's great character design. And might ruin the above look of Walking Dead...
I hope they really work hard on that.. (zombies won't be that hard to move around, so they can concentrate on the human survivors...right?...)

Also, they confirmed they would work on importing data from one episode to another, something that had lots of problems in BTTF:

"Characters that die in one game in Episode 1 will stay dead, or if the player keeps them alive, they'll reappear in later episodes."  - Jake "Rodford" Rodkin
Good to hear!
In BTTF you were supposed to chose Marty McFly's alias during the prohibition era, which should have carried over the other episodes...but it didn't work that well so everyone ended being called Michael Corleone over the other episodes. (though I heard some were able to have some "Harry Callahan" slips into one or two dialogues...Telltale usual bugs and glitches..)

ToeJam & Earl 3: Character Select

Why am I posting this?
Well, one, because I've always been a SEGA fan at heart, and two, because I dig ToeJam & Earl - as underrated or obscure those guys are nowadays.

Here's the character selection screen from the 3rd episode, which came out on the original Xbox around it's launch day:

(and if it looks like it was blocked from youtube, go watch it there!)

Funky!

The original on the Megadrive was pretty "Hip Hop"! And it had this look, like a sort of parody/homage to early rap from the 90s.
Well, the third one in 3D, using the same idea, turn Earl and ToeJam into parodies of rappers from the 2000s. But funnier :P

Movie NEWS! Catwoman - first look!

Warner Bros just delivered our first look at the new Superman.
Here's some news on the Batman front as well.

More precisely, the first look at Anne Hathaway in the role of Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Christopher Nolan's upcoming The Dark Knight Rises.

AAAANND...I'm officially worried about the direction this flick is going to.
Bane left me skeptical, but this...

And don't FANBOY at me. Good director or not, good cast or not, a movie is the sum of its part, from design/story to post-production.

About the "Bat-tumbler-bike" thingie, or whatever it's called, I'm pretty sure she stole it from Bats, kinda the same way the Catwoman from Tim Burton flick did steal some tech from her foes (the electrocutioner comes to mind), perhaps it's even the one

FanRemake - Castlevania in HD

This guy, rickonami, remade the original Castlevania's intro in HD:

Neat!
1 minute here and it was already better than that whole "new" Castlevania game!!

TV NEWS! TRON Cartoon preview!

It seems I wrote my Tron Legacy review just in time!

Here's Tron: Uprising preview trailer from the ComicCon, released just now officially.
What a coincidence!

Yes it will feature a unique mixture of 2D (characters) and 3D (The Grid).
It will follow Beck (voiced by Elijah Wood), the program who leads the uprising on The Grid. The whole thing takes place right before the film Tron: Legacy.
Also lending their voices to this series are Lance Henriksen, Mandy Moore, Bruce Boxleitner and Paul Reubens.

The 10-part micro series will air on Disney XD this fall, and then pick up for a regular spot in the summer of 2012.

MR Tron Legacy

For a very long time since the 80s, director and Tron-creator Steven Lisberger had been trying to launch a sequel to his beloved cult movie. But since the series had never really been a big mainstream hit, a sequel never was on Disney's top priorities. That is, until now!

Lisberger pitched many, many screenplays these last decades.
On top of these were mostly stories featuring either the son of Alan Bradley or the son of Kevin Flynn, in case the original actors were starting to get older for the roles and/or wouldn't manage to be part of the new movie.

The former ended up serving as basis for the Tron video game.
This movie is about the plot following the son of Flynn.

Most of these scripts were either called Tron 2.0 or Tron Legacy - which are in my opinion, quite catchy names and fitting for this universe.

Let's check out the sequel called Tron Legacy~

Movie NEWS! First pic of Superman

And here's our first look at the new Superman/Henry Cavill in the role:

So, what are you guys expecting of Superman: Man of Steel?

Positive feeling? Wrong direction?
I for one love the big S-shield logo! It was so small in Superman Returns (and let's not even mention the deceiving Smallville glimpse in the lackbuster ending).
The cape's huuuuge too!

The texture of the clothes kinda annoys me though (Hollywood designers sure do love to add all these sorts of useless details...)

The question now is.... red underoos or not??
