So everyone's doing "online conventions" lately, what with our current Post-Covid world (not really, you know what I mean, let's not get into details..).
Ubisoft did their own "not E3" reveals and announcements.
Let's see what they had for us in store...
A new Trials - those silly lil' games are always fun, aren't they? Here's some upcoming events added to Trials Rising:
We got a new Watch Dogs! You all remember Watch Dogs, don't you? Here's some Watch Dogs: Legion:
Far Cry 6!! Aka "more of the same: the new Far Cry entry":
And the long-awaited Assassin's Creed Valhalla! I dig Vikings, this seems fun:

#GamingNEWS Assassin's Creed Origins leaked
While Ubisoft has announced there will be a new Assassin's Creed game released before March 2018, some leaked info has been going around the web thanks to some retailers that have broken street dates concerning an upcoming pre-order card....
Looks like the rumors of an Ancient Egypt AC game was right! This might be the perfect blend of Assassin's Creed gameplay and Prince of Persia-style atmosphere I was looking for. Can't wait for some info! (Maybe at this year's E3?)

#Fanmade - Assassin's Creed Trailer // Re-edited with Game's Soundtrack
Alright, some fans - at BinarySunProductions - have re-edited the Michael Fassbender's Assassin's Creed film (or as I like to call it, Fassassin's Creed) with the actual game music. And it's a ton better than the cheesy cliché mainstream rap-music one. Check it out:
ALRIGHT! Now we're talking! I'm finally properly hyped for the film now! Why didn't they do that right away? Even for mainstream audiences this sounds a ton better, more appropriate and more epic!!!

#Movie NEWS! Assassin's Creed Trailer World Premiere
Finally, a trailer for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed live action film! And it looks actually pretty decent:
I'm absolutely not sold on the rap music and the robot arm-Animus, but everything else looks fairly AC-ysh.
And it's supposed to be canon with the games! (like the comics!)

#Design - PC Freedom Cry, Final Exam, Hydrophobia & Rocket Knight custom cover art
Please! Do not ask for these! This was a personal job, not
outsourcing the work to other people. If you want me to work out
something for you, I will do so for money only.
I'm not a big steam-user or just big on digital games because I admit it - I'm totally materialistic. I need some actual boxes to feel a sense of "ownership". That's why I decided to make a few mockup covers for a few digital games I own, at least to motivated myself to finally play through these this year and still proudly have them in my collection next to the rest of my games.

#Movie NEWS! 1st pic of Assassin’s Creed: The Movie
No, this is not a picture of Michael Fassbender cosplaying as Ezio from the Assassin’s Creed video game series, but it's actually the first pic and our first look at the upcoming Assassin’s Creed live action film.
Yes, it appears it is now finally officially happening!
The film is set to star Michael Fassbender as "Callum Lynch", an original protagonist as to better fit the game continuity and be part of the overall main canon of the franchise. The story will see Abstergo creating the Animus. - which allows people to relive the genetic history of their ancestors. Fassbender will also probably play the ancestor of Lynch, Aguilar, a 15th-Century Spanish assassin.
The release date is set for December 21, 2016. The film will star Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams and Ariane Labed, and it will be directed by Justin Kurzel.

#Ubisoft NEWS! First poster for the Assassin’s Creed: The Movie
First Assassin’s Creed: The Movie teaser poster? First Assassin’s Creed: The Movie teaser poster!
O...kay. It's just an eagle - the iconic animal linked with the franchise -, the logo, and a date.
In case you didn't knew, yes, this is a thing. The film will be produced through Ubi's new film branch, Ubisoft Motion Pictures. It appears the film is boringly simply titled "Assassin’s Creed: The Movie". I was honestly expecting a subtitle or something. Does this mean it will be directly based on the first game of the series? I was expecting another tale in the same universe...
The Assassin’s Creed movie will be directed by Macbeth director Justin Kurzel. And the film might be quite similar to this Macbeth (which is getting a lot of good reviews btw), the film will also star Macbeth leads Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. Will be get to see Desmond from the first few AC games back?
This Assassin’s Creed will be released next year on December 21, 2016.

#Ubisoft NEWS! New Assassin’s Creed game confirmed
Ubisoft finally confirmed the new Assassin’s Creed game. It's won't be titled Victory, as the initial rumors said, but instead will be called Syndicate.
Here's the pretty decent cover art:
The game will be released exclusively for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. This time it will take place in Victorian London, in 1868. And there will be two main characters, both a male and a female protagonists, the brother/sister duo of Jacob and Evie Frye.
Here's the official announcement trailer:
And some gameplay footage:
Looks decent. In fact this seems to have a lot more personality than Unity had.
This time the game won't feature any multiplayer - which is great news for this type of annual game. At least that means more work and effort put into the development of the actual single player experience. And it appears some historic figures like Charles Darwin and Charles Dickens will appear in one form or another in the story.
You might join the bandwagon and hate on the series all you want, I'm still surprised and glad to see a huge mainstream series play with and introduce history to gamers all over the world. Just for the sake of the "Ezio saga" alone, how many young kids would have never looked into Renaissance and the culture of Italy, not counting all the paintings, rich history and geography they managed to pack into these games? It's a lot more recommendable in my eyes than all those annoying similarly-yearly produced sports game if you ask me.

