There's a sort of spiritual successor/remake/update of one of my all-time favorite Jurassic Park games, Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, coming up, it's called Jurassic World Evolution!
And in my eyes its easily the best thing to come out of this Jurassic Park/World revival. I mean this should have been the Jurassic World tie-in, no Fallen Kingdom's!
It looks gorgeous and seems to have plenty of nods to the previous park building game, including dinosaurs that never appeared on films looking similar in tone and color.
They released a new pre-order trailer:
More importantly, they actually announced the participation of Jeff Goldblum in the game!!
I now give this game officially 11/10 Goldblums!!!
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is coming June 22, here's a supposedly "final trailer" for the film!
Looks good! In a Lost World-kind of way! And I always love me some dinosaur movies (there's hardly any of those anymore nowadays...). I'm not a big fan how much this new trailer shows of the film and the fact it might probably have the exact same final act as The Lost World!
The folk at Owenergy Studios have put up a fantastic video compilation of Jeff Goldblum making his famous Jeff Goldblum noises! Check this out, it's uh-absolutely, huh, fantastic!
Check out this fantastic great new Thor short from Taika Waitit, this one comes from the THOR RAGNAROK home release!
I love how the Grandmaster's basically Jeff Goldblum on a whole new Goldblum-level!
And if you missed the previous original shorts, allow me this great excuse to repost them below. One was a tie-in with Civil War, the other with Doctor Strange:
A new trailer's also out for the upcoming 5th Jurassic Park film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom!
The new trailer ran during the Super Bowl. It finally gives us a better look at the upcoming as well as the entire film's plot. Also, there seems to be a new weird frankenstein-of a dinosaur. Check this out:
Since JW was mostly a rehash of JP, this one now seems to be a patchwork of The Lost World: "Going back to the island, trying to save dinosaurs, corporate meddling in their and making bad decisions for the whole group" type of plot. Plus we get Jeff Goldblum back for the occasion!
Yet I cannot wait to see dinos back on the big screen! The film's expected for a June 7 release date.
I honestly love what I'm seeing. More Chris Pratt is always fun, and the lovely Bryce Dallas Howard is also back. I love the fact they brought back Jeff Goldblum who's been basically everywhere since his return in Independence Day 2. And I also really like the whole Lost World-vibe this sequel is going for, which is much better than what I originally feared for the original Jurassic Park 3 and when they announced a sequel to Jurassic World. You know, the whole militarized dinosaurs part which was briefly alluded to in JW.
I've been seeing a lot of hate for Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom online, lately. And I'm kinda sad.. because there's so little dinos on the big screen nowadays (not counting the few modern kaiju films we got neither).
I dig the whole volcano-part of the plot here, since it actually comes from the original book (under different circumstances, sure, but it's like when we got the aviary or the rapids in JP3). And if you've played a ton of JP games like myself back in the day, we're kinda used to seeing volcanoes on the island. Only instead of a random eruption at the end of the original story, the day the island went into its whole chaos theory-situation back in JP1, it is now happening years later. I'm fine with it.
I'm also glad we're finally seeing a "Carnotaurus" in one of these films, I only remember seeing those in a few IDW JP comics!
I finally watched Independence Day: Resurgence yesterday - it was.. ok - but I can safely say the best thing in that film was definitively to see Jeff Goldblum return.
Here is The Goldblum TM himself singing lyrics to the Jurassic Park theme song on Seth Meyers:
We knew it was coming, but chances are we all forgot.
Here's the first trailer for yet another vintage classic resurrected this decade, Independence Day: Resurgence. Starring Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman (but no Will Smith, because he was asking for too much money and you know what happens when actors do that? They get Crispin Glover'd in the sequel!
Check this out:
It actually looks surprisingly ok.
The film is expected to hits theaters on June 24th, 2016.
I was originally only going to review one of these two Transylvania-themed 80s parody films.. but I kept thinking about the second one while writing this review.
So here's two Transylvanian horror comedy movies for Halloween for the price of one!
The End of the World Starts at Midnight, the classics join forces for a monster-ous good time!
With a new Jurassic Park coming up on the big screen this month, after a long decade of silence, you knew I had to revisit this cult franchise on my blog at some point.
Always a personal cult favorite film of mine. I mean, who doesn't love dinosaurs?
