This is the worst cashin in the world of cash-in sequels and ip mining from Hollywood. In fact it sounds like a parody they would have make. Not sure I like any of this....
...but I'll admit the joke at the end with the family members-paintings is the closest they were to the tone of the original films.
They honestly made a family film in the style of John Hughes and Chris Columbus classics... not a sequel.. not a famous IP.. (Well, they kinda cheated around this by USING the famous NES 8-bit classic system..)
And it even looks... good? What is this sorcery??
They're making a modern day classic Christmas family film? Check it out!
It's like the Stranger Things formula.. done right. It actually feels more 80s authentic.
"Man.. I'd love to see a new Bruce Campbell film. Or even just a fun random new B-movie horror comedy.. And also, I wonder what has Michael Jai White been up to lately?..."
Looks like somebody made the perfect tailor-made movie just for me!
Here's the official synopsis:
On Thanksgiving night, a group of disgruntled toy store employees begrudgingly arrive for work to open the store at midnight for the busiest shopping day of the year. Meanwhile, an alien parasite crashes to Earth in a meteor. This group of misfits led by store manager Jonathan (Bruce Campbell) and longtime employee Ken (Devon Sawa) soon find them themselves battling against hordes of holiday shoppers who have been turned into monstrous creatures hellbent on a murderous rampage on Black Friday.
Sounds fun!
I see what they did with the logo, there!
Black Friday will be in theaters November 19th and on Demand November 23rd!
You know who's back? The boys are back!! You know that's right!
Psych 2: Lassie Comes Home stars James Roday, Dulé Hill, Timothy Omundson, Maggie Lawson, Kirsten Nelson and Corbin Bernsen. The film arrives on Peacock July 15.
One of my recent favorite creator owned-comic series is getting the live action series treatment? And they even cast the awesome Alan Tudyk in the lead role? Sign me in!
Check out this first promo for Syfy's take on Resident Alien!
Based on the Dark Horse Comics series, this comes out this summer.
There's been several animated Scooby-Doo feature films over the decades. There's even been various live action Scooby-Doo films, theatrical or not. But this is the first CGi 3D animated Scooby-Doo theatrical film!
And it actually... looks great! (Except Freddy.. such a downgrade from Mystery Inc., sigh..)
It's directed by Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone (the minds behind the excellent The Looney Tunes Show). The only thing I don't like is the change of voice actors, only Frank Welker returns as Scooby-Doo. The wouldn't dare replace him. But it's weird to finally replace the excellent Matthew Lillard who's been playing Shaggy nowadays since he first portrayed him in the first live action films. The rest is mostly comprised of actors and comedians, names such as Will Forte, Tracy Morgan, Ken Jeong, Mark Wahlberg, etc.
Loving the Blue Falcon in there, I wasn't expecting some crossovers!!
I like checking zombie movies from all over the world. No matter what country, what language, what culture, seeing a different take from another perspective of such an easy concept is always a fun treat.
Here's Yummy:
A Belgian horror-comedy. Zombies running amok in a plastic surgery ward, sounds Yummy!
Remember ZOMBIELAND? Well, these new trailers are certainly trying to remind us the sequel's finally coming.
This new Red Band trailer is better than the first one. But I dunno... I'm not sold on the sequel so far, it feels like it's trying to much to be as fun as the original, and too much self-awareness/"wink wink" at the camera, I feel:
