#RIP Satoru Iwata

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has passed away at 55.

The man was a legend. Only under his supervision and guidance did someone like Miyamoto get to develop all these countless original creation.

I kinda fear for Nintendo's future now, depending who they put in charge next. (Sorry, I'm just seeing a pattern repeat here, the same way Sega went when they lost their own Japanese CEO back around the Dreamcast days).

Here's the official statement:
Nintendo Co., Ltd. deeply regrets to announce that President Satoru Iwata passed away on July 11, 2015 due to a bile duct growth.
The man will be missed : (

  1. It was very sudden to hear last night when the news first broke. Was very crazy to realise that this guy you saw some time ago (and were talking about) was suddenly gone just like that. Everybody was effected, which I think is mostly due to how approachable he was to fans with stuff like Iwata Asks and the Nintendo Direct. He was a cool guy and we shall miss him dearly.
