#MonsterMovie NEWS! First trailers for Victor Frankenstein!

Did you know/remember there's a new Frankenstein movie coming up?

The film is called Victor Frankenstein and it will feature James MacAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe who appear to have great chemistry together.

This version of the film will feature a much younger Dr. Frankenstein (James McAvoy) and give more emphasis on this different take on Igor (Daniel Radcliffe) as both main characters. It was actually written by Max Landis and it's directed by Paul McGuigan.

The film will apparently go for a mix of horror, "horror comedy" and humor. (And no, the horror comedy genre is quite different from simply horror and comedy mashed together.)

Here's two completely different trailers for the film, giving a radically different vibe and tone for the film, one for the US and another one for the UK:

The film looks pretty fun if you ask me, much better than how the recent Dracula looked like if you ask me.

Victor Frankenstein is expected to be released this November 25.

MR:Quickies Universal Monsters films

Time to go back to the classics!

Let's dig into not one but six all-time classic Universal Monsters films! Those are not the only "Universal Monsters" out there, and I'm only having a look at one of the beloved sequels.

To be precise, this is a look into a "Complete Collection" that was released a few years back, which was based on the old VHS release and is also sort of similar to the recent Bluray Collection.

#Blog - FRANKENSTEIN in Plainpalais

Yesterday I finally took some time to check out the recent Frankenstein statue they put in Plainpalais, Geneva (,Switzerland).

Detroit has RoboCop, Geneva has good ol' Frankie (Michael/Samuel/"The Monster"). The decision had been voted by local citizens (such as myself). As a tribute to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (the story taking place nearby, while the monster actually ran off to what once was here before a forest).

It looks great.

Glad they went a bit "freestyle" with it, trying to match the description in the book, rather than Universal Monsters' Frankenstein look (which I'm sure they would have to pay for to use the likeness anyhow!).
