Nobody knows what to expect with Evangelion:3.0 + 1.0. Apart that Anno's gone crazy and nothing makes sense anymore.. or does it?
I can't believe these Rebuild of Evangelion films have started over a decade ago, back in 2007 to be precise. And while we're still far off the conclusion of the series - set to hit theaters in Japan on June 2020 - it's finally turning into a reality.
After a short teaser trailer, here's another one! Still very confusing.
Let's wait and see how far off this reinterpretation/departure ends up:

#AnimeNEWS Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 AVANT1@shinjuku
We finally have a first look at the long-awaited Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 4th "Rebuild" film! And it looks as weird, crazy and bonkers as the rest of Anno's cult series:
Neo Paris?
Things are gonna get stranger than ever, fans are going to be left puzzled with the meaning of all this in this conclusion to the entire EVA franchise, apparently still slated to be released in 2020.

#AnimeNEWS Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 coming in 2020
This is as good a news as we'll ever get with Anno.
The 4th and final long-awaited Evangelion reboot movie, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0, will be released in 2020 apparently:
The last film in the "Rebuild" series, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, was released back in 2012. But then Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno got sidetracked with Shin Godzilla...

#MakingOf Shin Godzilla
Here's a surprisingly interesting look at the behind the scenes of Hideaki's Anno's Shin Godzilla (aka Godzilla Resurgence):
I really dig the creepy tone closer to the original Godzilla '54 the film is going for. And all that is CGi?? Could have fooled me, it looks like actual costumes and miniature props!!
And yes, that's some Evangelion music. Which is in the actual Shin Godzilla film! Of course Anno's just using this film as test footage for his eventual live action Evangelion film!

#KaijuNEWS New SHIN GODZILLA trailer!
This new trailer for Hideaki Anno's Japanese Godzilla reboot looks great. I like the return to the original "freak accident" Godzilla the film seems to be going for:
Also, definitively feeling that Evangelion vibe in the trailer! He's probably using this Godzilla film as test footage for his eventual NGE live action film.

ittle bits of Hideki Anno and Shinji Higuchi’s Shin Godzilla (aka Godzilla Resurgence)—inclu
Did you like the 2014 American adaptation of Godzilla by Gareth Edwards for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures? Well, great. Now's time for the first Japanese-made Godzilla film by Toho in over a decade!
This new film Shin Godzilla/aka Godzilla Resurgence will be a collaboration between Neon Genesis Evangelion creator Hideki Anno and Shinji Higuchi Japanese FX legend who's responsible for the fantastic 1990s Gamera Trilogy and Mothra & King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack in 2001. And here's the first proper trailer:
The film appears to have a strange blend of retro-classic costume Godzilla mixed with modern touches of special effects. It actually looks exactly like I imagined a collab between Anno and Shinji Higuchi would look like.
And it also has a fairly strange sinister vibe to it. The way this Godzilla looks so monstrous, slowly walking like this without flinching. Doesn't it remind you of the Angels attacks in EVA??

I really wanted my last review of the year to be a "2015 Special Review".

#Kaiju NEWS! First poster for Godzilla Resurgence
So this just in.
Toho released their first poster for their upcoming own reboot of the Japanese Godzilla series. And it looks freaking GREAT!!
The movie was originally titled "Shin Godzilla", as in "new Godzilla", but it has apparently been renamed Godzilla Resurgence for international release. I'm fine with that.
I like the creepy bestial googly look. It's a nice throwback to the original 54 Godzilla actually, unlike the recent American reboot which was closer to the showa or heisei films with too much focus on the humans/the Mutos instead of the big G himself.
They also released a first teaser trailer, but it's a big waste of time:
Found footage, a lot of panic, but no Godzilla himself.
For reminder the movie is co-directed by Hideaki Anno (creator of Evangelion!!) and Shinji Higuchi (the man behind the fantastic 1990s Gamera trilogy), and it will be out on July 29, 2016 in Japan.

RR Neon Genesis Evangelion (anime)
The year is 2015. The place: Tokyo-3.

We take a break from our Halloween Marathon for the occasion. It all began exactly 20 years ago, on October 4.
Here's a great cult classic series that got so complicated, even the people making it had no idea what it was really talking about anymore...

#Ad - Schick X Evangelion
In between two Rebuild of Evangelion films, Gainax/Studio khara partnered with Schick to make some well thought product placements. Or not.
I dunno for you... but for some reason Rei smiling so much at Gendo's freshly shaved face is making me feel unconformable... *needs a shave*
Here's the video commercial, in its native Japanese:
...so that's what the first angel really looks li- waitaminute!!
Gendo's pretty scary without a beard. I mean, even more so than usually.
*Totally seriously thinking about buying these*
What!?!
And while we're at it, here's a recent similar ad they did with Attack on Titans/Shingeki no Kyojin:
Because RANDOM! That's why!

CBR Neon Genesis Evangelion (manga)
Since the story took place in the year 2015, I thought it would be a nice opportunity to review the entire series this year. Let's begin with the sadly under-appreciated manga series!

It's the story of this kid living the dream of every otaku, but still crying about the fact his father doesn't love him all the time...
