So a new Batman Arkham game has been announced from Warner Bros. Games Montreal.
They will be taking over Rocksteady Studios this time.
It's called Batman: Arkham Origins. And as the title brilliantly announces it, it's going to be a prequel. Yay!
...or nay!
I mean, I'm all for more great 3rd person action games OR DC proprieties OR simply more Batman. But again? Couldn't they ditch the Arkham from the title? Prequel or Sequel, why not simply call it "Batman Gotham City"??
Or.. right... The previous games sold quite well. It's just for $$$.
Anyways.
Here's a little teaser-thing from Game Informer:
It's expected for October 25 on Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC, etc.
And by "etc." I mean there's also a spinoff-affair "Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate" for 3DS and Vita. This one will be playable in "2.5D" and more of a Metroid clone.
It all sounds fine and dandy.. but...
Well, the costume looks awfully way to Christopher Nolan-esque for my taste...
Recently there were some rumors Rocksteady was working on a third Batman game. Supposedly the Silver Age Batman, with blue costume and tons of villains and all. Campy or not. And you know what? That sounded great, in my opinion. That would have been different. This above sounds like we're getting "Arkham City again", and from different developers. Sure, "Wait and see" and all that.
My guess is that Warner canceled the Silver Age game for more of the same. Sigh.
I suppose we'll hear more from that SA Batman game, probably in another one of my DeletedScenes posts!
