#Blog Mega Man Wily War SE

I finally received the re-release of Mega Man: Wily War. One of the rarest and most expensive Pal/Jap Mega Drive releases, which finally received a new print of cartridges last year by Retro Bit (and other limited physical releases companies).

I actually had a custom repro made a few years ago, but it feels good to have this "Special Edition", filled with bonus content. Check it out!

#GamingNEWS Mega Man 11 - Announcement Trailer

And out of the blue, Capcom just randomly announced the return of Mega Man!

With a brand new sidescroller episode, Mega Man 11. But also hope that the Legends 3D series might also have a comeback down the line.

But there's a little twist. This time instead of recyclcing the retro 8-bit style graphics like Mega Man 9 and 10, it's gonna be a modern 3D game on a 2D plane. Pretty close to what a lot of fans wished to get from Mighty No.9...

This return is expected for 2018 on the PS4, PC, Xbox and Switch. Here's the announcement trailer:

It does look pretty good!! Sign me up!

And alongside this return of Mega Man, they also confirmed the long-rumored Mega Man X collection. I hope they don't break it down into two separate collections this time..

Is it true... Is Mega Man finally back...?

(Now someone knock some sense into Konami as well and get me the Silent Hill franchise back!!)

#blog - Remember #mightyno9 ?

So today I received a strange box in the mail.
I didn't remember having incoming orders right now..?
What’s this huge cardboard and this small box doing in there?
To the trash with you piece of garbage.
What’s this..?
“Having trouble installing MN9....”?
As in... Mighty No9????

Holy moley...
... It is! It is my physical copy of Mighty no 9!! I actually forgot I upgraded my tier for the physical copy! Specially since I’ve been playing it thanks to the steam release I got from the same tier.
They sure did take their sweet time, didn’t they? Add that to the collective internet outrage for this game.
Me personally? I’m fine with the game as it is. It’s not great, but I don’t find it that bad.
Specially with me winning one of their many contests and featuring one of my robot designs in the game! (totally not objective because of that)
I finally received the first thing I ever kickstarted on kickstarter! I know.. we all know. It was a bumpy ride...
But wait... what was that cardboard piece again?

It contains something inside..?
The NES-styled box and the manual!! What the... couldn’t they better indicate it!! I truly almost threw that out!!!
And I can put the manual in there! Because I wasn’t a weaboo and I chose the US/EUR-styled NES box to go along my actual NES games!
My only complaint is that it’s a real NES box. Meaning it has actual NES size and I can’t put the DVD-style PC case in there, collector edition-style.
And here’s the NES cardboard box, official kickstarter physical release and my own fanmade custom box I made once I got the steam key (as per usual):
Which one do you prefer?
With that many physical copies of Mighty no 9 in my library.. it’s like I’m a huge Mighty no 9 fanboy... Goddammit!!!
At least I can use the NES-styled box to store my boxless Mega Man 3 copy.

#DeletedScenes Maverick Hunter: The Mega Man X FPS

While Capcom pretty much ignores the Mega Man/Rockman license these days - even more so since Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune's departure - the series has been known to evolve and shake things up from time to time to stay relevant over the years/decades. Heck, personally I prefer the classic series, but the 16-bit Mega Man X series and the early 3D titles Mega Man Legends have even much more fans than the originals!

But did you know Capcom almost made a Mega Man "Act Zero"? Like, attempt to reimaging the blue bomber in a much darker grittier more-adult setting?? Crazy, right?!

#MarvelNEWS Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Teaser

Alright, it's official! The long-rumored Marvel vs. Capcom 4 - actually randomly titled Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite - is gonna be a reality!

If rumors are to be believed, this game will apparently put less focus on the X-Men and Fantastic Four characters (thanks, Fox-embargo!). Which is sad since all these fighting games started with my much beloved X-Men fighting games... No Cyclops nor Wolverine? Let's wait and see. Here's the cinematic teaser-trailer:

Captain Marvel looks badass!

The game is expected for PS4, Xbox One and Steam next year, in 2017.

#GamingNEWS Mighty No. 9 Trailer: Masterclass

Finally! This is finally coming out!

Keiji Inafune, you sure took your sweet time with this one, seems you guys weren't entirely able to work this first Kickstarter experience. Nevertheless, I can't wait!

#Gaming NEWS! Keiji Inafune and Comcept launch another kickstarter

Scrap that. They're actually launching two more kickstarters for yet another project/whole franchise.

