 It's KRAVEN time! Or KRAVEN THE HUNTER were the friends we made along the way. Or..

I love how everyone's already memeing this film...  

 

 

I just wish they could keep and accumulate characters in these Spider-less spinoffs. Like by now this Kraven film should also feature Venom and Morbius (and Carnage?). Each new film getting more and more ridiculous with more and more villains/antiheroes, yet still no hero to fight...

#MARVELnews SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME - Official Trailer

 The more time passes, the more those early leaks are starting to get confirmed.

Here's the brand new trailer for SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, which I just discovered this morning before going to work...

It looks... weird.. chaotic... crossover-y... like an underwhelming comic book event/take on Into the Spider-Verse.. I'm both hyped and tired by looking at it all. I dig the returning villains, but less so the crossover-plot. I like the culmination of the Sinister Six, but not these past-movies "echos". Jamie Foxx gets a better Elektro redesign, but the Green Goblin didn't bring the scrapped goblin look from Sam Raimi's concepts... I dunno.. It's both too much and not enough, if you get it?

The tipping point might be... I feel like this is either avoiding Venom or not showing him yet. And will it be the Sam Raimi Venom or the new Tom Hardy one? Or both???

Anyways, I will probably end up catching this at some point, but the film's coming up on theaters December 17.

Something I'm not gonna bother to watch, to put it gently.

Anyways, here's crazy Jared Leto talking about the film as well as the new trailer - including a shoe-horned hint "a web or opportunity"... yeah.. right :

I admit, I forgot this film was coming... And I will probably forget it again until I find it on a bargain bin in a few months...

This comes next January.

And the first trailer for Jared Leto’s Morbius is here. They actually did it?? But WAIT! That's not the worst or strangest part of it...


See the Spider-man grafs? The Michael Keaton!Vulture tease at the end? It's the Rise of Sony's adjacent MCU-less MCU Sony Spider-Verse. Yeah. Like the MCU TV shows. It will reference the larger MCU, but I doubt it's gonna go both ways.

Morbius is directed by Daniel Espinosa and also stars Good Omens’ Adria Arjona. It hits theaters on July 31.

This looks... generally and generically decently fun. But also kinda boring, in a direct-to-video kind of way. I KNOW, I KNOW! It's just a trailer so far, but I can feel it already..



Anyways, I'm just laughing at the official Sony Pictures youtube channel description, for some reason:

Some people were highly anticipating the Venom spinoff movie! Personally I'm smelling a F4NT4STIC-level failure miles away. And by that I mean a desperate attempt at a quick cash-in on the MCU without being part of it, rushing a production, while they're also highly distanced from the fun colorful comic book-style movies and still ashamed of super powers and superheroes.

At least the poster was good tho.

"The first film in Sony's Marvel Universe, adjunct to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)." Tell me this sounds bad on the paper...

Couldn't they at least show us some of the titular character in this teaser?? The whole deal will work out based on how he looks, you know! Or at they going for a Legendary's Godzilla approach? I'm not sure this works with Venom...

I still wish Sony hadn't touched on Venom to allow Marvel to use him at some point later...

Imagine the twist if this is still in the Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-man-verse?

Strangely I feel like they could have made something with the long-rumored Black Cat/Silver Sable spy film. At least that could have worked out better without a Marvel Universe setting...

#Comics NEWS! SQUIRREL GIRL IS BACK, BUH-BEE!!

Not long ago Marvel registered a new trademark for Squirrel Girl. Lots of people thought that meant she was crossing over into the films (or video games?).

But it turns out they were just getting ready to launch her own first solo comic series!

It will be called UNBEATABLE SQUIRREL GIRL, by writer Ryan North and artist Erica Henderson. That's right Adventure Time comics and Dinosaur Comics writer!

A new monthly comic starting in January! She's even getting a new costume for this (Marvel NOW) occasion! Here's the cover (and alternate one from Art Adams) as well as her new design:

Looks like she's gonna kick a ton of ass!!

It's looking very nice so far and I'm 100% entirely looking forward to it! Can't wait!
