Hey Eyz! Whatcha gonna watch this season? [2013-14 Edition!]

It's THAT time of the year again!

A lot of fan favorite TV shows have ended this past year, due to cancelations and whatnot.

Sadly I've been myself watching less and less TV drama lately and more and more cartoons instead for some reason(?).

There's also a lot of upcoming new stuff, but I'll probably wait around to see what survives past Season 1...

Without further ado, here's my own picks for this season 2013-2014!
A lot of personal favorites have ended. Fringe is over... 30 Rock as well. Futurama got canceled (again...). Go On, Motorcity, Tron Uprising, ThunderCats are all canceled. The Office (US) and a couple others ended. Curb Your Enthusiasm is taking a little break until Larry David gets motivated. The fantastic Looney Tunes Show has finished it's originally planned 2 Seasons, let's hope it gets a third.

So let's have a look at what is actually running which I will probably be following this year:

Syfy's WAREHOUSE 13
While Alphas got canceled on an unresolved cliffhanger, Syfy will be giving a finaly 6-episode long last season 5 for Warehouse. Good news since I wanted some actual resolution for the last hanging storylines.

Syfy's HAVEN
The only current on-going Syfy series I'm following is Haven. Glad to see it returning Sep. 13 for Season 4!

CASTLE
Nathan Fillion will return for a 6th Season of this awesome comedy/thriller/detective show on Sept 23! Can't hardly wait!

PSYCH
Psych's actual Season 8 is scheduled for next year. But Season 7's last "Musical Episode" will air on Dec. 15.

UNDER THE DOME
Based on the book of the same name, Under the Dome is a new Stephen King-inspired, Steven Spielberg-produced series developed by writer Brian K. Vaughan no less! If that doesn't sound appealing enough, think it will be like The Simpson Movie but with more drama and less cartoons. It actually started this summer already.

REVOLUTION
Honestly I'm still not 100% sold on JJ Abrams' Revolution. Badly paced, 2-dimensional stereotypical characters, dumb plots... Yet I still watched it on and off. (still have some episodes aside to catch on). But looks like I will probably check out Season 2 which will debut Sep 25.

PERSON OF INTEREST
I really enjoyed Person of Interest but I still need to catch on Season 2. Season 3 will debut Sept. 24. And Ubisoft's videogame Watch Dogs will probably motivate me to go back to PoI.

ALMOST HUMAN
Almost Human is a new Abrams-produced Bad Robot television series. From the pitch it sounds like a futuristic buddy-cop movie with a robot partner. Meh. I'll check it out comes Nov. 4.

WALKING DEAD
The fantastic The Walking Dead will return Oct. 13! What a nice Halloween-ysh timing! The show's been going downhill and uphill depending on the episodes. There's a lot of awful fillers, but thankfully also nice action-packed creepy episodes in and between. They really lost something when Frakn Darabont left...

ARROW
Say what you want, I like this incarnation of Green Arrow! Arrow is a fun well done show most of the time, and sometimes a really dumb silly stupid teen drama.. sigh... The show will return Oct. 9 with the City of Heroes storyarc opening Season 2 and it promises us the League of Assassins and even The Flash this year!!

Speaking of which...

FLASH
The producers of Arrow hope to not only launch a "Silver Age" of live action TV superheroes with Barry Allen appearing on Arrow, but also spin off an entire new Flash TV show. I personally really liked the 1990s live action The Flash and consider Arrow this generation's Flash. So lets hope they don't actually shy from supercostumes and supervillains on a possible new Flash.

AMAZON
Another possible new DC character coming to TV is Wonder Woman. Let's hope it's miles better than that awful recent Wonder Woman pilot...

BOOSTER GOLD
Still no news regarding Booster Gold, sadly. Only that it's still "coming" and will be aired on Syfy instead of the CW.

S.H.I.E.L.D.
Joss Whedon's return to TV! Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is an Avengers-tie-in series that will focus on the returned-to-life Phil Coulson and his team of secret agents. It starts Sep. 24.

COMMUNITY
Great mews, Community fans! Creator Dan Harmon is back for this Season 5 returning mid-season! On the downside, Donald Glover and Chevy Chase won't be back..

PARKS & REC
Parks and Recreation is also back thankfully! (enough canceled good comedies, NBC!!) I can't believe it's Season 6 already! It starts Sep 26.

HELLO LADIES
An HBO show based on Stephen Merchant's awesome stand-up tour will debut on Sep 29!

