#AnimeNEWS “Dragon Ball DAIMA” Teaser Trailer / Fall 2024

 Dragon Ball Super is half-dead, half-converted into a series of films + the ongoing promo manga by Toyotaro. Some people on copium keep dreaming of a new season (hahahaha).

Anyways, meanwhile Toei announced the next/new Dragon Ball series, the long-rumored Dragon Ball DAIMA!

Behind the scenes, Toriyama even more in control, not only of the story and design but the actual art direction of the new show, which actually looks like Toriyama's current art style.

So far it's all pretty mysterious aside from the fact that 1- everyone is turned into kids and 2- it serves as a big anniversary special for the franchise. People claim it takes place between Buu and DBS. Other say after Broly/Super Hero. And finally some think this is the big DBGT retcon, including the space adventures, becoming a kid again. We'll see. Maybe everything like end up canon together, GT, Super and Daima. Toei surely doesn't care, why should you?

I hope the music is good. And please slow down on transformations, just playing with martial arts and choreography for a while.

Who ever expected that? I remember some test pilot from adult swim for a possible animated version of Scott Pilgrim.. but here we finally are. 2023. An animated version of Scott Pilgrim is finally a reality, and it will both look close to the original Graphic Novels and feature the actual cast of the live action film!

And it looks gorgeous!

#AnimeNEWS NEW Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Animated Teaser Trailer(DBS 2022 Movie)

 Dragon Ball is back... again. With an upcoming new feature film orchestrated by Akira Toriyama himself. 

We don't have much on the film besides the title, which implies a return to one of Toriyama's favorite tropes, the super (sentai) hero! Which has been going since forever in Dragon Ball (the Great Saiyaman,, Jaco, the Galactic Patrolmen, the Ginyu Force, etc.).

But we got a teaser, indicating a sort of CGi-style animation for this new film:

#AnimeNEWS Godzilla: Singular Point TVアニメ『ゴジラS.P＜シンギュラポイント＞』PV／#ゴジラSP

This new Godzilla anime series looks pretty good.

Hey, they're even bringing back JET JAGUAAAAAA!!!

Titled Godzilla: Singular Point, directed by Atsushi Takahashi and produced by Bones Studio and Orange Co. The series follows two young geniuses, Mei Kamino and Yun Arikawa, as they work together to stop the rising Kaiju threat.

 Check out this first trailer, full of quick glimpses of kaijus!! Looking neat so far!

I'd rather have a new feature film instead of a series (I can't keep up with episodes...), but this is looking nice.

#MusicBOX Gegege no Kitaro - OP song + GeGeGe no Kitarou Series 4 (1996-1998)【ED2】『Iyan Nacchau Fushi』by Yuukadan

 It's almost Halloween! Let's hear some great tunes from the classic long-running manga/anime series Gegege no Kitaro!

Kitaro's always had some great memorable opening that unlike most reboot shows/movies in the US, always kept its original melody intact throughought its various incarnations. It's an iconic Japanese opening theme. I love listening to its various takes over the decades. My fav is probably the original 1960s one and the 1990s movies version.

I really truly adored the live action films, it's nice to see a live take on Kitaro. The cast was great too. And the opening theme was perfectly used in the intro!

Wow! Check it out! 

And to end on a different note, I love how ending themes are either creepy... or fun yokai dance! This is one of my favorite ending musics, from the 1990s Kitaro:

Look at them shake it off! Haha! Adorably spooky! 

#AnimeNEWS MY HERO ACADEMIA: HEROES RISING - Official Dub Trailer

Here's the trailer for the unexpected second My Hero Academia: spinoff animated film, Heroes Rising! Unlike Two Heroes, which was mostly concerned with the past (and All Might's backstory), this one will look into the future and the development of our young heroes after the current arc in the Japanese manga. So, yeah, it kinda spoils the immediate endgame.



Looks neat! Man, Shonen Jump really cares about this licence, considering all the time and work they put into this anime! (Poor Dragon Ball... I mean, aside from Broly, the Super anime was kinda meh animation-wise..)

So apparently there's a new Ghost in the Shell series. A new CGi series. Made for Netflix. I'm kinda burned out on rehashes of the original GitS story, and would love to see them adapt other material from the original manga or move and expand to original content. Oh well...



Yikes..! This doesn't look well.

If they wanted 3D models, they could adapt stuff from the GitS 2.0 manga, and have the computer/virtual reality in 3D and the "real life" parts in 2D visuals.. Oh, well..

#AnimeNEWS Lupin III: The First 映画『ルパン三世 THE FIRST』本編オープニング【12月6日(金)公開】

The best looking CGi animated feature film isn't coming from Disney/Pixar or France.. but from Japan! I'm really looking forward to this aesthetically pleasing charming new Lupin III: The First film. It's full of style and personality.

Toho is really outdoing themselves! I also love the fact they actually kept the original theme song, for once. Check this new teaser trailer:



The film will premiere in Japan on December 6th.

We already had anime studio TRIGGER reveal their opening for Shantae 5. And now we just found out they will co-produce the animated opening to Indivisible, along US cartoon studio Titmouse.

"One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows"! This looks like a fun yet weird fighting game. They actually tried to keep Saitama's indestructible strenght in a fighter. How do you balance that? By simply making Saitama arrive late in fights! Heck they even kept his one-punch ability! Check this out:



The roster seems bigger and better than Kill la Kill IF at least.

#AnimeNEWS [ Anime Film ] Evangelion:3.0 + 1.0 - Official Teaser Trailer [2]

Nobody knows what to expect with Evangelion:3.0 + 1.0. Apart that Anno's gone crazy and nothing makes sense anymore.. or does it?

I can't believe these Rebuild of Evangelion films have started over a decade ago, back in 2007 to be precise. And while we're still far off the conclusion of the series - set to hit theaters in Japan on June 2020 - it's finally turning into a reality.

After a short teaser trailer, here's another one! Still very confusing.

Let's wait and see how far off this reinterpretation/departure ends up:

Here's the first look at "Lupin III: The First". Lupin's first proper CGi movie.

...and surprisingly it looks really great! After a wave of bad CGi anime films, it's great to see more awesome animated anime films like that Gantz one. And they even kept most of the original art style intact:



Beautiful! I actually look forward to it! The film will be out in Japan on December 6.

While we wait for more news regarding the recently-announced Shantae 5, WayForward just revealed their brand new game, River City Girls!

That's right, a throwback to old school beat 'em alls, and more precisely the awesome River City Ransom, in collaboration with ArcSys no less!



I love anything WayForward puts out! Sign me in.

River City Girls is scheduled to hit Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 5!
