I was listening to Disney's Hercules soundtrack, and gosh, I love it! :D
It was such a ingenious idea to combine gospel with Greek mythology!
The Zero To Hero sequence is a great representation of its soundtrack as a whole and combine such beautiful visuals, amazing animation with this perfect tune:
No wonder they took this catchy musical number and used it as opening theme for the Hercules cartoon series that followed the movie:
"even if it did take everything from Greek Mythology and change it completely"

two) because other movies (and specifically Disneys) do respect their own mythos? Like Pinnochio or Peter Pan are faithful adaptations, right? :P

Hercules' EPIC! In every and all aspects!
The adaptations in the plot are there because, well, it is an adaptation, period! ;)
But that's what all (Disney or not) movie usually do with their own mythos :P
ReplyDelete(seriously go back to Snow White, going through Aladdin, Peter Pan & co!) The only difference is that people tend to have better knowledge of greek mythology more so than knowing perfectly their litterateur.
