#MovieNEWS JACOB'S LADDER (2019) Official Trailer

And here's the trailer for the JACOB'S LADDER remake nobody asked for. Or as I like to call it, Hollywood producers taking a dump on another of my all-time favorite films:

In a couple of shots I can already see it looks bland, cheap and generic, trailer issues aside.

#DeletedScenes P.T. / Silent Hills Concept Movie - TGS 2014

Sometimes I still wonder what Kojima's P.T./Silent Hills mighty have actually become. Aside from a great original creepy demo, it wasn't that Silent Hill-ysh, so you got to wonder how the final product might have represented the Silent Hill series...

VGR Silent Hill: Downpour

While I'm still having some issues with my computer, I was finally able at work today to prepare this review I illustrated last week.

Let's go back to SILENT HILL one more time and see if there's anything worth looking back!

#HorrorMovieNEWS A Cure for Wellness Official Trailer

Here is a trailer for A Cure for Wellness.

Gore Verbinski finally made his long-rumored psychological horror film with Dane DeHaan. And in case you're wondering, he was the director that had been trying for years to make the BioShock live-action adaptation. And it seems he might have recycled some of the work and ideas they developed during the preproduction of that scrapped project into this film. Check this out:

This looks fantastic so far! Creepy!

VGR Silent Hill 4: The Room

Let's mark the 10th anniversary Silent Hill 4 with this special review, with a little delay - and I'm probably one of those few people that probably will want to celebrate the ten years of this episode.

Some people believe this game didn't start as part of the Silent Hill series, but it was always meant to be a Silent Hill game. Only it was originally going to be a spinoff title, and not part of the numeral series while an actual Silent Hill 4 was being developed in parallel. It's kinda funny how not only did The Room end up part of the main series but also both the last numbered Silent Hill entry AND Team Silent's last game in the franchise.

1PanelReview John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness

While we never got a proper follow-up to John Carpenter's The Thing (aside from video game & comics continuations and a Hollywood-produced prequel), what we got instead where thematically similar films, Carpenter's own spiritual successor to the thing. The first one in 1987 was John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness, with this 1995 film forming what is collectively known as John Carpenter's "Apocalypse Trilogy".

It might not be Hollywood's idea of a "sequel", but this is as good as it gets. Same creator, same subject and different execution. Here's John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness...

#EyzTalks - Survival Horror land

Today let's talk about a genre I love. Survival Horror!

I'm a fan of the genre... but even so I have to admit... Most of the genre's iconic series have gone completely off rails nowadays... like all the creators left, the teams changed every game and barely anyone who created those first games are still working on the new installments (which is exactly what has happened). Yes. People seem to have forgotten what most of these classic games have been about.

And now producers are forcing studios to churn in random generic games to conform to whatever is popular and selling now.. instead of, say, simply make new games.

A Silent Hill game shouldn't look or feel like a Resident Evil game and both should neither play to be Alone in the Dark. They all have their own strengths and their own spin of the genre.

How far from their respective original movie template have they gone these last few years?
