#Gaming NEWS! And the next 360/PS3 Assassin's Creed game is...

Assassin's Creed Comet!

This is actually a promotional pic for AC4's DLC, but read on and you'll understand...

From the looks of things, Assassin's Creed Comet will this time let you play as a Templar.

Unlike its "big brother", this Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 exclusive (won't that make most people grab this one on these consoles, but ditch the "next one" on PS4/Xbox One for the much cheaper PC/Steam release??) will keep the whole nautical theme from Black Flag.

It will apparently be set in 1758, this time along the Atlantic Ocean. Rumors say we might just see Haytham Kenway (Connor's father in AC3) and Adewale back (!!). Sounds great to me. Source.

Here are my estimated guesses, from the looks of what Ubisoft said so far, and the various hints I think I've found in various AC material (so take the following as you please):
- AC Unity, the PS4/Xbox One/PC title will follow the Assassin Order and the Templars finally uniting for a new (?) or bigger threat. In the comic book Assassin's Creed: Brahman, which followed an awesome Indian Assassin and was released along AC4, the mysterious "First People" took over an Assassin descendant in the climax of the series to announce to both Assassins and Templars present on the scene they should ally to be prepared for the incoming threat of Juno! Repeating the term Unity several times for about 2 pages! I just finished it the other day, and thought that might have been an hint on the part of Ubisoft. So I imagine this "Unity" will come from an alliance between both factions, possibly putting a term to this whole Assassins/Templars storyline, at least on the modern era of the franchise. Even though if that means an uneasy alliance. (that could be pretty interesting, story-wise)

- AC Comet, on the PS3/Xbox 360, might focuse back on the whole Desmond/End of the world scenario. And I know it was supposedly finished in AC3, but Black Flag gave us plenty hints that this epilogue might turn into a full-blown follow-up. And wouldn't it be appropriate to have the last PS3/360 Assassin's Creed game go back to that storyline AND resolve it for good? This one, I'm guessing here, might concern the end of the world not actually prevented in the previous episode. The comet might literally concern an incoming threat from space about to destroy the Earth (Final Fantasy 7, much?). I can imagine whatever solar flair/slash/end of the world scenario Desmond was supposed to stop at the end of AC3 wasn't properly stopped. HENCE why there were hints of Desmond through Black Flag (his... personal state aside), of his consciousness, impact on the AC universe and even his crew in Black Flag (Danny Wallace's character & co). ERGO why such a game would return to his ancestors/Haytham! Makes sense! Not necessary bringing his character back, but at least the plot points he touched upon.

This means with both these games, the AC series could move forward, ditch/resolve those storylines and shake the status quo in new direction, if they want to keep the franchise alive!

Anyways.. (what a long post!!), that's my 2-cent.

#Sega NEWS! Sonic Lost World - The Legend of Zelda Zone dlc

Did I forget to post this? As a long time Sonic fan, I think I should post it on the blog...

So Sonic Lost World finally got its second stage-DLC, another Nintendo tie-in! Which, as an old school gamer, feels kinda wrong...

...but it looks fun, colorful and great!

After th Yoshi Island Zone, here comes the Zelda Zone! Like the previous one it's another free downloadable content... so why complain?

To be honest, folks, I still haven't bought a Wii U.. so this is gonna wait a bit. I always need up to, like, 10 must have games on a new system before actually considering it. And I'm kinda late on several last gen games (and retro titles, but let's not get into that...). Of all new systems, home consoles and handhelds, the Wii U's been the only one to both catch my eye and my interest. But I'm still not entirely decided.. (also I like to give new systems a couple months to breath, just to be sure the tech/hardware won't be failing me...)

Anyways, long story short - this looks neat, like the rest of Sonic Lost World so far.

MR Dark City

In the end of the 1990s came a great neo-punk noir film about a man waking up to find reality is not what it appears to be. And accepting that while learning to use some special abilities to fight the ones who have been keeping people from finding the truth....

And I'm not talking about The Matrix...

#Movie NEWS! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles official trailer

Oh, my glob... It's even worse than I thought it would be...

... I'm zero motivated about this whole thing. I knew it wouldn't be that great... but come on, there's so many things bad with it. Even the few who are trying to call it good know in their heart in a couple years they'll either will have forgotten all about it or remember it as that awful TMNT film...

Let's get the good stuff away right out:
- Some throwaway references to the original comics/original movie/and 80s series (April a reporter, the metro reveal scene, etc.)
- It's a modern TMNT film (which for some youngster = good movie, because they can't accept older movies or something...)
- ... and that's it.

Now the REALLY BAD:
- I know from the start, after the casting PR, this was going to be bad... but Megan Fox in a movie? Usually never a good sign.
- Oroku Saki/Shredder is a white guy now. 'Nuff said!!!
- this feels and exactly looks like Bay!Formers. They didn't even need to properly get Michael Bay as director to make it bad... He probably not only acted as Executive Producer but probably was on the set and helped the production along.
- awful cheap CGi. While these generic 3D  graphics look perfectly "fine" and decent on robots, it just looks plain cheap on the Turtles. I mean even TMNT 3's cheap froggy suits looked better and more real than this crap!
- cheesy dialogues? check. cliché blockbuster trailer/action scenes? check.
- convulsed unnecessary reboot? double check!

I was all up for a new TMNT film! Even using CGi! And rebooting the franchise! I wasn't expecting much...

And all we got was this Bay!Formers-copy-paste job with a slight TMNT flavor to it...

I predict.. it will actually make quite a ton of cash. But quantity (of cash at the box office) doesn't mean quality. So this will be quickly ditched and forgotten, I imagine.

