Cartoon NEWS! DC animated stuff...

Hey! Let's post a new NEWS post for t'day!

So DC will be releasing DC Showcase Animated Original Shorts on DVD & Bluray on November 9, 2010.
I'm still not really sure I'll be interested in buyin' this one.
Sure, I love Captain Marvel and the rest of the Shazam characters but this still is a compilation of only 3 shorts + one exclusive other one.

The main feature will be this Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam short. A 22 minutes short, making it the longer DC Showcase yet.

Dan Jurgens interview about Booster, Gold and some other Skeets

I've been reading a very interesting interview of Dan Jurgens, creator of Booster Gold and long time Superman-author.

If you think it might interest you, head on boosterrific dot com.
It's always fun to have some hindsight on the motivations and inspirations behind writers/artists.
So, if it's about BOOSTER GOLD, how can't you check it out?! Like right now!

Gamin' NEWS! Metroid LIVE!

Well, not really live.
More like actors on CGi backdrop :P

Anyway, Nintendo revealed a cool "live" trailer for Metroid: Other M.
I've never really been into Metroid, my bro's more a fan of the series than me.
Though I do admire the concept and level design of the real past Metroid games. The sidescroller ones.
This new game from Team Ninja will be a big mix of 3D sidescrollin' action, FPS sequences and Ninja Gaiden-esque gameplay.
Good stuff!

Here's the live trailer:

A bit unusual for the big N.
Modern, gritty and Halo-ysh!

Hey!
This is probably the first trailer made for an alternate costume in a game. Ever.
Like, just ONE single costume!
So that makes it a selling point for the game, right?

Anyway, here's Scarlet Spider's Trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions!

Awesome!Awesome!Awesome!

Gamin' NEWS! Mass2PS3

So, Mass Effect 2's coming to the Playstation 3, heh? What a random surprise -__-
I guess it's good news for PS3 gamers. Though not playing part 1 and transferring it's data to part 2 before might be a bit strange...

I for one do not own a PS3, nor would plan on re-buying a game I already have...
But I hope for those new ME-players it will be a good port.
You may already know my stance on various console ports.
Like a little upgraded port or at least an equal port, thanks to the big delay. It better not be a cheap-ass port, a "downgrade", only producers will make profits that way over the enjoyment of the game for the players :/

It will be out in January 2011. I suppose preparing the way for a future multi-console Mass Effect 3 late-2011/earyl-2012?

-

Anyway, I'm gonna use this port to share out a little opinion.
Why do producers need to de-exclusivise games nowadays so much? Why the multiplatforming?
Well, for money of course, but why is money the only motivation/main aspect of games nowadays?
Gaming's become such a big market/important business now... remember when things were simpler and a bit less hollywood-ised?

Everything multi-console now, to expand the market you know...
I find that exclusive games leave a sort of impact, become bigger classics that way..
You have to own the system, it makes you part of "the club". And console fanboys suck it! They complain for lacking that title? Well buy that system! Or play it at a friend's place, you know, like real life friends right?
Or simply DON'T PLAY it! You aren't forced to play every single game ever made! It's not pokémons, don't try to catch 'em all!!

Aren't games like these above classics by being all-time exclusives, only available for their own systems?
- Chaotix and Tempo on the 32X, Psycho Fox on the Master System, Ducktales and Chip & Dales on the NES, Crash Bandicoot 1-2-3 on the PSX, Burning Rangers on the Saturn, Sonic Shuffle on the Dreamcast, PN03 on the Gamecube, etc..
It's like you need to be a lucky possessor of the system, one of the cool guys who own it, to have the chance to play those!

Well, that's what I wanted to say~

Star Wars NEWS! Clone Wars Season 3

So, you probably heard the news, Star Wars gonna get re-re-re-re-re-..(etc..)-released.
This time it will be on Bluray!
Haters will hate...
Fanboys will love...
I, myself, don't really have an opinion on this. It's kinda great, ton of other movies were also rereleased a lot anyway (look at the Superman movies, all the 3D movies, 30s movies, etc..), though Star Wars did mark people a lot more with the heavy edits.
It will have new scenes in all 6 episodes. That's not a surprise either, though I gotta admit Luke building is light sabre as the opening for Return of The Jedi is a nice addition. The original SW movies didn't have enough Jedi-esque sequence.

Anyway, I'm writing this news to talk about the very fun and entertaining Clone Wars CGi series, which complicated the expanded universe in a way, but also offered some original concepts. (such as more Separatists point of view, a more human look on the Clones, more mandalorians & Bounty Hunters and other neat stuff in non-Anakin centered episodes).

Watch it before insulting it! It's Eyz-approved!
