Here's a random bizarre Groundhog Day-sequel in the form of a Super Bowl Jeep commercial from 2020. Bizarre because it goes completely against the ending and the moral of the actual film.
Anyways, here goes nothing: Bill Murray and a groundhog going in shenanigans in a jeep:
When since I'm in a Mike Myers trip right now, we might as well look back at his 2021 Wayne's World Superbowl commercial and his recent 2022 Austin Powers one, it's the closest we'll get to actual sequels. But, hey, if Bill & Ted can have a 3rd film... who knows.. right?
Now that the Sonic Movie is finally get good press and a warm-welcome from the fans, it seems like Sony and Paramount decided to go all-in on the Sonic Movie hype-campaign.
Check out this... weird ad. Featuring real life champions hyping the fast blue hedgehog:
Here's a first glimpse at the upcoming MCU-canon Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki! And.... color me intrigued! The WandaVision seems pretty much inspired by the awesome recent run of Vision. I'm here for Captain Falcon. And Loki.. well, we just get a glimpse at him but that should be enough to hype fans. I hope we get to finally see Balder the Brave on his show.
I guess this year's best Super Bowl commercial goes to Walmart! And My favorite part's honestly the little Bill & Ted 3 nod. (Are we going to see young Bill & Ted with their current selves in the new film???)
...also does this count as the first and only Star Wars X Star Trek crossover??
First up, here's something pretty good. This lil' tease for the upcoming Twilight Zone reboot coming from Jordan Peele did a great job "interrupting" the superbowl:
You got my attention now, Mr. Peele. Also is that a tease of the updated new theme song?
Speaking of, here's a fantastic new look at Jordan Peele's upcoming creepy new film, US!
Weirdly this new trailer got a more Get Out vibe in my eyes, like it's happening in the same "world"-ysh.. See what I mean? In a way it makes me think of a new Channel Zero miniseries..
Toy Story 4 got a nice new preview showing how impressive and realistic the toys now look.
And finally let's close things up with this incredible new look at Avengers: Endgame!
The hype is real! So we know this will get time travel-ysh at some point, but I'm also loving the post-apocalyptic/Leftovers vibe from the post Infinity War world... Wait and see!
And while nobody expected it, J.J.Abrams and his Bad Robot production just randomly released the next third Cloverfield movie on Netflix!!!
What!?!?!
The film had been teased for a while, not to such an extend as the past two films. But they still stealthy launched the "augmented reality game" on social media and whatnot. I've only seen a couple videos on it on youtube.
And then a Superbowl teaser announced its released right away on Netflix the next day - today.
What!!!!
So we now know the long-awaited Paramount scifi film God Particle about people trapped in space during an alien invasion ended up now called The Cloverfield Paradox!
Major Hollywood studios are pretty hesitant to put smaller budget flicks on the big screen, nowadays. Specialyl in the middle of all these big loud superhero popcorn flicks. And since Paramount and Netflx worked out such a great similar deal with the Natalie Portman scifi film Annihilation recently, they decided to do the same. This is a $40 million-budget "little scifi film". And from the looks of it they already made it immetiatley profitable since they randomly unveiled it on Netflix earlier!!
Word of mouth works great with these mysterybox-type Abrams films.
Actually, I can't wait to check this out, personally.
But enough talk, here's the trailer for now:
This one was directed by Julius Onah. And it stars the always great Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Bruhl, Gugu Mbatha Raw, Chris O’Dowd, Ziyi Zhang and David Oyelowo.
It's funny to thing 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE was announced 2 months before its release date.
THE CLOVERFIELD PARADOX was revealed just 4 hours before its release.
Since they already said CLOVERFIELD 4 has finishing its production, we might expect an even stealthier and faster release for it??
I can't wait to see people dissect this film apart. What if the biggest twist and mystery box was that these films have all been in the Lost universe and part of the Dharma conspiracy??
The next Star Wars is randomly suddenly upon us - the film is only THREE MONTHS!! Buckle up, kiddos!
And while we haven't seen much from the film during its stealth rough production - aside from a cast pic with the original directors Lord & Miller and some Ron Howard reshoots social media snapshots - Disney finally unveils the film now that a full month has passed since The Last Jedi to showcase a short teaser at the Super Bowl, followed by a proper first
look at Solo: A Star Wars Story:
I'm not sure I'm feeling our new young Han Solo himself just yet - Alden Ehrenreich.
But I gotta say Ron Howard's patchwork of a film is looking pretty decent so far. Can't wait to see more Donald Glover. An Ocean's Eleven-style heist movie set in the Star Wars universe sounds fun. No force. No grand galactic schemes.
It's a bit weird finding the Millenium Falcon looking more Prequel-era than OT. But I guess that's expected when two men live long enough alone together, for way too long...
The film itself will be released on May 25, instead of December like past DisneyStar Wars films.
It's time for yet another Mission: Impossible film! How many films is that? I lost count at MI3...
Paramount debuted a trailer at this year's Super Bowl.Aside from the usual Tom Cruise-ness, you will encounter Henry Cavill and his mustache in this trailer below:
There's also a new Super Bowl trailer out for the upcoming Ghost in the Shell adaptation. And it looks friggin' fun and stylish:
Really great vibe from this one, more so than the Blade Runner sequel. And I like how Matrix-ysh it looks since the original anime was one of the inspirations behind that trilogy.
You know what? This looks incredibly faithful, I mean shot for shot recreated. I'm actually highly anticipated for this one.
With the Super Bowl also came a brand new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 extended trailer!
Warning! There's more spoilers this time to the dynamic between the new characters...
I'm seeing some direct bits from Dan Abnett's original run in the comics! Nice!
This LOOKS and SOUNDS really fun and promising! I'm all in for more Guardians of the Galaxy and James Gunn's brand of fun! I love the addition of Nebula in the team, as well as the little bits we can see of Mantis. Can we add Cosmos and Bug now? That's all I'm asking!!!
Here's a new Super Bowl trailer for the upcoming R-Rated Logan! Get Hyped!
The film opens March 3, and I cannot wait.. but on another hand I kinda fear it will end up like the past two Wolverine films (excellent first act, everything falls to pieces at the climax)... wait and see...
For a lot of people, the Superbowl means sports. For me and a ton of others around the world it simply means a lot of great ads and exclusive movie trailers.
So sit down, don't bother getting there and enjoy the videos with youtube (and my blog!).
