So here we are.
I finally got myself a brand new console system!
And I’m already in love with it. This is no question my favorite console of 2021!
Which is this mysterious console..? Drum roll...!!
And it’s the SEGA ASTRO CITY MINI from last year!!
GO SEGA!! The 60th Anniversary special mini Arcade plug-and-play release.
Just received the whole thing in a bunch of separate package.
The package is beaaaautifuuul!!
Classic Sega.
And
it was actually made by Sega (well, Sega Toys really), and not some
third party like Atari games like those Flashback systems.
Containing
no less than 37 Sega games! Covering arcade titles from the 1980s to
the early 1990s - from Sega's System 1 to Sega's Model 1!
And lookit why I got as well:
A regular controller. And the very Dreamcast-like Arcade stick.
There were a bunch of other silly and non-sense accessories, but I didn’t feel like those.
(Now if they produce a trackball-controller with add-on SegaSonic game for the Astro City Mini... call me then!)
The console itself is just so cute!! Look at it!!
So many awesome titles! I hadn't followed all the news regarding the Astro City Mini, I wasn't expecting some of those choices! (Also, strangely, no Sonic...!)
I was super hyped about the missing Golden Axe episode, Revenge of Death Adder (which is gorgeous), but I didn’t knew we also had the original arcade Golden Axe in there!
Also a couple of Puyos, Flicky,
Fantasy Zone and Space Harrier, 2 Shinobis, 3 Wonder Boy/Monster World,
the gorgeous arcade Alex Kidd and, heck, even the original non
pixelated, non-lagging Virtua Fighter 1!!
I love this game!
NICE.
Really happy with this first big impulse purchase of 2021. I feel like having a missing part of Sega history.
(Now if they could bring SegaSonic to the Astro City Mini...)
