#Gaming NEWS! and on the FPS side....

So, apparently, the "QuakeCon's" on.

And some new fun FPS games have been announced - worth a mention.
Let's check 'em out.

First off, let's start with the slightly-bad news.

The slighty popular, but fun coop "Army of Two" games are getting a reboot already! (this same gaming generation, really, EA?)
Simply titled...errr.. Army of Two Now that's just plain confusing apparently, Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel.

EA said it will be a "more intense, mature, and gritty" reboot of the series
It's in development at Visceral Games' Montreal studio and will employ DICE's Frostbite 2 engine.
It will now star Alpha and Bravo, two mercenaries under the employ of Tactical Worldwide Operations who find themselves in the middle of Mexico's unfortunate war between drug cartels

What happened to Rios and Salem?!?
And more importantly, where's the fun in that!!??

Oh man...did they really need to reboot this fun mindless over-the-top series?
'Loved played those with my bro!
Does that means that the original 3rd game "Army of Four" got canned"? Or did they use those assets in this new direction?

Rise of the Triad Returns!!

Remember this one? No?

The original, Rise of the Triad: Dark War

Well, the sequel is coming up like this...

First up Apogee is still alive?!
And the ex-3DRealms just announced they would bring back this fun FPS back into HD systems.
The game will still feature all those fun various weapons and all.

It's coming back on PC later this year, and it is co-developed with Interceptor Entertainment, a Denmark-based studio that previously worked on the non-commercial UE3 remake of Duke Nukem 3D.
The game will, like the original, contain "full character and enemy dismemberment". Dayum!

Here's some pics:

This better keep all the fun over-the-top one-liners approach of the original!
And it better look, feel and play none like DNForever...

Update! And here's the first launch trailer!

Neat!
Though I always preferred the Wolfenstein series over Rise, I guess the same can be said from the few we've seen of this new one.
