I thought I was losing interest in the current slate of recent Marvel stuff.. but they got me right back in with the last few titles. Case in point, a second Thor movie from Taika Waititi. With a Thor movie a lot more J Michael Straczynski/Jason Aaron-inspired this time around. Check this out!

This might end up my favorite Thor movie!

#Short Deadpool and Korg React

There's a fun upcoming new flick starring Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi. It's called Free Guy.

So I immediately went to Ryan's official youtube channel and found this little hidden gem, Deadpool and Korg React to the trailer of Free Guy:

I'm starting to think Deadpool has finally went full on Tyler Durden on Ryan Reynolds...

Also, does this count as Deadpool's official MCU debut?

Here's the trailer for Taika Waiti's hilarious-looking new film, JOJO RABBIT!

Yes, the movie's still coming through "Fox Searchlight" - now owned by Disney! Some producers were probably trying to prevent this from getting released...

It definitively seems pretty much in the same vein as his older films, despite having made a huge Marvel film in between films.



The film is coming soon, on October 18.

#StarWarsNEWS The Mandalorian first pic

Wow.

I do like the look of this new character for the upcoming live-action Star Wars TV show.

Long rumored and stuck in development hell for ages, George Lucas' dream of an episodic Star Wars tv series is finally coming to life thanks to the Jon Favreau-produced (yes! that's right!) new show which will apparently be titled The Mandalorian.

Very old west-ysh. I like that name.

The show will feature a rotating team of directors, including Clone Wars/Rebels alum Dave Filoni directing the first episode (!), followed by Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World) and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) no less!!

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

I can't wait! This might end up far more entertaining and original than the current sequel films/spinoff episodes.

While there's talks of an upcoming American-adaptation TV series of director Taika Waititi's earlier film What We Do in the Shadows for FX, Waititi and his co-creator Jemaine Clement are about to produce a spinoff TV series called Wellington Paranormal. Which revolve around the same police crew from his little indie film.

This time it won't just be about vampires but also all kinds of supernatural stuff in mostly mundane day-to-day situations.

#MarvelNEWS Thor: Ragnarok Teaser Trailer

It seems Taika Waititi did the impossible - he made a great and fun-looking Thor film! I know it's just the teaser trailer, and it only seems to reveal parts of the first act, but this already looks like a lot of fun!



It's both a continuation from the previous two films, and kind of a soft reboot for these films. That plus  Waititi's unique style and creative tone, and some of that Guardians of the Galaxy humor might have influenced this film. Plus it's part-Planet Hulk and even has some of The Unworthy Thor (the current comics) in there!! What's more to ask!?!

I cannot wait! Thor: Ragnarok will be out by the end of the year, in November.

Taika Waititi seems to be the perfect director to finally make me care about the Thor films. Don't mistake me, I love the character, I love the cast of these films and I would love to actually enjoy these Thor movies.. but they always come short. The first film had a lot of fun, a great setting.. but nothing much in the final act to make it stand out. It was a nice setup for Thor, Loki and Asgard for the Avengers films, I can tell you that. The Dark World still had great characterization but it was all it had. Aside from that the film was a big mess with no actual proper story and a boring foe/menace throughout the film...

Taika Waititi is the director behind the third film. He's a great funny guy who made some very promising indie and small budget films. Plus he really seems to be having fun making this film - which will actually be a blend of the Ragnarok storyline AND Planet Hulk!!

And he's been making these hilarious little shorts to accompany both Civil War and Doctor Strange. Check these out, they're much better than the two previous Thor films combined!!



I kinda prefer to see Chris Hemsworth do comedy than action roles lately...
