 Did you miss Legendary's MonsterVerse? Well, since the last Covid-released film they kinda slowed down... but here's the next chapter titled :

Who will be the villain? Lots of speculations depending which crowd you hang with. Average Joe youtube comments, kaiju websites/wikias, American blockbuster fans on reddit.. anyway, I've read everything from new original Legendary creations to returning hairy-version MUTOs, Son of Kong-style white-haired Kong, an alien, a Legendary version of a classic Toho monster (Gargantuan, Gigan, Space G, Destroyah even someone mentioning Biollante.. but I don't see that shape turning out to be a plant..)

Notice how this is not titled Godzilla Vs. Kong 2 but Godzilla X Kong.. Hmm.. I'm calling it, an hybrid Kong/Zilla mutant.

This new Godzilla anime series looks pretty good.

Hey, they're even bringing back JET JAGUAAAAAA!!!

Titled Godzilla: Singular Point, directed by Atsushi Takahashi and produced by Bones Studio and Orange Co. The series follows two young geniuses, Mei Kamino and Yun Arikawa, as they work together to stop the rising Kaiju threat.

 Check out this first trailer, full of quick glimpses of kaijus!! Looking neat so far!

I'd rather have a new feature film instead of a series (I can't keep up with episodes...), but this is looking nice.

The best looking CGi animated feature film isn't coming from Disney/Pixar or France.. but from Japan! I'm really looking forward to this aesthetically pleasing charming new Lupin III: The First film. It's full of style and personality.

Toho is really outdoing themselves! I also love the fact they actually kept the original theme song, for once. Check this new teaser trailer:



The film will premiere in Japan on December 6th.

#AnimeNEWS Godzilla: Monster Planet debut trailer!

After the success of the modern American Godzilla reboot, quickly followed by Anno's fantastic gritty reimagining of Godzilla, there's more!

The Americans are busy building up a monsterVerse culminating in Godzilla Vs. King Kong round 2!

And in Japan, there's the very first proper Godzilla anime feature film coming up!

The film's called Godzilla: Kaiju Wakusei/Godzilla: Monster Planet. It's a CGi anime film, expected for November.

And here's the debut trailer!



The story will take place thousands of years into the future, in a world used of Kaijus. Godzilla has been running free across the Earth for ages. Humans want to take back the planet from the monsters...

Looks promising so far! Kind of an escalation from IDW's current comics.

#MakingOf Shin Godzilla

Here's a surprisingly interesting look at the behind the scenes of Hideaki's Anno's Shin Godzilla (aka Godzilla Resurgence):



I really dig the creepy tone closer to the original Godzilla '54 the film is going for. And all that is CGi?? Could have fooled me, it looks like actual costumes and miniature props!!

And yes, that's some Evangelion music. Which is in the actual Shin Godzilla film! Of course Anno's just using this film as test footage for his eventual live action Evangelion film!

This new trailer for Hideaki Anno's Japanese Godzilla reboot looks great. I like the return to the original "freak accident" Godzilla the film seems to be going for:



Also, definitively feeling that Evangelion vibe in the trailer! He's probably using this Godzilla film as test footage for his eventual NGE live action film.

Did you like the 2014 American adaptation of Godzilla by Gareth Edwards for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures? Well, great. Now's time for the first Japanese-made Godzilla film by Toho in over a decade!

This new film Shin Godzilla/aka Godzilla Resurgence will be a collaboration between Neon Genesis Evangelion creator Hideki Anno and Shinji Higuchi Japanese FX legend who's responsible for the fantastic 1990s Gamera Trilogy and Mothra & King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack in 2001. And here's the first proper trailer:



The film appears to have a strange blend of retro-classic costume Godzilla mixed with modern touches of special effects. It actually looks exactly like I imagined a collab between Anno and Shinji Higuchi would look like.

And it also has a fairly strange sinister vibe to it. The way this Godzilla looks so monstrous, slowly walking like this without flinching. Doesn't it remind you of the Angels attacks in EVA??

#Kaiju NEWS! First poster for Godzilla Resurgence

So this just in.

Toho released their first poster for their upcoming own reboot of the Japanese Godzilla series. And it looks freaking GREAT!!

The movie was originally titled "Shin Godzilla", as in "new Godzilla", but it has apparently been renamed Godzilla Resurgence for international release. I'm fine with that.

I like the creepy bestial googly look. It's a nice throwback to the original 54 Godzilla actually, unlike the recent American reboot which was closer to the showa or heisei films with too much focus on the humans/the Mutos instead of the big G himself.

They also released a first teaser trailer, but it's a big waste of time:



Found footage, a lot of panic, but no Godzilla himself.

For reminder the movie is co-directed by Hideaki Anno (creator of Evangelion!!) and Shinji Higuchi (the man behind the fantastic 1990s Gamera trilogy), and it will be out on July 29, 2016 in Japan.

#Kaiju NEWS! New badass Godzilla game gets a ton of kaijus!!

Remember the recently announced badass PS3-only Godzilla game?

Well it's gonna be released this December. They also announced a ton of Heisei-era Godzilla foes that will join the fight such as King Ghidorah, Mothra, Biollante, Space Godzilla... Heck, old favorite Showa monsters are going to make it - Jet Jaguar! YES!!!

This is starting to look like the worthy successor of the 128-bit era games Save the Earth/Destroy All Monsters/Unleashed!



It was originally supposedly mostly based on the recent US reboot, but I'm loving the old school monsters they finally decided to cram in there!
