Back To The Future: The Ride
Here's the Back To The Future movie you never heard of, Back To The Future: The Ride!!
It was a very popular attraction at the Universal Studios Park.
It lasted all the way through the 90s but closed in the 2000s to make way for The Simpsons Ride.
It's very silly, very cheesy and reminds me of those badly acted FMV video games.
What is fun though is that both Christopher Lloyd and Tom Wilson returned as Doc Brown and Biff respectively. Which makes the ride that much better, almost-official BTTF material in my eyes.
Sure the pitch is silly, shortly after BTTF3, Doc returned to the present and opened a Time Travel Research Institute. When 1950s Biff happens to hijack a DeLorean and attempt to screw up time...
But, hey, DOC! BIFF! Plus it's fun!
It's like the movie we never got after Part III!
These videos were filmed alongside the live segments from the 90s BTTF cartoon, and it really shows the same craziness. Lloyd plays here a Doc closer to that one than the original from the 80s movies.
Anyways, it's still very much enjoyable.
Here enjoy those videos, it's not like any of us got any chance to ever try this ride again:
A 8-person DeLorean!?
In case, like me, you're intrigued by that little bit, here's a sketch of how the ride looked like from the side:
