What can we say already aside from the fact this looks pretty fun?
Looks like a mix of all previous Sonic/Sega racing games. I see "transformed" mechanics, extremeboards/overboards, lots of characters, SAGE is here! A few references to the storybooks/Secret Rings stages...
Apparently this will be a month of news and goodies for FNAF fans. And they just started this announcing a new fun-but random spinoff game AND teasing a new proper horror game.
Sonic "the youtuber" is not something anyone ever asked for.. but it somehow just... works?
Little commercial for the Apple Arcade version of Team Sonic Racing. The tracks appear somewhat retooled in this game. Wouldn't it be awful if they also announced a few more characters for that version of the game? Ha!
I don't care if it was started as such, it's not just a remake, I actually call Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled "CTR4"!
It basically offers the combined experience of CTR, Nitro Kart and Tag Team Racing. Updating the adventure mode of the original with characters, karts and the customization of the later games. Plus all the new added gimmicks and features.
As well as the inclusion of the online mode AND the upcoming Grand Prix mode!
Starting with tomorrow's first Grand Prix, the Nitro Tour Grand Prix! Which will allow to unlock some more new content with a new in-game currency!
And here's the awesome new trailer, featuring the return of the cartoon mutant chicken duo of Chick and Stew (check out their voice actors!! Sonic's in Crash, sorta! Haha!), brought over from CTTR's cutscenes! Also, Tawna is back and not kidnapped for a change. The Trophy Girls from the original CTR are now racing for their own trophies. And more!
Nitro-Fueled just keeps getting better and better! Well done, Beenox! With your crew and Vicarious Vision, Crash is finally in good hands! (So long, Radical!)
I almost forgot the new Crash Team Racing game is coming up soon.
Looking less and less like a CTR remake, and more and more like a proper new installement in the series, the 4th Crash racing game. It even takes more and more elements from Nitro Kart and Tag Team Racing each new trailer!
FAKE CRASH is in the place!!
So is customization!
They need to add Nina Cortex, and this will become my dream Crash kart racing game!!
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled launches for the PlayStation 4, Switch and Xbox One on June 21.
Team Sonic Racing is almost upon us, it looks like the extra dev team gave the team the extra time to polish the game and finally start giving it some actual personality.
And now you can even customize vehicles!
It looks fun.
But this is clearly not the reason I made this post. It's the fact that Sega's gonna produce a new short animated webseries around this new game - Team Sonic Racing Overdrive. And like Sonic Mania Plus before, they're gonna release them on the official youtube channel AND they look beautiful!
Check out the first episode:
Clearly made by people who love and enjoy the Sonic series. Such a fun charming cartoon. If the games could catch up to this level of quality...
While some crazy cocaine-snorting Hollywood execs are seriously thinking about making an Hanna-Barbera shared universe including a Flintstones reboot and an actual Wacky Races film (true story!!), enjoy this silly little commercial for Peugeot which will probably be better than any actual Hollywood attempt at a serious Wacky Races film:
With the new E3 trailer, the recently revealed Team Sonic Racing game from Sumo Digital also comes with a brand new Jun Senoue/Crush 40 song! Awesome:
It all looks pretty silly. I would have loved smaller/cartoonier/kart vehichles Sonic Drift/Mario Kart-style. And I hope there's some random characters as part of the cast, Sonic or Sega ones. Come on, give me Ray and Might! Heck, even one of the Deadly Six dorks!
Long rumored and teased by Sega's social media accounts, leaked by toy manufactures, info revealed by fans and loosely revealed by Wallmart yesterday, Sega has now officially confirmed the new kart racing game featuring Sonic & co.
After teasing it as a Sonic R spiritual successor, it's actually a follow up to Sumo Digital's last racing All-Stars games. And it's weirdly titled Team Sonic Racing.
While I'm sad to see the Sega All-Stars part go, I will miss all these classic Sega IPs crossovers, I hope this means we won't get any weird cross-promotion stuff like Banjo & Kazooie (love 'em, not in a Sega-exclusive crossover game, please), Wreck it Ralph or Danica Patrick...
Developed one more time by Sumo Digital, who worked on 2010’s Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
and 2012’s Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. The game is expected to feature 15 Sonic characters (why not more? DLC? the last two games had over 20!), team-gimmick mechanics, all the previous modes from the other two titles.
Here's a CGi trailer:
With Sonic Forces just behind and Sonic Mania Plus around the corner, I kinda expect to see Infinite, Mighty and Ray among the cast!
Expect proper gameplay during E3. The game will be released sometime this winter on Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
So, apparently, we almost got a Crazy Taxi 4 not that long ago. But no surprise there, our "modern day SEGA" scrapped it (no doubt in favor of more random Sonic stuff..).
This comes from a recent update sonicstadium shared. The portfolio from an artist from SEGA
Studios Australia, Brooke Luder, just revealed a few scrapped projects.
Including a pitch, concept art piece and a logo for what would have been a tentative Crazy Taxi 4:
There's no much information aside from this following bit from his portfolio page:
CRAZY TAXI CONCEPT ART A concept piece created for the Crazy Taxi pitch from SEGA Australia.
Illustrated in Photoshop and logo design created in Illustrator.
Studio: SEGA, Australia
Location: Brisbane, Australia
Software: Photoshop, Illustrator
Skills: Illustration, Logo Design
No matter how it would have turned out, I'm sure it could have been fine. It's not a really complicated IP to get right, heck even the recent smartphone Crazy Taxi free-to-play is pretty fun. (Goddammit... now I want my Crazy Taxi fix...)
Nothing much is lost, I kinda consider the PSP "enhanced port" Fare Wars to be CT4 in all but name, adding its own spin on things. But I would have loved to get a proper new console installment with a brand new city(/ies)...
Alongside Radical Entertainment's 2nd Crash Bandicoot reboot, Crash Landed, a "sister game" of sorts was being developed at the time.
Simply known as Crash Team Racing (2010), it was to be a new (and 4th) Crash Bandicoot Kart game. A return to basis, without any silly gimmick this time.
Only Crash & co in go-karts, with their new updated chibi-ysh designs.
Let's check this new video that has just surfaced recently:
Wooah!!!
It was being developed by High Impact Games (a team mostly composed of old Naughty Dog crew, the ones that left after Sony's buy-off).
Despite never being released, since Activision decided to simply ditch this series over the last few years, it looked quite promising!
It was originally sheduled for PS3, 360 and the Wii. Personally
I loved the cartoony art style of these two 2010 scrapped games... really sad that we never got both of these..
It was about time Sega started advertising their upcoming Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. (the game is coming up this week after all!)
They're also not only counting on Sonic & co to the their job, but also using Danica Patrick's public image. (and what an image!) Check this out:
Cheesy as hell? Sure! But heck, I even prefer having her around (what??) than Banjo & Kazooie in the first game.... (yeah, as a longtime Sega nerd, I just couldn't take those two in the previous title...)
