What a twist! The dad's the Butcher?? Did the trailer spoil the entire film.. or is that only the beginning of the film? Or did he think he trapped the Butcher and he's a good guy.. or.. Is the daughter the one trapping them? Aliens? People in weird disguises? Time travel?!

A..alright. Not as grand as some of his more recent films, but looks great, slightly less confusing as his mid-films. Plot twist? Coming from miles away! Wait and see..

I've enjoyed Shyamalan's recent batch of smaller films (even though Glass was certainly... the least cohesive one). Interestingly enough, this is the first one of his recent films won't be produced by Blumhouse Productions... I don't know how I feel about this, since I felt like Blumhouse was able to better canalyze Shyamalan's anthics through smaller productions and smaller budgets...

#MovieNEWS New Shyamalan film, SPLIT

After a surprisingly decent The Visit, M. Night Shyamalan is back with another film we all wish closer to 6th Sense and not Lady in the Water...

Split is a new film, featuring Charles Xavier himself James McAvoy. After the small found-footage experiment, this time it's a much more traditional horror film revolving around an idea played with in his last film - someone dealing with split personalities - I see what you did there, Shyamalan! But our character has 23 different personalities.... and it turns out he has a secret hidden 24th personality!! WHAT A TWIST!



No, actually I can predict the actual twist, hear me out!

It will turn out the psychiatrist is actually one of the personalities, if not the main personality trying to "kill" all the other personalities!

The movie will be out next year, January 20.

#Shyamalan NEWS! WAYWARD PINES trailer

New shows are being announced left and right.

Here's the trailer Fox released for the new Twin Peaks-esque show Wayward Pines created by M. Night Shyamalan. Did I mention Twin Peaks? It's very Twin Peaks-ysh.





It's the story of a guy that just can't leave this strange little town.. It appears very much inspired by Stephen King work, and also sort of reminds me of the game Alan Wake.

The show was announced as a 10-episode series and starts of this week.

Also - Terrence Howard! So that's where he is now!

#Movie NEWS! M. Night Shyamalan's The Visit

Apparently M. Night Shyamalan has an upcoming movie he "filmed in secret" which he financed all by himself. Could this be the film that will redeem the man.. or the final nail in the coffin!?!?

It's titled The Visit. And it's supposed to be a return to horror for him, I like the sound of that. Partially filmed in "found footage". I wonder what the twist will be ("Oh, it's actually a good movie this time!"). But don't expect much, it's rated PG13!

I see Shyamalan kept out his really awful last few films off his resume.

We all know Shyamalan loves his twists, I wonder what the twist will be here this time. Ah, I know! It turns out the grandparents are actually witches that eat children... in fact, the whole's modern retelling hansel gretel!

#EyzTalks - U got Shyamalan'd!

Twist: My blog was dead all along I actually still kinda like M. Night Shyamalan. I mean, I don't hate the guy.

Sure he's made a foul of himself over the years and his movies have been increasingly worse one after the other. My guess is that his early fame and success from The Sixth Sense probably got to his head. And then he sort of lost the passion he had and became way too formulaic for his own good.

Plus his writing's been getting pretty bad, film directing skills aside.

But I still a lot of masterfully storytelling and great eye for the picture when I look back at Sixth Sense or Unbreakable. Heck, even Signs.

So what went wrong?

I think he put way too much focus on the mystery and the often-laughed twist ending, and sort of forgot to care about his characters later on. Plus the plot have been more and more nonsensical. I mean, the trees, really?

But I do believe you could still salvage things up if you would mix up the twists amongst the films.

Don't believe me? Well, let's try a little experiment.

#Movies NEWS! M. Night Shyamalan’s new sci-fi epic: "After Earth"

M. Night Shyamalan is back with a new film!
After a bunch of recent movies getting...well, sorta worse each time and a pretty terrible Avatar (The Last Airbender) adaptation, Manoj is back after a little hiatus (in which he only produced the "first of the Shyamalan Chronicles trilogy"...).

And this time....it..doesn’t look immediately terrible!
But who knows, right? The Happening ended being so bad...and..uninteresting, despite a bunch of good early trailers as well.

After Earth will this time take place in the future!
(a post 2012-near future?)
It will start Will Smith and son as they duo tries to survive a harsh new world after technology went awry .
The movie is expected for a June 5, 2013 release date.


They might make you think the big "twist" has already been revealed in this trailer.
"It's not just some random world in the future...it's Earth after a cataclysm!!"
But since it's Shyamalan, you can already expect something else. My guess? It's actually the past!! And Smith's kid will be the father of our own world! I can swear I saw some prehistorical creatures in this trailer...

Movie NEWS! What-a-twist!

Do you like M. Night Shyamalan? You know, that director who's become famous on his crazy plots and twisted endings?!
As someone who kinda actually enjoyed most of his movies (hey, Unbreakable was incredible!!) I'm kinda expecting his future new project... no, nor the thing with the kids air bending or whatever...

He's gonna produce some creepy old school horror stories under the title The Night Chronicles.
He's not going to direct those. Just develop and produce the movies.

What a twist!
