Big Hero 6 was originally a Marvel comic, part of all those manga-inspired (fusion-style?) comics Marvel tried to launch in the early 2000s. Big Hero 6 wasn't actually the success you'd think it was. I'm sure more people read the excellent short-lived Mangaverse instead. And of all those original creations, the most successful similar book was no doubt Brian K. Vaughan's Runaways, which ran for much longer, used a similar basis and art direction (slightly manga-ysh) and was actually part of the main Marvel Universe (616!).
Anyhow-
Instead of making a live action Big Hero 6 film part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Disney is making a CGi animated flick out of it. And way more Disney-ified, you wouldn't think this is a Marvel propriety at first!