Seriously, Ubi? More Pre-order/Season pass-shenanigans? You know I'll just ignore all as usual??

#UBI News! Moar Assassin's Creed.. but WAIT! It's different this time!
Ubisoft just announced a, ahem, "couple" of new Assassin's Creed games.
But what I like about this whole thing is that this time it's gonna be a little different.
Remember that "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China" revealed a while back ago? Turns out this will be part of a new spinoff series titled Assassin's Creed Chronicles. Smalled 2.5D sidescrollers, kind of like those previous handheld AC games.
The first one will be "China" and will star Shao Jun from the Assassin's Creed: Embers animated film. Yay! I liked the character!
The following episodes "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India" and "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia" will feature respectively Arbaaz Mir and Nikolai Orelov. From the really good AC comic book series Assassin’s Creed Brahman and Assassin’s Creed The Fall/The Chain. I love to finally see these comic book characters crossing over into the games - it's about time!
Check out Ubisoft's recently released trailer:
The India game is looking particularly nice, it reminds me of the original Prince of Persia series.
I know some kids and some fanboys are already complaining it's "just 2D games", but I welcome this change of pace. (kinda getting burnout from all the recent sandbox open world AC games personally...) Also I can see this as Ubi testing waters for these new settings.
Here's the official synopsis:
The first of these three games Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China will be out for PS4, Xbox One and PC on April 21 for $9.99 or free if you have the AC: Unity season pass.

Here's the official synopsis:
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China - Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China takes place in China, 1526, as the Ming dynasty starts to crumble. You embody Shao Jun, the last remaining Assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood, returning to her homeland with a vendetta. Newly trained by the legendary Ezio Auditore, she is hell-bent on exacting vengeance and restoring her fallen Brotherhood.
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India - Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India throws you into the tension between the Sikh Empire and the East India Company in 1841. When a Master Templar arrives with a mysterious item that used to belong to the Assassin Order, Arbaaz Mir must discover why he’s come, steal back the item, and protect his friends and his lover.
Hopefully the trilogy will be re-released at some point later on in a pack. I could totally see this coming to one of the handhelds like the 3DS. Hey, Ubi, is there any chance for a Vita re-release like you just did with Child of Light?Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia - Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia occurs in Russia, 1918. Nikolai Orelov wants to leave with his family, but is required to perform one last mission for the Assassin Order: infiltrate the house where the tsar’s family is being held by the Bolsheviks and steal an artifact that has been fought over by Assassins and Templars for centuries. Along the way, he witnesses the massacre of the tsar’s children, but manages to save the princess, Anastasia. He must escape the Templars while protecting the artifact and Anastasia.
The first of these three games Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China will be out for PS4, Xbox One and PC on April 21 for $9.99 or free if you have the AC: Unity season pass.

#AssassinsCreed NEWS! New AC game leaked already!?
Another leak at Ubisoft... or a clever PR stunt?
A new Assassin's Creed's been revealed. It's titled "Assassin's Creed Victory" for now.
Apparently the game's going to take place in the United Kingdom, this time! Nice change of pace! Climbing Big Ben's gonna be awesome! It also seem to take place around the time of Jack the Ripper - why wouldn't it?
Here's some screenshots leaked along the video Kotaku just "found":
It gives a nice look into the new gameplay features. A bit too well, in my eyes. That's why I doubt it's just a "leak". The game is coming next year by the same time, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
I'm not sure I like the sound of another annual AC game coming out so soon. And being revealed so soon. Didn't they say the franchise would be taking a year-long break? And then we got the official announcement of Rogue and Unity early this year. It's getting way too fast!! And I'm saying that as a huuuuuuuge fan of the franchise...

#Ubisoft NEWS! Assassin’s Creed Unity: Time Anomaly Trailer
Waitaminute!
Apparently there's gonna be some kind of "anomalies" in the new Assassin's Creed Unity game.
Which really translates to trippy mashup of different eras. It doesn't mean you're gonna travel through time - like I read some websites report (didn't they understand any of the whole Animus-storyline thingie?) - but that you/the player experiencing those memories are gonna have to wander through time crashing down in the simulation machine.
It's not making the ancestor/protagonist in the past era travel to the future - duh!
Anyway, I gotta say this looks pretty neat:
Color me intrigued!
Also - finally some futuristic settings (in a way!) in the series!

#Gaming NEWS! Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass Trailer
Shao Jun from the Assassin’s Creed Embers animated movie is finally getting a game appearance!
Granted, it's only a 2.5D sidestory/DLC, but it's a start!
I'm okay with a 2.5D AC game. I mean, kinda like the first AC Nintendo DS game. That should be fun for this "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China".
She'll be part of the Season Pass pack, but will no doubt be available as a stand alone later on like Adéwalé's Freedom Cry pack for ACIV.
