Remember back when trailers didn't show the entire plot of the films? The latest Terminator film is doing Genisys' problems all over again. The film looked much of the same anyways, despite Cameron behind the production and promoting it.
Here's some fun vintage classic movie trailers I dig.
Die Hard 2 had a fun story behind it actually. They hadn't began shooting anything really, and the script was going through some edits. So really this first teaser trailer was made with the only raw footage they had done at that point:
But it actually works great to tell us the tone and tease Die Hard 2 here.
Similarly the original Terminator 2: Judgment Day got such a great fun and iconic trailer. All original footage. Such an atmosphere established in a single minute:
Sam Raimi's Spider-Man got a fantastic Twin Tower teaser, which then was cut from the film and censored due to the events at the time. And it only now resurfaced, remastered for higher-def:
One last! And despite personally not really liking the film, I always loved the first teaser trailer to Ang Lee's Hulk (2003):
