#GamingNEWS Rise of the Ronin - Official Gameplay Overview Trailer (4K) | State of Play 2024

Another Samurai game, sounds right up my alley! After the excellent Ghost of Tsushima, I'd rather have another original Samurai game than a sequel (cough..).

#AnimeNEWS NEW Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Animated Teaser Trailer(DBS 2022 Movie)

Dragon Ball is back... again. With an upcoming new feature film orchestrated by Akira Toriyama himself.

We don't have much on the film besides the title, which implies a return to one of Toriyama's favorite tropes, the super (sentai) hero! Which has been going since forever in Dragon Ball (the Great Saiyaman,, Jaco, the Galactic Patrolmen, the Ginyu Force, etc.).

But we got a teaser, indicating a sort of CGi-style animation for this new film:

And some concept arts of what to expect:

#HorrorNEWS Howling Village (2021) Official Trailer

Takashi Shimizu, the creator of Ju-On (The Grudge), is back with a brand new horror film!

It seems to explore familiar tropes of the Japanese horror genre. Which is nice to see him return to after a little exploration on the side with the live adaptation of Kiki's Delivery Service (and producing stuff  like the animated film Resident Evil: Vendetta).

“After her brother goes missing, Kanade, a young psychologist, visits his last known location, an infamous haunted and cursed site known as ‘Howling Village,’ to investigate his disappearance. Her investigation reveals that the village’s mysteries are connected to her family and works to uncover her family’s dark history.”

Bonus french title/poster.

It's titled Howling Village and seems to explore the same type of yokais and curses:

Directed and co-written (with Daisuke Hosaka) by Shimizu, Howling Village arrives in theaters on August 13 and then heads to on demand on August 17 (and home video on September 14).

#Design - CustomCoverArt PC Amnesia 3 + Soma, DVD Sweet Home, PS4 Last Of Us 2 + Until Dawn

Please! Do not ask for these! This was a personal job, not outsourcing the work to other people. If you want me to work out something for you, I will do so for money only.

To experiment around during this past holiday, I decided to make some mockup covers for the missing Frictional Games titles I didn't do yet, Amnesia 3 and Soma.

I was able to obtain an english-subs copy of the classic Japanese horror film Sweet Home from '89, the inspiration behing an old Nes game that became the first survival horror. But it didn't had a proper cover so I tried making one up on the go using some other fan mockups as inspirations.

So I received Last of Us Part II as a Xmas gift, but my cover was in spanish (!), so I had to make a new one. And I used this occasion to mashup some ideas I've seen floating around online.

I really enjoyed Little Hope, the second Dark Pictures game from Supermassive Games. So I decided to go back to Until Dawn... And then decided to give it a custom Dark Pictures cover to go along with the other two on the shelf, just for fun.

I'm not allowing the comments below to avoid the spam I usually get on these.

#Randomz Steven Universe - (Japanese)

Did you know Steven Universe sounds pretty dope in Japanese!

No, really. I just love the way they matched some of the VAs. Garnet... takes some getting used to. But everyone else is SPOT.ON.

Now, Steven Universe is actually an anime! Haha! Also check out Peri's lil' cute voice as well:

#GamingNEWS One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows - Announcement Trailer | PS4

Here's a new look at the upcoming One Punch Man fighting game. Looking pretty fun so far:

I really dig the quirky way they implemented Saitama in the game. Can't wait!

#AnimeNEWS Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 AVANT1@shinjuku

We finally have a first look at the long-awaited Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 4th "Rebuild" film! And it looks as weird, crazy and bonkers as the rest of Anno's cult series:

Neo Paris?

Things are gonna get stranger than ever, fans are going to be left puzzled with the meaning of all this in this conclusion to the entire EVA franchise, apparently still slated to be released in 2020.

#TVnews Ultraman | Official Trailer [HD] | Netflix

Here is the latest Ultraman series!

Coming to Netflix! From Production IG!

I miss the dudes in costume. This is still looking pretty neat tho.

#Randomz Go look for a job...dressed like a One Piece character!?

This is not a teaser for a japanese One Piece film. Instead it's just an ad for a job research agency.

But the fun part is that they used some actually famous actors and pretty good costumes... Like, "looking for a job" is like "looking for the one piece treasure"... ? (That's a pretty bad message.. isn't finding the one piece basically impossible and a never-ending quest?)

Anyways:
Posted by Oricon , this video stars actor Takumi Saitoh as Luffy, model Rika Izumi as Nami, comedian Daigo Yamamoto as Usopp, actor Hiroyuki Ikeuchi as Zoro and actor Yosuke Kubozuka as Sanji.

And here's the video:

#MusicBOX gegege no kitaro ゲゲゲの鬼太郎実写映画2007 live-action ghost dance

The ending to the first "gegege no kitaro" live action film. I just love this song and the silly dance! (Also, Rena Tanaka!)

Enjoy!

#Ad Japanese Commercials 2017

Nothing beats Japanese commercials. NOTHING I SAY!!!

Singing kappas, Death Note characters, Sega Sanshiro's return, Studio Ghibli's Kiki, these ads got it all!!

#MusicBOX CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA / 影山ヒロノブ (cover)

AMAZING cover!!!

#BestOf japanese spiderman

We all know who's the best Spider-man there is.

#AnimeNEWS CITY HUNTER (NICKY LARSON ET LE PARFUM DE CUPIDON) "Bande Annonce" (2019)

So french studios decided to adapt the cult classic manga/anime City Hunter into a new live action film (and the director's actually playing the lead role). And it looks...

....pretty weird. It's no Dragon Ball Evolution, for sure. But this seems the exact opposite, like cheap cosplays in a pretty bland and boring action/comedy film. I do like the girl, though. She seems to play the part.

And in case you're really disappointed, fear not. There's a new 2019 anime movie coming up straight from Japan:

At least they seem to remember the pulp/jazz/thrilller aspect of the series.

#Fanmade Avengers Infinity War anime opening

Wow! This works specially well with Infinity War, must be those gorgeous "epic" shots:

Also that final scene with little Gamora and Thanos was pretty anime-inspired already, so it really fits this "opening".

Source: Amazingly well-put together by MytholoGeek.

#HorrorNEWS One Cut of the Dead

This seems like a great new cult movie!

#GamingNEWS JUMP FORCE - NEW Characters Trailer (Gamescom 2018)

How does JUMP FORCE manage to both look great and off-putting at the same time...?! The idea to put anime characters in a realistic setting sounds fun at first... but then you get toy-like looking characters over it..?

The game seems to be a new "Tenkaichi Budokai"-style fighting game. With similar simple inputs and overhead/shoulder camera.

#AnimeNEWS Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 coming in 2020

This is as good a news as we'll ever get with Anno.

The 4th and final long-awaited Evangelion reboot movie, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0, will be released in 2020 apparently:

The last film in the "Rebuild" series, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, was released back in 2012. But then Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno got sidetracked with Shin Godzilla...

#BestOf Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers - Symbiote Spider-Man VS Black Widow + Deadpool

Is the best current Marvel animated series... an anime?

Well, not really. Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers is still a pretty bland generic shonen anime with kids calling for Marvel super-heroes, Yu-Gi-Oh!-style. But this Black suit Spider-Man sequence and even what they did with Deadpool is pretty awesome, if you ask me. Check these out:

Well worth a look, even if you're just a Marvel fan who's not big on animes.

But if you check related-videos you will notice it's actually usually pretty bad.
