Wow.
I do like the look of this new character for the upcoming live-action Star Wars TV show.
Long rumored and stuck in development hell for ages, George Lucas' dream of an episodic Star Wars tv series is finally coming to life thanks to the
Jon Favreau-produced (yes! that's right!) new show which will apparently be titled
The Mandalorian.
Very old west-ysh. I like that name.
The show will feature a rotating team of directors, including Clone Wars/Rebels alum
Dave Filoni directing the first episode (!), followed by
Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones),
Rick Famuyiwa (Dope),
Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World) and
Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) no less!!
Here's a first look at the show:
And here's the official pitch:
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire
and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a
lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the
authority of the New Republic.
I can't wait! This might end up far more entertaining and original than the current sequel films/spinoff episodes.
