E3 NEWS! lots MOAR trailers PartV

(...)
So, lotsa things happened since I last blogged about the Expo on this blog.

A new Nintendo System, the Wii U, which will be a much more powerful HD Wii in a way. With big mainstream "adult" titles such as Alien Colonial Marines, Metro Last Light, Ninja Gaiden 3 and even some mysterious titles such as Assassin's Creed (is it an exclusive one? the original/a remake Assassins' Creed 1? Assassin's Creed Revelation only they forgot to put in the rest of the title?) and Tekken (Tekken Tag 2? A new one? A remake of the original classic?).
This new system has a very special type of controller, more like a tablet than an actual controller, with buttons + sticks. Featuring a screen which kinda makes this controller a sort of handheld system, only 1 player will be able to use it on a Wii U, the others will have to use "classic" Wiimotes.

Meanwhile Sony showcased their new PSP2, sorry, the VITA. Or PSVita, or PSV..anyways I'm just glad they didn't keep their previous temporary acronym NGP ("Next Gen Portable") which will always stand for me for Neo Geo Pocket :P
Me and tons of retro gamers around the world.

What d'you guys think?
Well, I for one am not really a fan of accessories or systems. It's the games that count. (same goes with movies and 3D, home released and Blurays or DVDs.. the content is always more important than the container)
They'll all have to offer more than 5-10 good titles to interest me :P

First let's start quickly with a Wii U (how do you say that? Way-you? Wee-eww?) reveal trailer:

It's backward compatible with all existing Wii games, and apparently supports existing Wii hardware too.
I'm guessing (and hoping) the same goes with Gamecube stuff. (or I'll have to replug the GC!) And hopefully we'll be able to transfer our game saves/profiles/etc in some way...
It's pretty gimmicky, but I guess that's the way technology is evolving into.
The controller doesn't surprise nor impress me much.. I guess that was bound to happen. *reads/watches too much scifi stuff*

Enough!

On to the games now!

Nintendo had lots of trailers/announcement regarding its other new system, the 3DS.
Including a Metal Gear Solid, a Starfox and a Mario Kart 3DS.
Let's check out the others not as much people will look into:

Kid Icarus: Uprising, looking nice, if a bit pixelated.
(but I guess that goes with most 3DS titles... to force people to use the 3D to smooth things out)

Here's now Super Mario. Simply Super Mario.
From the same team that made Galaxy.

Woah!
Not much a fan of Mario usually (and I don't get "blinded" by Mario's legacy, nostalgia and fanboysm when judging one) but this looks great!
Why couldn't they make one like this on the Wii directly?
Everything I always wanted Mario 64 to be!!
(yeah, I admit it, I never liked it much...too much uncontrollable for my tastes and serious lack of sidescrollin' around..)
And here's another Mario:

Yeah, I said I wasn't gonna post those big name games...but I guess I lied :P
At least this one's Paper Mario 3DS!
Looks nice.
I doubt I'll get it (at least at full price!)
But nice.

Meanwhile on Capcom's side:

It's Resident Evil: Revelations!
For the 3DS also.
(all the good games are coming up there?)

Unlike Mercenaries, which is all about shooting action, Revelations is all about survival horror, the very genre Resident Evil established. We actually think of Revelations as a direct sequel to Resident Evil 5 and it will be full of new, innovative ideas and characters
Capcom sees this one as the true actual new RE game. Or at least, that's how they're trying to sell us this one.
And if you're not convinced, here's another title:

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Much like Resident Evil: Mercenaries on the 3DS, it's a multiplayer spinoff title. This one is based around the events of the classic RE in Raccoon City.
Like a sort of Left4Dead take on the series.

Back to Big N.

Link is back in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
Looking lovely, sharp, bright, colorful.
Love the feel, the graphics...
I'm expecting a Wii and Wii U releases. Like Twilight Princess.
The question now is, which system was it developed for, and where is it being ported to in a rush.
Mario, Sonic & co are brought back together one more time, in...

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games!
Another one, right!
....And one more time it's gonna sell a million copies.
And here's another sequel, this one to a much more loved "Mario" game:

That's right!
Next Level Games is developing a Luigi’s Mansion 2.
Worry not, Shigeru Miyamoto is even on board!

It looks like more of the same, only this time on the 3DS.
Is it only me, or shouldn't most games of today's post be on the actual Wii rather than the 3DS? (is Nintendo already moving into the Wii U?)
Here's a new Capcom title, which I'd like to call "Buddhist God of War"

Asura’s Wrath.
It seems to be an over-the-top beat'em all.

Looking much better than I thought original back in 2010.

Remember the announcement of Puzzle Agent 2 by Telltale Games?
Here's the debut trailer!

Looking great, amazing and fun!

And finally, a new Kirby game that Nintendo seems to have been pretty quiet about.
A return to a more traditional Kirby after last year's stylized entry.