The generic art direction (what art direction?!?), the CGi, the casting (Plastic Bimbo-Fox and white-washed Shredder..)... argh.. this is so bad...

..on another hand, this will finally make TMNT3 good in retrospective. Kinda how the RoboCop reboot and The Legend of Chunli made RoboCop 3 and Van Damme's Street Fighter respetcively a ton better in comparison.

#Drawing - Trigon's Daughter!

I really wanted to draw something these days, but kept forgetting or putting it aside due to a) work b) being always tired/sleepy lately and c) lazyness.

So here's RAVEN from the New Teen Titans!

I tried to make up for it since that previous Raven pic I ended up rushing/hate now fav.me/d6ncrwv

#DeletedScenes - Dead Phoenix

Around 2005 Capcom made a deal with Nintendo. They were supposed to make 5 exclusive titles, throwbacks to the original 8-bit Capcom/Nintendo days.

Aimed specially at hardcore gamers, the idea was to develop several old school long & difficult arcade-style games for the Nintendo Gamecube.

Thus was born the Capcom 5 project.

Chief amongst those was Resident Evil 4, quickly followed by P.N.03, Killer7 and Viewtiful Joe

What about the 5th and final game?

Called Dead Phoenix, it was a rail shooter pretty similar to Sega's Panzer Dragoon series.

1PanelReview Johnny Mnemonic

No complications!

#Sketch - Arnold Schwarzenegger get to the Choppaaaa no Jimmy Fallon

Okay, now, this was hilarious...

#Random - USFIV's Decapre and alternate character choices...

Several people got annoyed by the Decapre Reveal Trailer, I know I found it kinda... underwhelming. They shouldn't have kept her for last, or at least not build the hype for such a reveal.

At the end of the day, no matter her unique-ysh gameplay or not, she still is simply "Cammy with a mask". Seriously. Fans of the PC version already added the entire Shadaloo Dolls to the game years ago, for free! Just google it!

The thing is it all comes to one thing.. Capcom didn't have the money for it. Or at least, didn't want to spend the money on this new update. But thing is... you have to spend money to make money! That's how it goes.

Well, the guys at outsidexbox came up with this much better list of choices for that last character we all awaited so many months for:

You know what...? Those are all perfectly valid and perfect suggestions. Much better than Decapre.

I think I would had other SF3, SFAlpha or SFEx characters like Karin, Sean or even Rival School/Darkstalkers before one of these "Dolls"... sigh... Why not even Stryder to tie in with the new game's release?! After all the Street Fighter series' been merging with other Capcom proprieties since SF Alpha already.

Damn.. if they could had any (or all???) of them in a future last update/DLC/SF5... if only, right...

And for those who'd want to address the whole Skullomania/Street Fighter EX issue... This whole "But Arika owns the copyrights to those characters"-thing. Despite whatever Ono said in the past, it was simply addressing not having any of the EX characters in the game at the time. I'm sure they would change stance if they ever got them back at some point. PR, you guys! Also - the whole "they developed the game, Capcom doesn't own the characters" is as silly as saying a studio/person owns characters from a copyrighted franchise they worked on once (*cough*Mighty The Armadillo*cough*). And last, if any of it was true, they could get those back as common courtesy/guests. Ever seen Link/Heihachi/Spawn in Soul Calibur? What about Freddy in Mortal Kombat? Heck, even Virtua Fighters in a Dead or Alive game - cross-fighting franchise and inter-company at once! They even added another VF to the last Ultimate DOA5 release!

All I want to say is... there's nothing preventing Capcom from adding SFEX characters back at some point. All it takes is some effort (cash? time?) in the actual update.

They could add all the Capcom characters from SFxTekken/Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 if they wanted, they already did so with most of the new additions! (Mike Haggar, where are yoooooou!?!)

1PanelReview Lords of the Deep

In 1989, 5 (no less!) horror films taking place underwater and seeing a crew face some supernatural danger while testing the strength of their teams were released simultaneously, one after the other.

These films were in theatrical release order: DeepStar Six, Leviathan, Lords of the Deep, The Evil Below and finally The Abyss.

This is one of them.

#Gaming NEWS! And the next Assassin's Creed game is...

... two Assassin's Creed games!

Really!

Ubisoft finally revealed the next games and confirmed some rumors.

Turns out there's going to be two new Assassin's Creed games! The next proper episode is scheduled for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC at the end of the year. It's titled Assassin's Creed Unity and will be set in the18th century. This time the focus will be the French Revolution, featuring the French Brotherhood of Assassins and the game will take us both around Paris and England.

Here some's pics:

The second game will be a sidegame, kind of similar to Liberation in relation to ACIII. Titled Assassin's Creed Comet (??), that one will be released on our good ol' regular Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Apparently, Ubisoft just officially ditched the Wii U. Neither game seem to be aimed for Nintendo's system.

No information yet, but some rumors say it might take place in Russia.... Which I would love!

Unity is looking pretty good and detailed so far. But that's expected from a series they have been refining yearly. I still love the series, but I kinda wish they could take an actual break from it, to go back to AC with fresh new ideas... (my wallet would also grandly appreciate it...)

And here's a teaser, showing some actual in-game footage:

#Design - Knight's Chase & Doom64 EX custom cover art

Please! Do not ask for these! This was a personal job, not outsourcing the work to other people. If you want me to work out something for you, I will do so for money only.

I decided to make some improvised custom coverart for my boxless CD of Knight's Chase. And a quickly made-on-the-spot logo to go along.

I love DOOM64. Here's a custom cover I made for the perfect PC port "Doom64 Ex", because I'm a materialist that way.
