Warner just dropped a first proper trailer for the Todd Philips/Martin Scorsese/Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie... and.. huh... This is the result?
Looks like a weird expensive artsie film. And somehow it almost gave me the vibe it's also trying to be an origin story for the Heath Ledger’s Joker.... Specially how it's trying to be "grounded", dark and "realistic".
For a movie that had remained titled “the untitled Deadpool sequel” I
was kind of expecting to see the final product simply called “Cable
& Deadpool” as a reference to the long-running comic series.
But I suppose Deadpool 2 works too.
Yesterday evening I went for a late night screening of Deadpool 2 over here. And to make things short, simply put, I loved it!
Let's enjoy the last batch of 20th Century Fox films this year, while Disney goes through the buyout and Fox releases their last current ongoing productions before getting absorbed.
One thing they got right last time and which I hope will be equally awesome is the upcoming Deadpool 2. Despite Fox's "lackluster" trackrecord (just check any of the AVP films, recent Die Hards, or heck, it's a tradition, look back at the great but cheap Planet of the Apes films way back when), it did work out ok for Deadpool to be made cheaper and completely in the hands of their creator (and life action-Deadpool Ryan Reynolds). Deadpool 2 looks like more of the same so far. I kinda wish it was called Cable & Deadpool though.

I warmed up to this version of Domino and Cable's casting. Marvel can bring over the whole trio to the MCU!! And the official youtube description was equally hilarious:

Ryan Reynolds just revealed on his twitter how Domino will look in the upcoming film Deadpol 2/Deadpool & Cable (?).
Domino's gonna be played by the lovely Zazie Beetz. While it's easy to imagine how Josh Brolin will look like as Cable, here's the first proper look at Domino:
Ok. I got mixed feelings here. Obviously, she doesn't exactly look like her comic book counterpart. Which was expected from 20th Century Fox (see Apocalypses, Negasonic, etc.). Which is a shame next up to the amazing Deadpool costume or Colossus. On the other hand I still think this is a perfect casting choice with this gorgeous hilarious actress.
I kinda wish they had done the hairdo.. or at the very least given her a black spot instead of that white spot..
