The trailer for Venom 3 is here! And it looks as dumb as we all expected.
Did you know Sony will have 3 Spider-man-related films up this year? We got Madam Web, we're getting Venom and then Kraven at the end of the year. While Marvel Films had been trying to slow down their release so the audience doesn't get overwhelmed by all the superhero movies. Meanwhile Sony's doing completely the opposite to destroy the brand, I guess...

We're getting deeper into the uneccessary Sony side-Marvel-verse based on spinoff Spider-Man characters, boiiiis!!
We now have a whole darn MADAME WEB spinoff film! I guess this will take the crown off Morbius/Kraven, heh?
Eerrrr... I never liked Madame Web has an ongoing thread in 80s Spider-Man comics nor the 90s cartoon... and now she got a whole ass film to herself? Just give us one Spider-Man Vs. Venom film, come on Sony! You know that will make this whole aggreement with Marvel/Disney worthwile!
It's KRAVEN time! Or KRAVEN THE HUNTER were the friends we made along the way. Or..
The more time passes, the more those early leaks are starting to get confirmed.
Here's the brand new trailer for SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, which I just discovered this morning before going to work...
It looks... weird.. chaotic... crossover-y... like an underwhelming comic book event/take on Into the Spider-Verse.. I'm both hyped and tired by looking at it all. I dig the returning villains, but less so the crossover-plot. I like the culmination of the Sinister Six, but not these past-movies "echos". Jamie Foxx gets a better Elektro redesign, but the Green Goblin didn't bring the scrapped goblin look from Sam Raimi's concepts... I dunno.. It's both too much and not enough, if you get it?
The tipping point might be... I feel like this is either avoiding Venom or not showing him yet. And will it be the Sam Raimi Venom or the new Tom Hardy one? Or both???
Anyways, I will probably end up catching this at some point, but the film's coming up on theaters December 17.

I admit, I forgot this film was coming... And I will probably forget it again until I find it on a bargain bin in a few months...

And out of nowhere, Sony and Insomniac announced us another totally unexpected Marvel license, this time it's Wolverine's turn! I can dig that!
Can't wait! I haven't enjoyed any modern Wolverine game since the Gamecube era..

I can identify three villains allusions: Venom (obv), Kraven (our narrator?) and Elektro (the sparks?). Whad do you say?!
I like the dynamic gameplay between Pete and Miles. Reminds me of Batman and Nightwing/Robin fight sequences in the Arkham games.
This one is looking pretty good, tho. A strange mix of a live action Spider-Verse with a bit of Dr Strange 2 in the mix. I would have prefered a simpler more grounded Spider-Man film.. but then again, there's the Raimi films for that. So let this one be a bit more crazy over-the-top comic book-y:

This might end up awful... or be somewhat decent. All I know is thanks to Tom Hardy's acting I'll end up with another fantastic comedy and laugh for hours with Venom.
I don't like seeing Maximum Carnage that much condensed, edited down, simplified and changed.. but it was expected. The original comic was about several groupes (pure heroes: Spidey, Cloak, Dagger, etc.; anti-heroes: Venom, Black Cat, Morbius, etc.; and newer 1990s extreme villains: Carnage, Shriek, Demogoblin, etc.) coming together, clashing down in a long ongoing fight of ideology and good ol' superhero brawls on splash pages.
This movie, like the previous ones, seems to combine an origin story (Carnage's in this case), strip the story down of its Spider-man/Marvel-lore, and simplify all of this into a "good hero" vs his "evil doppelganger" (speaking of, no Spider-Doppelganger here either..). Which basically makes this film the same as the first one: Venom vs. evil symbiote. Only with Shriek replacing the rocket from the end of the previous one, I suppose. You have to get rid of the evil symbiote at the end, right..?
I never expected this to be faithful.
What is strange for me, is that Sony can almost make a real Maximum Carnage film. Just make a simple Carnage origin story first. Throw him into Ravencroft at the end. Make your Morbius origin story film. Allow MCU Spider-man to branch out into the Sony-verse, like everyone expects it to be, according to rumors. THEN make Maximum Carnage. Goody-2shoes Tom Holland will tag along one or more MCU heroes against Venom+Morbius (and just add Black Cat at that point) facing an escaped Carnage that tags along Shriek. And you can even improvise Spider-Doppelganger as a remnant from that parallel realities adventures. Bam! Maximum Carnage with the actual factions duking it out (LIKE THE SEGA GENESIS GAME, AW YEAH!!).
Anyways, let's shut up and watch the new trailer, shall we:

And here's the first trailer for the 4th Hotel Transylvania film, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA: TRANSFORMANIA! The third one felt kinda final, but I guess it's nice to have another one.
This one marks a few changes. First up the first film without Genndy on directing duties (oh-huh..), and Adam Sandler didn't return to voice Drac as well..
Let's hope this is still kinda fun, it does look like so. And I kinda dig the entire premise:

I'm hyped for this because I really enjoyed the Venom film.
Oh, never mind that, it was really bad, bad plot, bad characters, bad dialogues, bad VFX... but I somehow enjoyed it. Maybe because it reminded me of a big budget B-grade movie. I mean on an almost Roger Corman level, lots of recycled footage (the chase scenes kept running over the same street over and over and over and over again..). And because I've been re-reading a lot of Venom/Carnage material from the 1990s lately..

Why do I feel like this was partially caused by the pandemic's current lockdown? Silly random CGi-filled scene. Probably trying to cute it up following the reception of stuff like Baby Yoda and whatnot. It didn't require much cast nor crew present to shoot this kind of scene.
Wait and see....!
Also, Paul Rudd! I'm pretty much watching this for Paul Rudd.

I can't wait for Oddworld: Soulstorm! Hopefully we finally get a 100% original Oddworld game afterwards...
Otherwise, nothing much. Still no real reason to upgrade to PS5, fanboy reasons aside. Never get a game system early in its life. Plus no real exclusives. The jump to PS1->2 or ->3 had bigger impact. From PS4 to 5 it's just more powerful systems, nothing new gameplay or concept wise.