MICHAEL J FOX SHOW
Speaking of NBC, the only promising new show from their entire catalog this Season - all genres - seems to be this upcoming The Michael J. Fox Show. Michael J. Fox back on TV? Sign me in! I don't even need to check the pitch! Sep. 26 as well.

Speaking of Michael J Fox,

RICK AND MORTY
I get a Back To The Future vibe from a cartoon developed by Community's Dan Harmon. Rick and Morty will tell the adventures of a kid and his crazy grandpa, through space and time! It will air on [adult swim] by the end of the year it seems.

LOUIE
What's taking so long to Louis C.K.? Season 4 starts in May 2014!

DEREK
After airing in the US, Ricky Gervais was able to get a 2nd season commissioned! No news as of now.

STAR WARS
Star Wars Rebels is the show that will take over Clone Wars. I still think Disney should have let them conclude that story properly instead of move ahead with a new series (Ahsoka, anyone?). Dave Filoni will once again produce this new CGi show. Since it takes place between Episode 3 and 4, and will be about the hunter Jedis, I hope it's really a continuation of Clone Wars... It will start in 2014.

DC NATION
Warner's still producing a lot more new awesome animation based on DC Comics. Some of my favorite are finally starting to get their well deserved debut such as the Doom Patrol and The Metal Men!

TEEN TITANS
Let the haters hate! I love Teen Titans Go! Random songs, funny cameos and well paced "Cartoon Network" humor! They already got their 2nd season confirmed due to great ratings.

THE SIMPSONS
Will Season 25 finally be The Simpsons swan song? Well, they are already talking about continuing up to Season 30... So.. it's unclear at the time. Let's just watch how imaginative and creative they can get this year. Wait and see. Starts Sep. 29.

ADVENTURE TIME
Adventure Time's extended Season 5 is still going on at this time. But Season 6's been confirmed so we can all sit back, relax and enjoy!

BRAVEST WARRIORS
This one's a web-exclusive, but I'm also including it here. They announced a Season 2 yet no release date, but we can enjoy the current minisodes in the meantime.

GRAVITY FALLS
Gravity Falls was renewed but Season 2 will only air late 2014. In the meantime some Gravity Falls shorts will begin October 14 to help fans wait along.

STEVEN UNIVERSE
This looks promising. Steven Universe is a new animated cartoon on Cartoon Network, developed by former Adventure Time storyboard artist/writer/composer Rebecca Sugar. Loving the originality and unique style I've seen of it so far. Looks pretty fun!

DAN VS.
The only show from The Hub I watch. Dan Vs. is like an awesome twisted reverse-My Name Is Earl. Taking vengeance while crossing people off a list of people to hate. Genius! Show's currently on hiatus but one of the creator said Season 4 is still coming.

REGULAR SHOW
A literal tribute to the 1980s in the style of Cartoon Network shows from the past. Season 5 just started!

MICKEY MOUSE
I've also been particularly enjoyed this new take on Mickey Mouse, airing on the Disney Channel. Most of the first Season already aired, but it's still going on. It's a nice return to the 1930s style of humor.

TMNT
Nickelodeon's take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles proved very successful. No wonder Season 2 will start as soon as late this month (no indication when exactly).

VENTURE BROS
[adult swim] greatest show The Venture Bros. Season 6 won't be start anytime soon. Apparently the earliest they can aim for is fall 2014/early 2014!

ROBOT CHICKEN
Nobody expected it, not even Seth Green. But apparently the stop-motion parody skits show will be back for a Season 7 later this year!

THE MOANING OF LIFE
I particularly enjoyed the "travel show" An Idiot Abroad with Karl Pilkington. Fans like me will no doubt also enjoy The Moaning of Life, a similar series that will start this October.

NAKUNA HARACHAN
I watched several Japanese dramas in the past. Most featuring Nagase Tomoya, such as My Boss, My Hero, Karei Naru Spy and Unobore Deka. This year not a lot of new shows picked my attention but I'll be at least trying to keep up with Nakuna, Hara-chan. (it already aired but I' still waiting for some subtitles...)

BIBLIA
Similarly, this drama Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou featuring AKIRA (the recent live-action GTO) looks pretty promising.

~

And that's about it.

And what about you guys 'n' gals? Any new/good shows in sight? Or will you be rewatching some older stuff like I often end up doing once cancellations start kicking?