With Mighty No. 9 coming shortly the next months, it's time to look at new projects. Inafune & co finally revealed Red Ash. A sort of spiritual successor to Mega Man Legends/Rockman Dash.

And just to go even further, it will actually be linked to Mighty No. 9, that's right the main character here will be a distant relative to No. 9's Beck. So, basically, Mighty No. 9 Legends, I suppose?

Here's the kickstarter for the game:

That's right, you read that right. There also will be a Red Ash anime as well!

I'm not sure what's going on with the characters here, but I prefer the designs from the game above. Here's the second Kickstater for the anime:

Actually people will be financing only a small part of the game - a prequel episode, and the first few minutes of the anime.

I dunno... As much as I love Keiji Inafune and Comcept, it feels like they're stretching way to thin with all these on-going projects. And let's not forget Inafune's upcoming Xbox One robots game ReCore.

Kickstarter for the game.

Kickstarter for the anime.

#Gaming NEWS! Keiji Inafune and Comcept about to announce another Mega Man spiritual sequel?

Keiji Inafune just teased the announcement of a new project for the LA Anime Expo this weekend:

Like Mighty No. 9, this games appears to be a not exactly-Mega Man-like game fans might need to keep an eye on. Hey, if Capcom's not giving us any new "Rockman" game any time soon, let the original creator have fun with his original concepts! Oh! I just got the name of the studio - Comcept!

Anyways, if Mighty No. 9 was a more traditional old school Mega Man/Mega Man X sidescroller, this new game seems to hint at something closer to Mega Man Legends. Why? Because there's a lot of hints towards giving us the new Mega Man Legends Capcom canceled several times.

The word "legend" pops up a lot in this video. The original Mega Man Legends was called Rockman Dash in Japan (and that's your "Red Ash" connection).

Wait and see~

#Gaming NEWS! Mighty No 9's BECK invites himself in a 2D sidescroller

Mighty Gunvolt is a "run & gun" Mega Man-style 8-bit sidescroller. You know, an indie retro game. Developed by Inti Creates. It seems they originally wanted to make a "Mega Man Zero" thing, but weren't able to get the rights to Mega Man, because Capcom just hates Mega Man these days...

Anyhow, the game's still coming out even without the rights to Mega Man, they just slightly tweaked it.

You can also get it for free if you already have their previous title Azure Striker Gunvolt. And even get Striker's main character, Gunvolt. And since they couldn't get Mega Man, they went for the next best thing... that is, getting Beck from Keiji Inafune (Mega Man's creator)'s Mighty No 9!!

How's that looking up for you, Capcom?

Ha! I just love the fact Beck's sprite is basically just Mega Man! Hahaha!

#Cartoon NEWS! Mighty Number 9 cartoon! Whaaaaat???

While I'm still waiting for my copy of Mighty No. 9 - like all of us - Comcept just announced there will be an animated series as well!

And Mega Man creatore Keiji Inafune announced another second crowdfunding campaign to add many more extra features to the game not previously announced for Mighty No. 9! Woah! Is it only me or are they getting kind of crazy with this whole game project!?

I mea I've been supporting it and on board since day 1 - he's Mega Man's creator after all! But before announcing a cartoon series can't we just see how well the game will fare first? See if it even warrants such?

Anyways,

Here's the teaser trailer for the cartoon which was already confirmed to be about 21 episodes long of ~20 minutes:

Oh, and it's CGi and all the more "Mega Man"-ysh presented like this..

#Gaming NEWS! Mighty No. 9

Here's another Kickstarter project worth checking out!

Capcom doesn't really seem to care about Mega Man these days.

So why don't you go over Kickstarter and check this project out?

The series creator Keiji Inafune is making a new game! An 8/16-bit style run & shoot that might as well be the one and only proper followup to the Mega Man series, Mighty No. 9!

Well, the same guy uploaded various new ones more recently, including Earthdound, Starfox and Double Dragon!

Design - Megaman X3 cartmodd custom cover art

This one was for a Megadrive cartmodd of this pirate Honk Kong-only released port of Mega Man X3.

How's the game? Well, pretty bad actually.
Ugly graphics, awful music that will make both Megadrive and Snes fans cry in agony...
Anyways, it was fun and collector enough to add to the collections :P

Please! Do not ask for these! This was a personal job, not outsourcing the work to other people. If you want me to work out something for you, I will do so for money only~
