Well, not really (we get pretty far counting all fake Jaws-titled films, tho..), but this was an awesome vid made for the Back to the Future 30th Anniversary.
I'm pretty sure I posted this a couple of times already, but it's always fun to look back at.
I really disliked Deep Blue Sea 2. It was like a cheap B-movie SyFy take on Deep Blue Sea, which already was a tribute to B-grade shark movies in itself, right down to A-list actors killed early on and twists in the plot.
And here we have Deep Blue Sea 3. Which looks like a ripoff downgrade of Deep Blue Sea 2. How does that even work?
I still think they could have made an actually good series of Deep Blue Sea.. but they somehow missed what was actually good in the original film..
And when nobody was expecting or asking for it... a random direct-to-video sequel to an unrelated movie, made by nobody that worked on the original!
Did you know they're making a sequel to one of my underrated classics from the 90s, Deep Blue Sea? The original 1999 horror shark movie was about scientists trying to cure Alzheimer, only to create a super-intelligent
killer super-sharks! Oh, and it ate Samuel L. Jackson mid-monologue. Spoilers, I guess?
Now the people that behind such SyFy shark classics like Sharknado, Sharknado 2 and Sharknado: Heart of Sharkness, are producing Deep Blue Sea 2! A totally loosely related sequel. It's directed by Darin Scott, a director best known for schlock films. And none of the original cast.
I really wanted to start reviewing several more random films using this new quick format for my reviews. So here's an horror film to loosely tie-in this Halloween season....
