With the San Diego Comic Con running at the moment in the US, there's been plenty news regarding DC Comics I wanted to post.
And more precisely regarding their animated film features.
First up, coming up this July 30 is Justice League The Flashpoint Paradox, which has been receiving a pretty good reception from fans and newcomers alike.
It sounds like a pretty good take on this "alternate universe"/Elseworld-like self-contained story.
Next up we will have Justice League: War!
What's with all these *names* : *word* titles lately!?
It will see yet another Joss Whedon regular, Alan Tudyk in the role of...Superman!!!
It will mark the first New 52 adaptation (that's WHY they adapted Flashpoint?!), being based on Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's first arc for the new Justice League. It's aiming for an Early 2014 release date. Wait and see...
Next summer in 2014 we will have Son of Batman.
Apparently an adaption of fan favorite Grant Morrison's "Batman and Son" storyline with a notch of "Batman and Robin" to see Damian Wayne act as Robin for a bit. (I'm also hoping for some Dick Grayson as Batman personally...)
It is aimed for Batman's 75th anniversary next year. So expect lots more Bat-related stuff from DC and Warner. Speaking of which...
... We will also get Batman: Assault on Arkham. Yes. It will be based on the Arkham game series!
Right on time for the Arkham Origins game, for Fall 2014.
The question is will it be fully animated or CGi rendered by the guys behind the game's cutscenes??
At least it will see the return of the entire cast from Arkham Asylum/City as well as Bruce Timm and Paul Dini.
My problem with this one being... they probably axed another great project to redirect some budget on this one. Main rumors being the Aquaman animated film was cut for this.
And that is all for DC/Warner Bros upcoming animated films!
