#Recap - Amazing Spider-man

Watched the new Spider-man movie (the reboot!).
Liked it.

... Okay I was gonna keep this short, for kicks but I just want to say, despite the fact that I enjoyed the movie I really felt like it dragged on once the climax resolved.
Like you could cut at the end, after the big epic fight and talk with Captain Stacy on the building and end it there.
But for some reason, it dragged on and on and on...
*ending* Great movie!
*epilogue* Oh, it's not over. We get to see a funeral. Okay.
*epilogue 2* Oh, they still talking. Pete's at home. Here's Gwen. Aunt May. Yadda yadda..
*epilogue 3* What, again?! They're at school. Sure. What's going on? Was that only the first act? Are we going to see another hour of action-filled plot?
*epilogue 3-bis* More school. Sure. Are we going to see like another supervillain? The Shocker? Something? What is going on?! Let it end dammit! OH NO. I get it. Setting the sequel, right? Okay, we're going to see Norman Osborn finally or something!
*epilogue 4* Swinging around New York some more, really?
*END CREDITS* HAAaaaaaa!!!
*epilogue 5* Oh, Curt Connors and let me guess...? Normie! Fina-
*END CREDITS FOR REAL* WHAT WAS THAT?!?

Anyway, great flick.
Besides those last ~15 useless minutes at the end.

It got me to discuss an eventual sequel with my bro' and/or the eventual remake/reboot once Marvel gets the rights back. What they might do different and whatnot.
Hopefully they get rid of Sony's awful "PS3" font for the logo to get something closer from the 80s Spider-Man comics title font.

  1. You know...
I find Sam Raimi to be a great movie director, I find Spider-man 2 to be very well directed and a fine movie and all....but actually I really dislike all 3 Spider-man movies. I find them to be so..."un-Spidey". It's a bad representation of Spider-man as a character. Tobey's a very badly cast Peter Parker. And the villains.. let's not even mention them...

New movie-wise: I liked this new Uncle Ben. I liked the fact we saw a Lizard pretty close to the original Stan Lee-era one, with plans to transform NYC full of Lizards and all (unlike his later more "Lethal" appearance starting under Todd McFarlane)
Now that you mention it, Flash was okay IMO.

I just had some problems with Gwen (but that's more me not being a fan of the actress/not knowing her and preferring Bryce Dallas Howard from the previous movie)

  2. Oh, and that ending-epilogue...so long...so boring..so uneventful.

It's not a question of setting a sequel really. Since you know, we'll get to see Gwen mourn her dad, Peter avoiding her, etc. all over AGAIN!
I just had preferred if the movie cut earlier at the Oscorp tower. And either go to the Norman visiting Connors-scene right away or keep it after the 1st credits as it was - but make it more comprehensible/interesting.
