I finally received this week this sublime Signature Edition with a ton of goodies:
An artbook, badges, a keychain, the (wonderful) OST, a reversible retro covert art.
As for the game, really enjoying it. It feels a bit more slippery (and yes I know the original was a bit slippery), but it's not the same exact physics as the classic Alex Kidd. So it can feel a bit too loose sometimes, running high speed. Everything else, the lovely upgraded art, the ukulele soundtrack, the ability to check on the classic graphics... it's perfect!
RIP Alex Kidd no more! (1986-1990) - one of SEGA's early mascots (which I wrote on several times before..)
I hope he gets another game from the same team, something all-new and original.
Here is a look at my Alex Kidd collection - yes, I made custom cover art for most Alex Kidd games (which I uploaded here in the past). I just tend to prefer the original Japanese art, the original covers are behind those.
AND special bonus!
A look at my complete Alex Kidd collection, with some repros of my favorite homebrew Alex Kidd games <3
This year was big for Alex. A brand new retro game by an awesome fan that loves the series. And an official DC remake of the original game.. by awesome fans that love the series!
