Nice. I do see both the Swery and the Suda aesthatic mixed in there! I wasn't expecting a 2.5D hack and slash though. But the killer and weirdness is all here.

#Blog Scott Pilgrim Vs The Collector Edition!

I just finally received the long-awaited Special Edition physical re-release of the cult classic Scott Pilgrim Vs The World game (for the Switch) from Limited Run Games!! 

And I gotta say, the wait was worth it. Pre-ordered basically a full year ago (January 2021!), this is beautiful! Easily the best looking SE I've ever saw if there ever was one, and just the same content-wise.

It's packed-filled with everything you'd expect a Collector Edition. Soundtrack (both CD and old school tape). Stickers. Posters. Art book/behind the scenes book. Collector box (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis-style). Color manual (SNES-style). Etc. What's missing? I don't even know what they could have added in there.

But instead the whole entire box is a freakin' awesome musical box (check out the video below).

So much nostalgia for such a relatively recent comic book series. I loved this series by Bryan O'Malley, and I hope to see more from him someday.

 I love how we just had the announcement of a retro TMNT beat 'em all game. And now this, the announcement of a retro Asterix game. For those not familiar with Asterix, there has been several pretty fun Asterix games back in the past (I particularly enjoyed the Master System and Mega Drive episodes). So this was a welcome surprise:

Suddenly.. Dotemu (Streets of Rage 4) announces a really old school-looking classic-style TMNT 2D beat 'em up, with the ok from Nickelodeon/Viacom!! 

It's called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and looks very reminiscent of the MD and SNES titles, check it out:

Yeah, I’m kinda late to the part, but I had been waiting for my Limited Run physical copy.

Plus, hey, it’s like I’m celebrating SEGA’s 60th Anniversary all year, right from the start here in January!

So I just received two games today:

And OF COURSE I had to select the “Classic Edition” collector’s edition! It almost felt like received a brand new Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and Saturn games!

Well, the lovely Panzer Dragoon Remake looks like an actual 100% authentic Saturn jewel case. They gave SoR4 this huge Universal Box-style case, I guess to be able to include PS4/Switch game cases in there.

The collector stuff is, of course, really nice. Colorful manuals. Shiny cards. Etc.

SoR4′s got this lovely limited ed. soundtrack.

And here’s a picture I had been hitching to take since it was announced..

The collection is looking really, really nice.

I find it funny how the cartridges used to be huge and the game cases “normal”, and now we have the exact opposite with this really tiny cartridge and this huge game case! Haha!

#GamingNEWS Marvel's Avengers — Kamala Khan NYCC Announcement Trailer

This is honestly the first time this weird photorealistic Marvel's Avengers game by Square Enix has actually looked kinda interesting. It looked like a really off-putting fake MCU thing. But now it's actually starting to look like its own thing.

More importantly, Ms Marvel/Kamala Khan is in the game! And she seems pretty important for the plot actually - COLOR ME INTERESTED (finally)!!

While we wait for more news regarding the recently-announced Shantae 5, WayForward just revealed their brand new game, River City Girls!

That's right, a throwback to old school beat 'em alls, and more precisely the awesome River City Ransom, in collaboration with ArcSys no less!

I gotta say this new Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is looking pretty nice so far. I'm getting nostalgic vibes from playing the original X-Men Legends and the other two Marvel Ultimate Alliance:



Also, loving the blend of modern Marvel heroes, like the Bendis-inspired GotG and Daredevil. Now gimme a couple more X-Men and Ghost Rider!!

#MarvelNEWS MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order - Announcement Trailer (Nintendo Switch™)

So apparently we will be getting a Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3! About ten years after the last one!

Only this time the game will be developed by Team Ninja of all studios! Check out the return of this fun beat 'em all/dungeon-crawler series:



I like the fact it seems to be adapting elements from Black Vortex, a fun X-men/GotG crossover comic event, only with Thanos' Black Order instead. It's not on the same scale as Civil War, but I find it fitting for this game.

The game will be exclusive to the Switch. And before people say "When will this be released on.." note that this is published by Nintendo. And I don't remember Nintendo publishing games for the PS4 or Xbox 1....

Holy moley!!!

They announced a Streets of Rage 4?? From the same team that made the Monster World remake?? And it looks friggin' gorgeous!!! I CANT WAIT!!!

Lizardcube, Guard Crush Games and Dotemu are thrilled to present Streets of Rage 4.
Featuring hand-drawn visuals from the team behind 2017’s gorgeous Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake, Streets of Rage 4 builds upon the classic trilogy’s gameplay with new mechanics, a fresh story and a gauntlet of dangerous stages with a serious crime problem.

We can only see a little bit of the game so far, but it looks FRIGGIN beautiful!!! 

Now please just confirm the return of Yuzo Koshiro on the music part and things will be perfect.

So after comparing the sales between the HD re-releases of Devil May Cry 1-4 and Ninja Theory’s DmC: Devil May Cry, Capcom decided to return to the OG series and announce a . Devil May Cry 5! Check this out:



There's a quick cameo of the original Dante right there at the end. (Although I find Dante's successor to be quite reminiscent of nuDante. With a best of Dante's gameplay techniques.)

Game's coming up in spring 2019 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

I feel like I've been waiting my whole life for a Bud Spencer & Terence Hill video game!

How I would have loved to see one back on the Mega Drive... sigh...

Anyway, a small indie dev is going to do just that! FINALLY! It's called Slaps and Beans, it looks pretty fun and hilarious, and even seems to cover several of their films!
