So like Marvel, the whole Disney investors-thingie revealed a bunch of news regarding the SW IP as well. The theme here seems to be... everyone's getting a series! You're getting a series, he's getting a series, she's getting a series.. we're all getting series! Oprah works for Disney now..?
Let's start with...
If the world's not on fire until then, it seems we're getting a new Star Wars movie in theaters (if they still exist) by Dec. 22, 2023. From Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, no less! Based on Rogue Squadron!

This could be fun. But is it also going to take place in the original trilogy era, again? Kinda like Rogue One but after episode 4?
They also confirmed the fact that Taika Waititi's actually shooting another SW spinoff film.
“Everything I did, I did for the Rebellion.” Andor, an Original Series set in the Star Wars universe, is streaming in 2022 on #DisneyPlus. pic.twitter.com/q2IT2qzEeR

Andor. Listen, I really enjoyed Rogue One out of all the Disney-era SW films. I even liked his character in the film. But I'm not sure I'm interested in following this dude on a whole series...
Hayden Christensen returns as Darth Vader, joining Ewan McGregor in OBI-WAN KENOBI. The Original Series begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Revenge of the Sith, and is coming to #DisneyPlus. pic.twitter.com/9WR2npRUkk

The long rumored Obi Wan series is finally real. I still honestly wished this was a standalone spinoff film, like it was originally supposed to be. A whole Obi-Wan series? What kind of hijinks is he gonna get into between episode 3 and 4?? But this actually picked myi nterest just because they announced Hayden Christensen would return as Darth Vader!! What?? Is there going to be lots of scenes without his helmet or will they be making flashbacks during his time as padawan? Wait and see...
We're also getting two Mandalorian spinoffs, which will of course result in a crossover between all three shows..
Rangers of the New Republic, a new Original Series set within the timeline of @TheMandalorian, is coming to @DisneyPlus. pic.twitter.com/EMzFuiqdOs

Rangers of the New Republic. Ok. Sure. Why not. I read some interesting ideas online, how they could use this to reintroduce Kyle Katarn. Why not, dudes, but I think you're all dreaming here.. And also..
Ahsoka, a new Original Series, starring @RosarioDawson and set within the timeline of @TheMandalorian, is coming to @DisneyPlus. pic.twitter.com/jD8byvNvDP

Now you see, I expected this one. The culmination of Dave Filoni's life work. That's probably why they brought Ahsoka over the Mandalorian, to prepare audiences for this announcement. Nice. If only they could reintroduce and make Starkiller/the apprentice canon, have an Anakin padawan vs. Darth Vader apprentice confrontation... sigh..
Also, there's going to be a few other shows, Disney really needs and wants to have Star Wars relevant again and making some money after the recent films.. So we'll also be getting a Lando Calrissian show (though no mention who would be playing Lando), another series mysteriously called The Acolyte taking place during the "High Republic era".
And even a Bad Batch mini following one last chapter of the CGi Clone Wars series....
Star Wars fans that were so mad at Disney not that long ago are all probably thanking Santa for coming in early this year with all these gifts..
