Lately, the latest crazy bit of new in the media has been about Superman.
Yes, the fictional DC comic book character.
I guess it had been slow news day at FoxNews..
Anyway, they've all been going crazy about a little back-up story from David Goyer in Action Comics #900.
While it was a book about Supes going against a savage monster, Doomsday, the little feature by Goyer featured the above panels, of Superman "just saying" he renounced his American citizenship.
Coming after the "event" grounded where Supes was seen walking to reconnect with the people he uses to protect, I doubt this will have any lasting effect.
Yet the media had to go on a rampage like they usually do with Superman comics (Death of Superman anyone?)
Here it is:
Seriously guys? Ease up the coffee!
It's just a sidestory and not like we should care about Superman citizenship. First, isn't he an alien from the overall point of view of Metropolis/the world's population?
Secondly, he's just an act, Clark Kent's superheroic alter-ego. Not like a real person (it's not like Clark will renounce HIS citizenship!). Clark Kent's the real guy, Superman not. He grew up as Clark, and was educated as Clark, Superman is just Clark Kent's idea of a super hero.
And thirdly, he's a goshdarn' fictional character!!
But when Johnny Storm died, nobody was there to mention it :/
