#NINTENDOnews some games from this last Nintendo Direct

A ton of stuff was showed during the last Nintendo Direct! Well, some stuff caught my eyes, including...

Another recent DK game, Donkey Kong Country Returns, is being ported to the Switch. Kinda weird to have this one released after the sequel, but there it is.

Metroid fans have been eating good lately. Re-releases. A new 2D title. And it's time for the new 3D title, it's about darn' time! Prime 4 is here!

While I'm more hyped to see Luigi Mansion 2 re-released outside a handheld system, Mario & Luigi fans rejoiced, the series is back as well! After Mario RPG and Mario vs. Donkey Kong, it's time for Mario & Luigi: Brothership to make a comeback! I admit, I never tried this series...

And finally, my favorite surprise in the bunch... a brand new Zelda game!

Not only that, a "brand new" game, not another port or remake.

Not only that, but using the same artstyle as Link's Awakening! Which is a great idea, it would be dump to not use that style direction for one more game!

And not only that but a game where you play as Zelda! It's truly a Legend of Link instead this time around! She got her own smart gameplay, since Link uses the triforce or courage with his weapons, she uses the triforce of wisedom..and therefore powers based on magic!

AND the gameplay seems to be a mix of the openworld sandbox of the last couple of main Zelda games mixed with the upgrade-gating progression of the classic games. It all sounds pretty interesting.

AND AND AND.. it's already coming this september!!

I'm all in! Can't wait!!

#Design - CustomCoverArt N64 Taz Express, NES Pitfall & Freddy Vs Jason, GB Mickey Mouse IV & GBA Mario Bros DX

Please! Do not ask for these! This was a personal job, not outsourcing the work to other people. If you want me to work out something for you, I will do so for money only.

Trying to complete my game collection recently, I've ordered a few empty game cases to produce some cover art for my last remaining naked cartridges.

Here's some NES mod repros that also needed protective cases.

Here's some remaining Game Boy titles.

And right here, this is probably my best cover to date, I'm so proud of the result of this one.

As usual, comments disabled here to avoid the spam I get on these.

#MovieNEWS The Super Mario Bros Movie - Official Plumbing Commercial (2023) Chris Pratt, Charlie Day

The best ad I've seen for this animated film, so far. Color me converted to the cause!

The MARIO RAP!

And the animation is gorgeous as well.

#NintendoNEWS The Super Mario Bros. Movie - Official Trailer (Universal Pictures) HD

Alright, color me hyped! I'm loving all I'm hearing from the voice cast. Mario fits. Bowser is badass. Luigi is perfect. I love the Mario Kart references! And the Galaxies! Yoshis! The Kong (I like their Aztec-inspired look in a Mario setting, but wouldn't like it for a DK spinoff/game..)

CANT WAIT!!!

#NintendoNEWS The Super Mario Bros. Movie Official Teaser Trailer

I'm still not sure how I feel about this.. movie so far.

Illumination definitively stepped up their game for this one, the art style and animation looks miles beyond anything they've done in the past. As for the new interpretation, tone and voices... hmm.. I need to see more to get used to it all.

Some bits are weirdly too serious. It acts as an origin story for the games?? The new original kingdoms feel off to Nintendo's world building. Jack Black is maybe the only thing I'm sold on so far.

The film is called "Super Mario Bros." (well, like the games, of course) but so far it didn't put much emphasis on the whole "super" nor "brothers" aspect. I do like seeing Luigi paired with the spooky elements as usual tho.
You know what all this reminds me of actually? Not the game. But the ol' Super Mario comics from way back when.

Or maybe it's just not for me. Wait and see...

#NintendoDirect News An unexpected Zelda remake and a Mario spinoff sequel

I'm sure some people were expecting more news from Metroid. Or even a surprise Zelda semi-sequel using the Breath of the Wild engine... but not... this? And this is still good, mind you. Only... what? I didn't expect that for sure!

First up a surprise brand new remake of one of my all-time favorite obscure Zelda games, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening!

Here is the Announcement Trailer, which is an anime-revamp of the original GB game's cutscene:

Wow! The intro looked really, really good. The visuals are... a bit weird to put it simply. But after rewatching it I'm kinda digging the style finally. The overworld seems nice, but Link will take some used to. The music is already PHENOMENAL though! Bring it! After a huge sandbox modern Zelda, a retro-style one is exactly what the Switch needed!

The second surprise was the randomly-announced as well Super Mario Maker 2! The first one was a great surprise, I guess this is part for the course:

Like before, people will mess around the engine to have fun. And some talented folks will actually end up making fantastic stuff with it.

#E3 Day 3 - Nintendo swoops in

This E3's been pretty boring if you ask around. But aside from a few titles nothing really caught my attention.

Then Nintendo came in with the return of several of their classic franchises, and everyone's losing their pants! Even though I'm not a huge fan of their newly announced games, it's nice to see them bring a strong game to help keep the Switch "relevant" (for the lack of a better word).

#E3 Day 2 - UBI-san

Day 2 of E3 brought the Ubisoft conference and some nice surprises.

I won't repost the whole Assassin's Creed Origins stuff, even though I really enjoyed what I saw. Instead let's move forward.

#GamingNEWS Introducing... the Nintendo Switch!?

It's official!

Nintendo has officially announced their new system, the successor to the Wii U is already here! (Thanks "Wii U"!). And all the rumors are finally confirmed...

Introducing... the Nintendo Switch! Which is going to be an hybrid portable/home system console, Nintendo completely reimagining home gaming!

Their presentation even confirmed a ton of third party developers and a look at various proprieties like Mario, Splatoon and even Skyrim (!) to reassure hardcore gamers. Check this out!

Honestly?! I'm not really sold. At all. (Hey! I'm currently playing through both a Dreamcast and a PS2 title, I'm old school!) But the unveiling of this new system seems to be getting a lot of positive reception so far, at least from what I've seen online.

Wait and see...

#MusicBOX - Super Mario Land music video

Here's the most random thing you'll probably see all day - a vintage old school rap music video based on Super Mario Land - yeah, you read that right!

Epic stuff! And cheesy too!

#MusicBOX - Go Go Mario!

What, you don't know the Go Go Mario? Here is the song, from a live representation back in 2003:

You know this is the official version with vocals as far as Nintendo go.

If you wanna check out the lyrics in English, check the description of the any of these videos. And if you miss the American version, well let's DO THE MARIO with this opening theme song instead:

I always loved the way he almost falls down there at the end. Hey, he also made a clumsy step during the beginning of the intro as well!

#FanFilmFriday - First Person Super Smash Bros.

Did you ever wonder what Smash Bros. would look like in first person? Well the crew at SoKrispyMedia asked that very same question and put it into film. Check this out!

Well done, guys!

This was pretty funny!
