Atari will be resurrecting some of the ol' franchises they obtained over the years.
First of all, one of my childhood favorites is making a comeback! Early next year exclusively on PC there's gonna be a "RollerCoaster Tycoon: World"!
I miss this series. I kinda only played THOUSANDS of hours of the first one and its original expansion (as well as a little of the second one). Glad to see it still exists.
Hopefully they'll avoid silly DLCs/micro-transaction traps that the last Sim City proved to be a bad idea.
Finally, there's some news regarding the new Alone in the Dark!
It's called a Alone in the Dark: Illumination, its PC exclusive as well. And here's the teaser trailer:
Hopefully more will be revealed soon.
But from the looks of it, this might be played in First Person (that wasn't just for the trailer I guess)... Mmmh.. Not sure I like the sound of that.
At best it will be an innovative experience in the style of the Amnesia series. At worst, it's just a cheap cash in on the "Playable Trailer" of the upcoming Silent Hills game.
And finally, another old Infogrames IP they decided to resurect, here's the trailer for Haunted House: Cryptic Graves:
This one shows a lot more of the design, the environments and the atmosphere.
Haunted House will be an adventure/puzzle/mystery.
For those who don't know, Haunted House was an old classic Atari game, which partially went on inspiring survival horrors a decade later:
The game was remade in a cartoony semi-sequel for the Wii, later re-released on Xbox Live:
Not to be confused with the unrelated PS2/Gamecub/Xbox game developed by High Voltage Software:
From the looks of the appropriate scenery, it sounds like Haunted House turned into Alone in the Dark, and Alone in the Dark turned a Condemned-sort of horror FPS.
Wait and see~
