Here's moaar news for today!
Someday, somehow, this will be back... darker and grittier (and probably less gory)
First of all, you may have heard about that Mortal Kombat trailer floating around the web.
I like Mortal Kombat games! They're truly under appreciated nowadays and criticized, while in fact they're pretty fun and entertaining to play.
Anyway, since Midway (MK developer) went bankrupt and Warner Bros bought the studio and the MK franchise...there's been talks about a final/last MK game (to test it's viability) which would be some kinda reboot/retelling.
I would love to see a new motion captured game using HD modern MK sprites (real people "digitalised")... but somehow I doubt that would happen...
Anyway that "MK trailer floating around"? Actress Jeri Ryan told the news it was made to motivate and show the producers how capable the crew was.
It was only a "short film" to promote a new movie.
Mortal Kombat: Rebirth was the name.
Less cheesier but a bit over the top and darker. It's a rebooted MK universe, more realistic and brutal. Watch it here if you haven't:
+1 new poster!
Predators now!
I'm still highly expecting this new Predator sequel, with practical effects, epic story, great action and produced by Robert Rodriguez.
For once, we have a different kind of preview. Instead of having a ton of teasers and trailers, we had so far some interesting behind the scenes talks with cast & crew.
This time it's a recording session look at the Predators score!
Fantastic idea! Very interesting^^
John Debney music sounds so far pretty close to Alan Silvestri music in both originals Predator movies.
I'm loving it! Can't wait for this movie!
Moar gaming now:
LucasArts showed us what kind of collector edition to expect for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II.
I actually liked the original game. The plot was nice and original, the gameplay fun (a level based hack&slah/beat'em all game in our today rpg/fps/open world sand box's world? sign me in!)
From the listing, it seems we'll have plenty stuff to look forward to:
- Premium Collectible Steelbook
- Exclusive In-Game Content
- Three exclusive challenge mode levels
- Exclusive character skins
- Exclusive Lightsaber crystal
- Exclusive Mimobot USB Designer Drive Preloaded with Bonus Content
- Starkiller 2GB Flash Drive designed by Mimobot
- Digital art book, featuring insights into the art of The Force Unleashed II
If this one won't be too expensive, I may be interested in buying it :P
But I would have prefered a USB drive like those already released ones:
Couldn't they just have included this Darth Vader in the collector edition?
From what gameinformer said recently Telltale studio new adventure game will be...wait for it...a point and click 3D adventure based on Jurassic Park!
Despite what some gaming website may say nowadays, there's been some handful pretty good Jurassic Park games in the past. Then, on the later more current era systems, worse games...
I'm still pretty surprised by this annoucement. Fresh from their latest Monkey Island and Sam&Max success, will telltale be able to create some very original JP gaming experience?
A JP Adventure sounds good... but... Will it be based on the novels? The movies? Something original?
So many questions...
Finally, on Spider-Man's side, the 3rd universe was revealed in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimension.
Like we already knew it will be based on Spider-Man/Marvel 2099 universe:
Now the real question is, what will the last universe be based on?
Something original? Marvel 1602? Marvel Zombies?
Like I tried to identify in the last news post, will it be original? It cannot be Spider-Ham/Spider-Ape/Zombie Spider-man from what the pre-order costume looks like...
The last screen in this trailer seems to indicate a symbiote-related universe (not again! no more symbiotes please!!)
Spider-carnage?
Now that I think about it, I would have loved Spider-girl instead.
She is currently appearing in the only last good Spider-man comics afterall (true!).
She could have been a fun character, story-wise. (imagine here trying not to tell Peter Parker she is the daughter he never had from a parallel universe...)
Aynway, that's all for now~
*Trying to not be lazy and finishing my SF2 review soon!!*
Holy hell seems like WB wanted to do a good job with revamping the Mortal Kombat series, about time Baraka got a big tole, though Reptile's make over made me emo : ( he was my fave. But still I'd see that movie : D so long as they keep the kick ass theme : B
ReplyDeleteZoDy> Seems more like a good cast&crew wanted to make a neat revamp of the MK series. They're still waiting for WB approval :P
