SDCC started.
While there's been some news regarding upcoming comics and stuff, I've been mostly reading through the first impressions and opinions on some expected upcoming new TV shows.
There's a bit of all the genres I like. Some new scifi stuff, some new drama/thrillers, some new superheroes even.
Let's see...
First up, my most anticipated new series is probably Arrow.
This will mark Ollie's first series, live or not!
It seems that from the reactions around, it will mostly follow closely Mike Grel's origin - with a bit of modernization inspired by Jock and Andy Diggle's Year One.
The rich playboy Oliver Queen ends up on an island, learns to survive, comes back to
It will take some cues from Batman Begins - obviously. With the usual free style" interpretations.
Like Ollie's been with Dinah's sister (?) who seems to have a drug addiction (like his sidekick Roy Harper in the comics?) and because of that she's got that nickname "Speedy" (oh... I can see where this is going...)
Anyway, lots of gritty voiceovers, some crime fighting and it seems decent enough quality might make this show quite interesting!
Then there's Revolution.
J.J. Abrams' new epic drama/thriller.
This one will have more of a post-apocalyptic flavour.
Something mysterious happened, no more electric power around.
Like all Abrams pilots, we'll get to see a plane crash (what's with that btw?!).
It will be more of an adventure oriented show compared to past Bad Robot productions.
You can already decern some of the usual tropes, like the "Han Solo" of this show and whatnot from the trailers.
The show will features the usual on-going mysteries and character-based drama.
Then, there's 666 Park Avenue.
What is it?
An horror/thriller series. Mostly keeping an eye on this one cause it features Terry O'Quinn I admit!
People living in an "evil" apartment building at 999 Park Avenue, everybody who lives there has sold their or something...
Not much interested, but hopefully it will turn out good.
First impressions have been saying that Terry O'Quinn is acting like Evil Locke from the final season of Lost in this, so it already sounds good to me! And spooky stuff and drama.
It might not be this generations Twin Peaks, but we'll see!
~
And that is it for now!~
Sadly.. No sign of the live Booster Gold on-going series?...
Warner Bros/DC, you disappoint me.... :/
