Why am I even saying secret? It's titled 10 Cloverfield Lane! So it must be a Cloverfield sequel, finally! But with Abrams and his whole "mystery box" gimmick and let's not forget his "it's not Khan, it's John Harrison"-thing... You never know. It could as well be a sequel to Super 8 really. Or simply a brand new story!

Apparently it's not quite officially a Cloverfield sequel. This 10 Cloverfield Lane was originally codenamed Valencia.. which doesn't say much to be honest. The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg (Portal: No Escape) and seems to star John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. Abrams already said:
“The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield,” Abrams told Collider. “The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible.”The title appears to hint that it will mostly entirely take place inside a single house actually. The Cloverfield title of the originally film was actually inspired by an exit people at Bad Robot used to take in their HQs in Santa Monica, CA.
So what do you think the film will be about? Some chemical attack, or another (familiar?) giant monster? All we can say for certain is that the film won't be found footage anymore.
