A new Dead or Alive was just randomly announced, right before E3!

While the game looks more or less exactly like DOA5 visually and design wise, with the slightly more realistic less-anime-ysh approach, the bump in overall details is a nice update.

They said the game will be more serious and mature than past games. Trying to go back to the series former glory? For all the nerds and otakus complaining about a fighting game trying to be taken seriously again.. did you just start gaming? They did say the exact same PR stuff word-for-word for the launch of DOA4 and DOA5 (remember "I'm a Fighter"??). Also, I would love to mention DOA in the same breath as Tekken or Street Fighter, it's not a newcomer but a long-running veteran series now! I often consider it a "B-movie" tier fighting game series. (But that's also my issue with how basic and simple the gameplay is..)

If DOA's gonna be more serious... Can we get more proper links between Dead or Alive and the Ninja Gaiden series? Not just costumes and cameos but full on shared story? That would help bump the story of this fighting game in a day and age where Mortal Kombat redefined the standard for good fighting game story. Also, DOA5's story mode was really awful...

Anyways, expect more gameplay on E3 and a release by the end of the year on PS4, X1 and PC.

So, DEAD OR ALIVE 5 Last Round is still a thing. The game will receive some surprising DLCs this September, in the form of an Attack on Titans pack (!!!!!).

And more surprisingly, the game will also receive Mai Shiranui from SNK's King of Fighters series as a DLC character!



Shouldn't they just go ahead and turn this game into a Dead or Alive X Virtua Fighter X King of Fighters at this point?? I'd buy that ASAP!!

#Fighting NEWS! Original DOA1 boss Raidou is back in Dead or Alive 5 Last Round!

Yes, that is news-worthy! Heck, I decide whatever's newsworthy 'round here! Ha!

Tecmo Koei announced the latest character to join the Xth update Dead or Alive 5 Last Round on the Xbox One and PS4 in the form of... Raidou! The original boss from the very first DOA game!

Since he was killed, and apparently they wanna keep his return "canon" (but really.. what's the point? the plot's already pretty convulsed at this point... a clone would have made more sense in fact!) - Raidou will now be mostly part-cyborg, amnesiac, and out for revenge against all the ninjas in the game!

#Gaming NEWS! DOA decides its time for another re-release!

Dead or Alive decides to jump into the current "next gen" of consoles, with yet another update!

Titled Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, it's basically the same as the last one ("Ultimate"). Only it will be available for both PS4 and Xbox One (and fanboys are already crying and asking for a PC port - it's a Japanese-developed game, so don't hold your breath...).



From the looks of things it will include all previous DLC (characters,..). And apparently costume DLCs will be transferable over that version. (Honestly gang, anyone seriously buy those???)

#Zelda NEWS! a bunch of Hyrule Warriors trailer

It's been far too long since I last posted any trailer from KoeiTecmo's Hyrule Warriors. I kept a fairly close eye on it, but just didn't figure I had to really say much about it.

Sure it looks like any previous Dynasty Warriors game, with a Zelda skin. But you have to admit the "Zelda skin" is the game's best selling point. Plus it's nice to have all these classic Zelda character in one big package.

There's a new trailer for Dead Or Alive 5 out there!

This new trailer showcases Rig, the new character, and Bass Armstrong!
Fighting in this all-new level:



Besides the fact he seems to have a pretty "classic" background for a fighting game character, his gameplay doesn't look half bad.
Rig is amnesic, and decides to call himself like that because that's apparently where he woke up at first. (smelling a SF4's Abel-type of connection to the final boss comin' up here...)
He is a Canadian Tae Kwon Do fighter, which brings another style and country to the series' roster, which is nice.

The only surprise "left" in the roster now might be the long-rumored appearance of another Virtua Fighter character, Pai Chan.
