Gamin' NEWS! Broken Sword 2 Remake!

This just got in!

A remake to an ol' 1997 classic 2D point and click adventure was just announced!
Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror - Remastered by Revolution Software, will be out soon on iPad / iPhone / iPod touch before Christmas and on PC & Mac "very early next year" in 2011 (probably on Wii too, and maybe DS as well, though not announced yet, or with the new DS coming out..they probably dropped it?).

But fans of the Broken Sword series and who liked the "Director's Cut" of the previous game...you may not be super happy to notice this is a "Remastered" update and not a "Director's Cut" again.

Meaning, like Beneath A Steel Sky it won't add new scenes but just an updated visual.
The game will include an exclusive new interactive digital comic from Dave Gibbons!
It will also feature fully animated facial expressions, enhanced graphics, high quality music as well as a context-sensitive hint system, include an in-game achievement list and a diary.

No additional chapters :(

Here's some pictures:

(it's the Apple version that will be out soon...so no high res' here)

  2. I'm pretty dissopointed they just made another touch up sequel rather then a new 2D sequel. But at the end of the day it's easy money for them : B gotta love that series though

  3. They did say Broken Sword 3 and 4 would be "Director's Cut" again and not "Remastered" ports, meaning a lot more work...
    and...
Those original 3D games would be remade entirely in 2D!!!
    That's gotta count for something..right? :P

(specially BS 3 which was a 3rd person adventure game unlike BS 4 which still was again a point & click)
