I started watching this random ad..........and....it worked on me. Got somehow emotional, imagined what an actual good Back to the Future sequel could be like... man I was so into this stupid video...which turned out to be a teaser...for a commercial.

The best SuperBowl trailer has easily been this random Ryan Gosling film (?). It feels random, I thought it was a parody or a random ad for a product. But turns out it's a really film.

There's been a surge of new Sega announcements lately making me believe we might be actually seeing a Sega revival play out, considering the last few remasters and indie sequels they also produced.
I've updated this bingo card with the 5 new announced titles, but not the licenced renewed, let's wait to see some concrete announcements first.
This is the Sega revival I hoped after the post-Dreamcast era when Sega was pumping out a ton of titles on Gamecube, Xbox and PS2 (and GBA), but which kinda didn't take...
And we almost got it around the 2010s with a bunch of compilations and 3DS remakes, but that died as well..
Here's my Bingo card. I make a clear distinction between remakes/remasters, which is nice but doesn't bring anything new I couldn't play on my classic Sega consoles, and actual new game installments. For example, I still hope to see a proper new Alex Kidd with brand new worlds and stages to explore. And Shenmue got both (but you can still bring us Shenmue 4!).
Let's see if we can complete a line or column!
Also none of the series that keep Sega alive, like Sonic, Yakuza.. There's always some new Shining in Japan.. not counting the Phantasy Star Online games which took over the classic Phantasy Star series. It's my selection of favorite Sega franchises.
When since I'm in a Mike Myers trip right now, we might as well look back at his 2021 Wayne's World Superbowl commercial and his recent 2022 Austin Powers one, it's the closest we'll get to actual sequels. But, hey, if Bill & Ted can have a 3rd film... who knows.. right?
Here's another random blog update.
So I just received Sonic's infamous recent encyclopedia, aka Sonic's "Encyclo-Speed-ia". And it's a lovely big, long, well-put document full of trivia and details across the entire series, from classic handheld 8-bit games to obscure arcade titles, as well as the various modern mobile phone games, etc. It's only oddly missing the media like cartoons (old and new), the comics and the recent movie, for some reason. But it does mention or refer those. There's even little nods to the series long-running continuity here and there.
Anyways, I thought I'd share some of it.
I wouldn't necessary recommend this to anyone but the extreme long-time fans.

This is the best video I've seen this entire summer, so far. And I'm not even joking or hyperboling. I even had a few tears - honest - at the end segment.

Xenocider, a lovely homebrew/indie title that can best be summarized as a love letter/tribute to Space Harrier! And it’s in full 3D! Awesome!
Unrelated, I finally received my copy of SamSho Neo Geo Collection on the Switch from Limited Run, lovely Neo Geo Special Edition as well:

Gremlins! GREMLINS!! GREMLINS EVERYWHERE!!
While people are getting hyped for a new Gremlns entry, the currently announced animated series, Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, I would personally have preferred a new live action films featuring puppets.
Hey, but at least the show sees the return of some actors to voice on the show as well as Joe Dante supervising the whole thing.
But, hey, I do think it shouldn't cost that much to have actual puppets. Several commercials over he decades featured Gremlins and they mostly always looked on par with the films.
Here's the latest to date, for Mountain Dew. Which was made to hype the actual upcoming Secrets of the Mogwai cartoon, but is the closest thing we'll ever get to a proper Gremlins 3:
Awesome! This makes me hope we actually get the third film actually.. Even his daughter has her own mogwai in this future? I'm sold!
