#Design - CustomCoverArt PC Various STEAM releases
Please! Do not ask for these! This was a personal job, not
outsourcing the work to other people. If you want me to work out
something for you, I will do so for money only.
I got several games on steam over the last two years, so I decided to make some fake game cases for my collection. Mostly my game series and some of my recent favorites.

#Ad - Spider-Man (Atari 2600) Commercial 1982
Here's a fantastic vintage ad for the Atari Spider-Man game with perhaps the best Green Goblin I've ever seen!
The game itself wasn't that bad either.

#Gaming NEWS! New Rollercoaster Tycoon trailer is out... looks like sh!t
As a long time old school fan of the original Rollercoaster Tycoon - spent so many hours on that game.. - I wasn't exactly expecting but curiout about the new game from Atari. I skipped all the previous sequels, but the idea of a new episode nowadays sounded fun. Why not?
And then they released the trailer for this upcoming RollerCoaster Tycoon World... and... just look:
"Hey, it starts out fine. It looks decent, I don't g..."
*cg-rendered cutscenes ends, gameplay begins*
"OH. MY. GOOOOOOOOD!!"
Am I the only that thinks the classic RcT games looked much better than this? Looks like some fanmade crappy mod...?!

#EyzTalks - Survival Horror land
Today let's talk about a genre I love. Survival Horror!
I'm a fan of the genre... but even so I have to admit... Most of the genre's iconic series have gone completely off rails nowadays... like all the creators left, the teams changed every game and barely anyone who created those first games are still working on the new installments (which is exactly what has happened). Yes. People seem to have forgotten what most of these classic games have been about.
And now producers are forcing studios to churn in random generic games to conform to whatever is popular and selling now.. instead of, say, simply make new games.
A Silent Hill game shouldn't look or feel like a Resident Evil game and both should neither play to be Alone in the Dark. They all have their own strengths and their own spin of the genre.
How far from their respective original movie template have they gone these last few years?

#Gaming NEWS! More info on this new AitD6
Okay.
I'm not really feeling this new Alone in the Dark game... at all.
Atari has just launched this new official "hi-tech" website for the game. We're you'll find the same teaser trailer, a couple of screens and enough information to make an idea on the game.
I fear this time the series has really jumped the shark...
Sure the last reboot was really off, kinda rushed and left such mixed impressions... but at least the concept was somewhat decent and it had a great unique atmosphere. (Really, having Central Park has a setting was pretty original in itself)
Apparently this Alone in the Dark: Illumination will bring back the H.P. Lovecraft aesthetics. So there's that at least.
But they describe it as a reinvention of the series. A "survival action horror". That means it's really a FPS action game this time.
There four playable characters - not "characters" and not "scenarios" as in the original and 4th game. Called "the Hunter, the Witch, the Priest and the Engineer". That means 4 classes and not actual protagonists. "Each offering a unique gameplay experience".
Man. They went all Left 4 Dead on us? Why not simply make a new IP then, Atari?!? Why???
The game will feature co-op multiplayer. Yeah, really nailing for the Left 4 Dead/Borderlands-type, are ya? The goal is to battle zombies the darkness. Sigh. And you can "create safe zones" with the "power of illumination". Again, yeah. Totally feels like an arcade-ysh/deathmatch experience instead of an actual adventure game like the original... why didn't they release the remake of the original classic instead again? The game will this time take place in an abandoned town in Virginia. Stuff happening down the local mines. Monsters. A facility. Etc.
The "hunter" guy picture above is supposedly a direct descendant of Edward Carnby - looks like they decided to go back to AitD4, kinda. He even has kind of the same face/design. The "witch" is also apparently the great-granddaughter of Emily Hartwood, the sadly forgotten second character of the original game. The rest of the cast is pretty forgettable to be honest... For all I care, the game could have feature three different playable incarnations of Carnby, it wouldn't change how generic and random this whole thing feels like...
The whole "Inspired by HP Lovecraft" really nails it in the ground, since I suppose they just mean cashing in on the name and adding a few tentacles to monsters here and there...
The best thing to come out of this entire game is probably this above concept art. If only they could surprise us and manage to recapture the feel of the original game... sigh..

#PAX News! Atari has some new games I might be interested in
Atari will be resurrecting some of the ol' franchises they obtained over the years.
First of all, one of my childhood favorites is making a comeback! Early next year exclusively on PC there's gonna be a "RollerCoaster Tycoon: World"!
I miss this series. I kinda only played THOUSANDS of hours of the first one and its original expansion (as well as a little of the second one). Glad to see it still exists.
Hopefully they'll avoid silly DLCs/micro-transaction traps that the last Sim City proved to be a bad idea.
Finally, there's some news regarding the new Alone in the Dark!
It's called a Alone in the Dark: Illumination, its PC exclusive as well. And here's the teaser trailer:
Hopefully more will be revealed soon.
But from the looks of it, this might be played in First Person (that wasn't just for the trailer I guess)... Mmmh.. Not sure I like the sound of that.
At best it will be an innovative experience in the style of the Amnesia series. At worst, it's just a cheap cash in on the "Playable Trailer" of the upcoming Silent Hills game.
And finally, another old Infogrames IP they decided to resurect, here's the trailer for Haunted House: Cryptic Graves:
This one shows a lot more of the design, the environments and the atmosphere.
Haunted House will be an adventure/puzzle/mystery.
For those who don't know, Haunted House was an old classic Atari game, which partially went on inspiring survival horrors a decade later:
The game was remade in a cartoony semi-sequel for the Wii, later re-released on Xbox Live:
Not to be confused with the unrelated PS2/Gamecub/Xbox game developed by High Voltage Software:
From the looks of the appropriate scenery, it sounds like Haunted House turned into Alone in the Dark, and Alone in the Dark turned a Condemned-sort of horror FPS.
Wait and see~

#Gaming NEWS! Alone in the Dark: Illumination officialized
We have a title for the rumored new episode of Alone in the Dark.
Apparently it will be titled Alone in the Dark: Illumination.
The game is being developed by a random new studio called "Pure FPS". And this surprise announcement is actually already planned for a release LATER THIS YEAR!?!?!?
I'm not feeling this "Pure FPS" studio. I mean, they have friggin' FPS in their name!!!
So will it be another reboot? A direct sequel to either the last game or the original trilogy? Or simply a reimagining/remake of the original game (a remake was rumored not that long ago, actually). Who knows. Some news are expected to come from PAX soon, since the game is supposedly coming LATER THIS YEAR!!!!

VGR Leisure Suit Larry 1
Since I just recently finished playing through the Kickstarter-financed Reload remake recently, here's a review of the original!
A "graphic" adventure game that took its title a bit too literally.
Don't worry, it's all played for laughs, it's just a parody!

Finally! I finally was able to reach the end of the original NES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! It's 2am here as I decide to write this review nonetheless.
