#MovieNEWS Space Jam: A New Legacy Sneak Peeks | Cartoon Network

Let's admit it, Warner Bros. just really wanted to make another pop culture-filled Ready Player One CGi fest... with real outdated pop culture-references..

This is a very weird marketing.. and movie. People wanted to see the movie as long as it was just a rumor for decades. But with each new preview people are less and less interested in it.

By now it just looks like cringe in physical form...

#ToonsNEWS Space Jam 2: A New Legacy

Come on and JAM! To the first official screenshots of Space Jam 2!

First up the official synopsis, which show a, err, radically different take on Space Jam as a concept.

Playing a heightened version of himself, James struggles to relate to [Cedric] Joe’s Dom [LeBron’s son], who's much more interested in creating games than playing them. When Dom’s tech skills draw the attention of a CGI humanoid named Al G Rhythm (Don Cheadle), the father-son duo get sucked into the Warner 3000 entertainment ‘Server-verse,’ with the A.I. kidnapping Dom in the hopes of stealing some of the King's followers (IRL he has about 80 million on Instagram). Cheadle doesn’t consider Al G a bad guy (what bad guy does?), but rather ‘an A.I. with a chip on his shoulder.’

A..alright..?

So I guess it's not "SPACE jam" anymore, and more like "CYBERSPACE Jam". Also, this seems to be more of a Warner Bros take on Wreck-it-Ralph with a redo of Ready Player One.

Anyways, place for the first pics:

Don't worry. The characters will be 2D in their universe, as you can see from the following leaked pics of Lebron in the toons world, but they will become CGi in the virtual world where they end up playing basketball, for some reason.

#DeletedScenes "Skate Jam"... whaAAAT??

Forget about all these rumors, planned and attempts at a Space Jam 2, Skate Jame is where it's at! Come on, and jam!

Tony Hawk brought this little tidbit the other day:

"in 2003, I was requested to meet with Warner Brothers about doing a film tentatively titled “Skate Jam.” They were bringing back Looney Tunes with “Back In Action” & then wanted to start on my project immediately. A week later Back In Action bombed & Skate Jam was shelved forever"
So it sounds we almost got a third live-action/cartoon mix Looney Tunes film... Aw man.. They should have tried doing this one in the middle of the 90s to early 2000s..

#BestOf Space Jam - "Secret stuff"

Guilty pleasure? Sure.
Here's a pretty awesome scene from the old Space Jam movie!

As out-of-character as the Tunes were in many scenes, I still love this film quite a lot to this day~

And love the random parodies/references here and there! (Tarantino?!)

#BestOf Space Jam - The tune squad introduction

I have absolutely no problem in having some Space Jam on my blog.
It's one of my favorite guilty pleasure-movies around.

It's been over a decade since I last saw it though~
(I should try to grab a copy of it on DVD...)

The toons weren't voiced by my favorite VAs in this film, but the animation was nice.

Haaaa! :)
Michael Jordan's awful acting :)
